Always in gear for me, going Hammer this spring. Did it on my 10 Iron and you are correct! It was a runner
+Jim Germata It's a game changer for sure! Ride safe.
Years ago we read Motorycle Magazines.
After I hit a Deer on a Hot day and took a 50 MPH slide I finally found an Armored Mesh riding shirt .. I have armored mesh pants too .
I got rear ended on my bike 2 weeks ago at a redlight, girl texting also. fortunately she drove a civic and it was low enough to impact my tire, but knocked me 8ft forward and miraculously I kept my bike up. Idiots.
+Fast-Action Jax I know scary stuff glad your ok.
Love your videos man. Also love your bike color, mine is quite similar.
I don’t think you should get a citation for texting while driving/riding. I believe it should be mandatory license suspension for a certain time. At least a month. But that shit is definitely a big problem know a days
How much was the kit and install in total. I love the the looks of my iron and would much rather have it upgraded than to buy a 48
Can you do some full throttle pulls with that 1275 kit? I know these bikes aren't made for speed but its hard finding a video of the performance after installing one of these kits. Thanks!
+MotoZixxer. It is hard to reference speed on video but I will give it a shot. Stock hp is around 48 give or take after the kit about 80 hp. So it is a pretty good bump up. It's the torque difference you can really feel in the seat of your pants. Fun factor also shoots way up there.
+Tony's Garage I was dealing with the same issue before I installed mine. If you have option to test ride a 1200 Sportster it would be very similar, but the iron jumps off the line faster due to its gearing.
Tony's Garage Thanks, I'll probably go test ride a 1200 and see if I enjoy the power bump
Who says a sporty isnt made for speed?
Some of the first Sportsters were race bikes made for speed. Drags n all
I have always hated having people behind in my car . I really hate seeing someone behind me on the bike.
+dxcaprice88 I know drives me crazy also. Have to watch everyone around you when riding. Thanks for the comment ride safe.
I usually keep it in gear and ready to pull out in case of an emergency but the more stop and go there is in traffic, i eventually will switch to neutral to rest my hand.
+Alex Rodriguez I do the same. Thanks for the comment.
What Kind Of Vibration & Fuel Penalty Do You Have With The Heavier Pistons & Larger Displacement ???
+William Cochran as far as vibration really about the same nothing noticable over stock. Fuel maybe alittle hit but not enough to worry about in my opinion. Thanks for the question. Ride safe!
I have been eyeing this kit for a while. In Canada, the USD - CAD dollar exchange hurts a bit lol
+Dan Nickleford Hammer does a great job on their kits and it a good bit of fun installing them also.
Hey Dan, I bought a 1275 Kit when it still wasn't announced on the hammer site back in like March, so I didn't really know how much it would end up costing, but in the end the whole 110+ hp Kit along with them porting my SE Heads and Intake Manifold cost me 4k with shipping and all. Obviously you are going to save a lot of money by installing it yourself.
Got to love shifting at 7500 rpm :)
+KorKrow oh yeah, 110 hp kit is bad ass. I just went with the plain conversion kept everything else stock. This winter I will have the heads ported and install some cams should be fun. Ride safe!
KorKrow WOW I would LOVE to have that on my bike. That must be soo much fun to ride haha. I'd love the 110hp kit. If I can get some extra money together, I'd totally go for it but right now I'm eyeing the basic kit. I'd like to install it myself to learn more about the bike. Maybe a winter project? Haha
+Dan Nickleford basic kit will make your bike really come to life. Install is actually kinda of fun really enjoyed doing it. Anything I can do to help Dan just let me know. Ride safe.
What’s the highest horsepower you can get in a 883 with a conversion kit?
With hammer about 120 or so
4:53 "You are talking to yourself in a helmet makes you feel kinda like a douche". Bruh, made me laugh.
Great vid man. Thanks. Do you know if there's a biggerr kit for sportsters out there? Mine has the 1200 cc encine, but be nice to have a couple of extra hp
The hammer 1275 is the biggest one out there that I know of.
1250 or 1275 from Hammer is a good bolt on bump. Cams and head work will take it farther. If you want to go all out, Hammer has 88 and 90 inch kits, but your case needs to be bored for the bigger jugs.
Always keep it in gear
If it is a long light I put it in neutral
How would a 1275 kit on a 1200 custom be?. Better cuz the gearing
Always try to keep in gear.
You sould Ride in Romania (Est Europe) it's crazy, everybudy talks on the phone :( It's crazy when I ride my motorcycles and se them texting or speaking on the phone.
+Petru Dan Mandru scary stuff ride safe
I'm traying Check this out www.trafictube.ro/sofer-profesionist-motociclisti-incepatori/
Hi. What did you install first...the digital speedo or the 1275 kit? On the HD site it states that the speedo is not compatible with 883s converted to 1200 with their SE kit. Do you know anything about that? Hope you can clear this for me:)
I did the speedo first. It seems to work just fine with my conversion haven’t had any problems so far.
Got rear-ended by a girl in a crv she knocked me down and drove over me and my bike I wear all my gear so I walked away with a totalled bike and 3 broken ribs and a sprained ankle. Gotta agree with you put down the phone and drive
Man, sorry to hear that. Getting rear ended is my biggest fear when I ride. Thanks for watching and stay safe out there Vincent.
Hey bud I have a couple of questions about your 1275 kit. I’m doing the same kit and mine says I need to put 80ci in engine displacement and I saw you put 82ci? Did V&H did all the punching in the numbers for your tune ?
All the numbers came directly from hammer performance.
@@TonysGarage Ok thanks. How long did it take to get the kit?
I’m thinking it took a couple weeks.
I carry pop rocks in my left pocket just in case some people might disagree with it but oh well
Is this something that a lane splitting law would fix?
Great videos! What speedometer is that?

Why do you keep talking about everything but the topic of a video for 8 minutes out of 10?
Dmitry exactly
Good question
He wanted it to be over 10 minutes so he could monetize it with ads
Time has nothing to do with monetizing a video.
Did you have to change your belt to chain and get an oil cooler?
No sir, had the change out to a heavier clutch spring and that was it.
Quick question about your speedo:
Do you have it set up to have the fuel gauge work? If so, how hard was it to do?
+Silverbulletzx3 I don't really didn't need it. From what I understand it isn't to bad to install but it does require removing the tank and it has to be done before the speedo marries to the bike. I think it is like 100 miles or so after install it marries.
Tony's Garage Wow! Quick reply, awesome! Thank you!
I'm getting an Iron 883 pretty soon as my first street bike, and have been looking at that exact Speedo. I really want a tach l, and that Harley one just looks good! Definitely getting it and painting the bezel black.
I figured the stock low fuel light would do just fine. Just was curious if you did have it done.
Love the bike, love that hammer conversion. Subscribed!
+Silverbulletzx3 thank you
