Only two of them are emotions though. Others are concepts rather than pure emotions, thus before Nurgle and Tzeench there should be a god of shame, which is an extremely strong emotion. There should also be the god of love because it's one of the strongest emotions (no, Slaneesh has nothing to do with the emotion of love). Maybe these emotions were omitted to keep things edgy?

If the warp works off of strong emotions and basically belief then with so much of humanity for 10,000 years believing in the Emperor being a god why hasn't this power basically revived the Emperor and restored his divinity? Would perhaps taking his body directly into the warp like right into the eye of terror maybe bring this about?
Actalzy I think emotions create realities within the warp. So believing and feeling would not create a physical reality. But the imperial cult may empower the emperor's spirit form within the warp, and that form may reach out to interact with the material reality in certain ways.

Anytime ppl sabotage, betray, or overthrow the rulership, Malice sees them with praise. -It’d walk a fine line btwn Khorn & Tzeentch tho: not violent enough for Khorn, not scheming enough for Tzeentch; just small acts of resentment, defiance, rebellion, ultimately growing into anarchy; which could b non-violent in the eyes of Khorn, but still disorderly enough to be considered Chaotic.

Malice lives! There are some who say there are books recently published by BL that support this... But it would be a minor power, since as an antithesis it can never become stronger than the powers it feeds off of and opposes - plus it's not a 'pure' power like the others. Would be cool to see some new demon designs, though.
If the gods are created by people's faith and there are still people believing in Malice, cannon or not - Malice lives :D Some of the people who play the WH40k game believe in him - therefore he exists regardless if GW approves of this or no. Once you create a God, you cant easily undo him. Just look at the Eldar :)
Should Malice ever become active and brought into the physical realm, he mostly would have too many enemies against him. Each Chaos Master would not want any of their followers to fall under his influence. Also, the Imperium Of Man would not dare ally with such a nut job. I do think though it would be interesting to see a fifth Master of Chaos to appear during the conflict and become the added issue that the forces of order would have to face.
I would argue that the emotion of betrayal and rebellion is one of the most powerful feelings of all the known universe. Humans who grow from children to young adults do nothing but rebel. They question their superiors, and the way of the old consistently. It is in human nature. The Orcs are another source of betrayal. There is so much infighting and backstabbing just to keep them in perpetual war that this could fuel Malice. The entire inquisition, religious casts and their billions of followers betraying what the Emperor of man stood for is yet another form of fuel. Every chapter that turns to chaos as well. And every time a champion of chaos betrays another, or undermines their counterpart is yet again more fuel. There is no shortage of what could fuel the God of anarchy and rebellion as even the great God Emperor is himself a presence in the warp that is in opposition to the chaos gods. What more would malice need than that?
I have been following this channel for about a month now; listening during my daily commute. I love the 40K lore. Its always funny when someone next to me hears from my car "The chaos gods and the forces of chaos that serve them" and slowly turn to look and see if I look as crazy as I sound.
To me, Malice as god of anarchy makes no sense, because anarchy is not a feeling. But. It would be nice to re-introduce him as a god of terror and fear, because this is a very stong feeling and none of 4 other gods represent it. God of Fear and Terror would be awesome and would fit the lore well.
I always though of Malice as a rebel god, I mean his follower constantly fighting against any form of control. Such "LEAVE ME THE F#CK ALONE!!!" attitude.

He does that's what malice wants to do. However such a God shouldn’t be too powerful because MOST people like living. The only time you would WANT to want to not live would be if there is something wrong with you because by definition desire is a positive thing. Your motivations are enforced by positive emotions so that God would be weak. If you want to murder someone that's still positive because you'll feel good or right in killing them.

I really like the concept of the chaos gods having a seemingly good intention grotesquingly twisted (Nurgle rebuilding the galaxy into something better, Slanesh giving pleasure, Tzeench spreading knowledge, Khorne ... ?) so this malice god is hard to fit well for it wants to destroy chaos (which can be seen as evil) with equal brutality, but it has no long term independent goal like the other gods have.

Actually the Dark Gods are, well, not evil. Nurgle is also a god of compassion and love, Tzeentch is patron of hope and progress, Khorne despises cowards and unhonorable scum, and Slaanesh favours ones who seek perfection and beauty, and Malal is strongly connected to justice and freedom. It is living creatures and their emotions who made gods dark. They are nothing more than a mirror of our souls. That's why Warhammer is so grimdark - evil has won long, long time ago, and it did so in hearts of men, eldar and all other species.
A long time ago in the pages of White Dwarf magazine or at least the yearly specials, there was a comic book concerning the Disciple of the Chaos God Malal - Kaleb Daark/ Dark. That's the source of "Malice". It was canon 25 years ago. It was meant to be random. He was a lone wolf with great powers.
One of my favorite topics in Warhammer. Only thing missing in the video I feel is the idea that at the end, Malice will out live all the other Chaos Gods, and they know it. They fear him but know deep within that Malice will remain. And that they have no chance.
As a new player of 40k I found this video super intriguing and I loved the idea of the sons of malice. I have been thinking of what legion to do for my choas marines and I'm going to do some research and perhaps have them devoted to killing chaos. Malus or Malal was originally a minor Chaos god in Warhammer Fantasy Battle. There were also gods of Law such as Solkan which were the opposite of Chaos gods in that they embodied supreme order and had angels rather than daemons in their armies, those weren't brought over from WFB though. Orginally in 40K there were meant to be numerous other minor Chaos gods these were lumped together as 'Independents' and Malus would have been classed as one of those if you wanted to make a Chaos that followed him.
Not to not pick, but anarchy doesn't mean no order. It just means no rulers. You can google the different anarchist philosophies and political views, such as anarcho-syndicalism and anarcho-capitalism.

Malice is probably part of all emotions that the gods of chaos feed off. I remember in fantasy how he was sealed away by the Chaos Gods of order and destruction because he was just THAT powerful. To balance out that, they had to seal off a Chaos God of Order, so that there were 4 Gods on each side. So there is no way he is weaker than the other 4. He is probably the strongest. Damn, I have such a badass idea for his champion that my spine gets shivers. To be more specific, Primaris Librarian full body, but head replaced with that of a Crimson Slaughter Space Marine. Then paint him to colours of black Legion because suprisingly those are his colours.
He seemed like a unique and interesting Chaos god and his existence makes sense. To fight chaos not for freedom, peace and for the good. But to fight chaos out of pure hatred.

There's an interesting idea in the novel "Agent of Chaos" by Norman Spinrad (nothing to do with 40k admittedly) that this reminds me of. In that story he puts forward the idea that 'in order to be truly chaotic, chaos must not only be the enemy of order, it must also be the enemy of chaos'. That makes sense to me because if a force is totally focused on one aim (anti order), then isn't that very orderly itself?
I especially like the lore surrounding Malal's followers. It's demons are gifted with various weapons and abilities that destroy other chaos entities and the sons of malice fight in complete and utterly disturbing silence. To top it off, they eat their foes. Creepy.)

I personally think that Malice is a fairly cool concept, considering that the CHAOS gods all have some sense of order and goals attributed to them, Khorne even has some sort of honor-code if I'm not mistaken. Malice could be just a self-destructive TRUE chaos that just never really becomes relevant because there is no plan, no structure, no order. Chaos in its purest sense.
I like tge idea of "chaos tau" as part of a god that is symbolic of rebellion for its own sake. From there it spreads to other factions, as the birth of slaaneah affected the Emperor's Childiren legion.. Which would also be GW showing in the lore that chaos it's not only growing but spreading wherever it's born
I have been tempted for awhile to make a renegade chapter called 'The Host of Malice'. While Malal may not be one of the prime ruinous powers, he definitely exists as a warp entity of some renown. We know that not warp all entities are malicious (some are beneficial on the very rare occasion, and the fact that the emperor has shards that work in keeping the imperium alive is proof of a similar situation, as well as multiple saint celestine's in operation). If you want to be honest, the chaos gods are chaotic but focused on a single facet of chaos. The chaos of war, the chaos of excess, the chaos of disease, the chaos of manipulation, but we dont have a major chaos entity that aspires to be anarchy for the sake of chaos. As the demon primarchs have shown us, the chaos powers are very stuck in their way, and in their own way the chaos powers have become stagnant themselves.
You know, how obsessed the empire is with destroying the chaos gods in Warhammer 40K. I could see Malice consuming the Empire of man same way slaanesh consumed the Eldar Empire.
Heroes of the Space Marines (Anthology) - The Labyrinth (Short Story) by Richard Ford is very much cannon. He is the only Chaos god since about 5th edition that has entered the material universe through summoning. Great video, I always Support Malal. Even had a Sons of Malice Army.
the funny part is if you look at the old pictures of Malice/Malal he looks like a Skaven Verminlord. There was a theory that he was actually the Great Horned Rat and that the Skaven are actually completely quiet in his presence, it's only when they are forced to be without him that they get chittery and cowardly. The true reason why GW got rid of him is because they don't have the trademark for him, the guy from Rogue Trader does. Plain and simple, he threatened copyright, they buckled and walked away.
The Emperor would make a decent chaos god as well. As he's more about order I understand not including him. But what about the gods of the Orks - Gork and Mork? They seem pretty chaotic to me...
I feel like Malice as the singular emobodiment of Chaos might fix the issue of him being a self-contradictory Ruinous Power. He would be the reflection of all four Chaos Gods as one and yet also dependent on them for his own survival. A sort of Avatar of Chaos in general.

I like the idea of a chapter of Space Marines who"s drive is the undoing of everything, a truly mad and directionless chapter! I could see their home world being a cacophony of unraveling trust and order.
Are Malal and Malice one and the same or separate entities? My interpretation of the 80s lore is that Malal, an entity of just hate, was possibly 1 of the first 3 chaos gods, the other 2 being Tezneetch and Nurgle. The war between the Old Ones and Necrontyr created Khorne, which weakened Malal as Khorne took much of the emotional energy Malal was, Malal continued to exist but in a much weakened state relegating it to a secondary or tertiary entity. Similar to Gork and Mork being the warp manifestations of the Waagh, the Horned Rat of the skaven, or the Old gods of the Eldar are secondary warp entities that exist or existed at one point they are not as powerful as the 4 primary warp gods, Slaanesh being the youngest created by the Elder fall destroying most of their old gods existence in the warp. I see Malice described here as a possible aspect of or off shoot of Malal but not the same warp entity, which would just make Malice a lesser chaos God not the 5th. I see the Chaos Gods/Powers similar to their daemons, their are the 4 greater gods but also many lesser gods created by other aspects of the warp. Although it was also postulated that the Black Legion actually devoted itself to Malal and not chaos undivided after the fall of Horus as they now seem to hate everyone including other chaos space marines equally.
malice - noun- desire to inflict injury, harm, or suffering on another. the god of ill will is present in korn, tezech and slanesh. you could show this space marines chapter that is blood thursty, but not rage fuled were ther actions are planed and controled. so not bersurkers, but a blend of the plotting of tezech, desire from slanesh
I really like the idea of Malice the Hidden Chaos God because Malice is Order out of Chaos. Chaos self disintegrates into chaos eventually. I just love the idea that the 4 Main Chaos Gods have a fear of this hidden element within their space. One that will inevitably outlast them. When GW retconned him out, I felt this was a huge mistake. The Malice idea is just great. He doesn't represent order, he represents chaos settling down. Heat death. He's something that will outlast them all
I have not been able to find very much info on what the mutations of Mallal look like. A spin that I would find most interesting is if he would be the God of self loathing, self hatred, shame and suicidal tendency. It would fit his parasitic nature and that is an emotion you could really sell. A primarch sends his chapter to slaughter by his mistake, Mallal fuels his thoughts and feeds on his pain, giving him strength so he could bring further ruin. And his mutations would be maws that eat the flesh that is ever regenerating, keeping subjects in a place of pain. (Giveaway worthy idea?)
The Sons of Malice are still considered cannon, and even had a story about them bringing Malice into the Materium published a few years ago. Malice is a 40K God, but he might not be considered specifically a Chaos God at this point. Just what Malice is has been left ambiguous, but he is considered a part of lore. My personal theory is Malice is either one of the Lost Primarchs who somehow achieved apotheosis, or (more disturbingly) what happened to Leman Russ after he disappeared. The Sons of Malice seem a lot like descendants of the Space Wolves to me, and Malice actually being Russ turned into a mad God still bent on destroying Chaos would make an alarming amount of sense.
Is Captain Titus now a warier of Malice? The last thing he said is that you have failed, and it sounded as if it was repressed hatred. He also has unusual powers for a space marine, such as self regeneration from demonic inflicted wounds. The ability to withstand Warp Energy and the ability to literally call upon his fury to destroy his enemies.
It's also possible the actual emperor of man could become Malice, as he sits there kept alive in vain as people do what he told them not to. So now he sits in rage, wanting to destroy all things and people. The Emperor Is Malice!!!!!
The 4 chaos gods also have and represent good things. Tzeench though he is the reason people make evil plans he is also the reason people are smart enough to foil said plans, Nergl represents disease and rot, but he also represents consistancy and by some extent comfort. Everything has to rot so in a way he is nature incarnate. Without Korn there might be no war, but there would also be no strength, justice, honor. And slenesh embodies all that weird and rapey shit, but... he/she/it represents happiness, enjoyment, culture. Without slenesh there is no joy. However I also think this might apply to malice maybe being balance or freedom, but that's problebly a streach
I think that it would be good to bring him back. The more powerful the Chaos Gods are, the more he can take from them. Seems reasonable that he hasn't been around because he's been letting them grow, as well as a race such as the Tau as you mention. The Cicatrix Maledictum story ark, as well as all that's going on with Chaos at the moment could play out to be a great opportunity for Malice to come back once it's all done and dusted. It would need a more in depth and intricate integration rather than a blunt force entry, but I would personally love to see him come back with a wealth of new things that we've never seen. Who knows what he was up to whilst away...
What if Malal is actually like a misunderstood Anarcho-Syndicalist and he's actually pretty reasonable and the only good guy in the universe. He's just over there in his corner like "the only universal conquest I care about is the conquest of bread."

Malice lives! There are some who say there are books recently published by BL that support this... But it would be a minor power, since as an antithesis it can never become stronger than the powers it feeds off of and opposes - plus it's not a 'pure' power like the others. Would be cool to see some new demon designs, though.

Should Malice ever become active and brought into the physical realm, he mostly would have too many enemies against him. Each Chaos Master would not want any of their followers to fall under his influence. Also, the Imperium Of Man would not dare ally with such a nut job. I do think though it would be interesting to see a fifth Master of Chaos to appear during the conflict and become the added issue that the forces of order would have to face.
I would argue that the emotion of betrayal and rebellion is one of the most powerful feelings of all the known universe. Humans who grow from children to young adults do nothing but rebel. They question their superiors, and the way of the old consistently. It is in human nature. The Orcs are another source of betrayal. There is so much infighting and backstabbing just to keep them in perpetual war that this could fuel Malice. The entire inquisition, religious casts and their billions of followers betraying what the Emperor of man stood for is yet another form of fuel. Every chapter that turns to chaos as well. And every time a champion of chaos betrays another, or undermines their counterpart is yet again more fuel. There is no shortage of what could fuel the God of anarchy and rebellion as even the great God Emperor is himself a presence in the warp that is in opposition to the chaos gods. What more would malice need than that?

I have been following this channel for about a month now; listening during my daily commute. I love the 40K lore. Its always funny when someone next to me hears from my car "The chaos gods and the forces of chaos that serve them" and slowly turn to look and see if I look as crazy as I sound.

To me, Malice as god of anarchy makes no sense, because anarchy is not a feeling. But. It would be nice to re-introduce him as a god of terror and fear, because this is a very stong feeling and none of 4 other gods represent it. God of Fear and Terror would be awesome and would fit the lore well.

His emotional realm covers the crushing obedience of subservience that comes from fear and shame. His sacred number is 5 and he demands sacrifices of 1000s of souls (Psykers) to his alter.

Malice should represent the emotion that can be stronger than anger or thirst for pleasure; lack of emotion. Apathy. Why not create a Chaos God who wants nothing but to bring everything to the void?
He does that's what malice wants to do. However such a God shouldn’t be too powerful because MOST people like living. The only time you would WANT to want to not live would be if there is something wrong with you because by definition desire is a positive thing. Your motivations are enforced by positive emotions so that God would be weak. If you want to murder someone that's still positive because you'll feel good or right in killing them.

I really like the concept of the chaos gods having a seemingly good intention grotesquingly twisted (Nurgle rebuilding the galaxy into something better, Slanesh giving pleasure, Tzeench spreading knowledge, Khorne ... ?) so this malice god is hard to fit well for it wants to destroy chaos (which can be seen as evil) with equal brutality, but it has no long term independent goal like the other gods have.
For Khorne it's giving strength to those that deserve it. For Malice it would be purification, or the desire to rebuild.

Actually the Dark Gods are, well, not evil. Nurgle is also a god of compassion and love, Tzeentch is patron of hope and progress, Khorne despises cowards and unhonorable scum, and Slaanesh favours ones who seek perfection and beauty, and Malal is strongly connected to justice and freedom. It is living creatures and their emotions who made gods dark. They are nothing more than a mirror of our souls. That's why Warhammer is so grimdark - evil has won long, long time ago, and it did so in hearts of men, eldar and all other species.

A long time ago in the pages of White Dwarf magazine or at least the yearly specials, there was a comic book concerning the Disciple of the Chaos God Malal - Kaleb Daark/ Dark. That's the source of "Malice". It was canon 25 years ago. It was meant to be random. He was a lone wolf with great powers.

One of my favorite topics in Warhammer. Only thing missing in the video I feel is the idea that at the end, Malice will out live all the other Chaos Gods, and they know it. They fear him but know deep within that Malice will remain. And that they have no chance.

Malus or Malal was originally a minor Chaos god in Warhammer Fantasy Battle. There were also gods of Law such as Solkan which were the opposite of Chaos gods in that they embodied supreme order and had angels rather than daemons in their armies, those weren't brought over from WFB though. Orginally in 40K there were meant to be numerous other minor Chaos gods these were lumped together as 'Independents' and Malus would have been classed as one of those if you wanted to make a Chaos that followed him.

Malice is probably part of all emotions that the gods of chaos feed off. I remember in fantasy how he was sealed away by the Chaos Gods of order and destruction because he was just THAT powerful. To balance out that, they had to seal off a Chaos God of Order, so that there were 4 Gods on each side. So there is no way he is weaker than the other 4. He is probably the strongest. Damn, I have such a badass idea for his champion that my spine gets shivers.
To be more specific, Primaris Librarian full body, but head replaced with that of a Crimson Slaughter Space Marine. Then paint him to colours of black Legion because suprisingly those are his colours.

There's an interesting idea in the novel "Agent of Chaos" by Norman Spinrad (nothing to do with 40k admittedly) that this reminds me of. In that story he puts forward the idea that 'in order to be truly chaotic, chaos must not only be the enemy of order, it must also be the enemy of chaos'. That makes sense to me because if a force is totally focused on one aim (anti order), then isn't that very orderly itself?

I especially like the lore surrounding Malal's followers. It's demons are gifted with various weapons and abilities that destroy other chaos entities and the sons of malice fight in complete and utterly disturbing silence. To top it off, they eat their foes. Creepy.)

I personally think that Malice is a fairly cool concept, considering that the CHAOS gods all have some sense of order and goals attributed to them, Khorne even has some sort of honor-code if I'm not mistaken. Malice could be just a self-destructive TRUE chaos that just never really becomes relevant because there is no plan, no structure, no order. Chaos in its purest sense.
Did Malice not turn a Space Marine chapter? I seem to remember a warband/chapter called Children of Malice or Disciples of Malice.

I like tge idea of "chaos tau" as part of a god that is symbolic of rebellion for its own sake. From there it spreads to other factions, as the birth of slaaneah affected the Emperor's Childiren legion.. Which would also be GW showing in the lore that chaos it's not only growing but spreading wherever it's born

I have been tempted for awhile to make a renegade chapter called 'The Host of Malice'. While Malal may not be one of the prime ruinous powers, he definitely exists as a warp entity of some renown. We know that not warp all entities are malicious (some are beneficial on the very rare occasion, and the fact that the emperor has shards that work in keeping the imperium alive is proof of a similar situation, as well as multiple saint celestine's in operation). If you want to be honest, the chaos gods are chaotic but focused on a single facet of chaos. The chaos of war, the chaos of excess, the chaos of disease, the chaos of manipulation, but we dont have a major chaos entity that aspires to be anarchy for the sake of chaos. As the demon primarchs have shown us, the chaos powers are very stuck in their way, and in their own way the chaos powers have become stagnant themselves.
You know, how obsessed the empire is with destroying the chaos gods in Warhammer 40K. I could see Malice consuming the Empire of man same way slaanesh consumed the Eldar Empire.
Heroes of the Space Marines (Anthology) - The Labyrinth (Short Story) by Richard Ford is very much cannon. He is the only Chaos god since about 5th edition that has entered the material universe through summoning.

the funny part is if you look at the old pictures of Malice/Malal he looks like a Skaven Verminlord. There was a theory that he was actually the Great Horned Rat and that the Skaven are actually completely quiet in his presence, it's only when they are forced to be without him that they get chittery and cowardly.
The true reason why GW got rid of him is because they don't have the trademark for him, the guy from Rogue Trader does. Plain and simple, he threatened copyright, they buckled and walked away.

I feel like Malice as the singular emobodiment of Chaos might fix the issue of him being a self-contradictory Ruinous Power. He would be the reflection of all four Chaos Gods as one and yet also dependent on them for his own survival. A sort of Avatar of Chaos in general.

Are Malal and Malice one and the same or separate entities? My interpretation of the 80s lore is that Malal, an entity of just hate, was possibly 1 of the first 3 chaos gods, the other 2 being Tezneetch and Nurgle. The war between the Old Ones and Necrontyr created Khorne, which weakened Malal as Khorne took much of the emotional energy Malal was, Malal continued to exist but in a much weakened state relegating it to a secondary or tertiary entity. Similar to Gork and Mork being the warp manifestations of the Waagh, the Horned Rat of the skaven, or the Old gods of the Eldar are secondary warp entities that exist or existed at one point they are not as powerful as the 4 primary warp gods, Slaanesh being the youngest created by the Elder fall destroying most of their old gods existence in the warp. I see Malice described here as a possible aspect of or off shoot of Malal but not the same warp entity, which would just make Malice a lesser chaos God not the 5th. I see the Chaos Gods/Powers similar to their daemons, their are the 4 greater gods but also many lesser gods created by other aspects of the warp. Although it was also postulated that the Black Legion actually devoted itself to Malal and not chaos undivided after the fall of Horus as they now seem to hate everyone including other chaos space marines equally.

Farsight's sword is believed to be an artifact from to C'tan. It could be possible that GW could bring Malice back as a forgotten C'tan.
I really like the idea of Malice the Hidden Chaos God because Malice is Order out of Chaos. Chaos self disintegrates into chaos eventually. I just love the idea that the 4 Main Chaos Gods have a fear of this hidden element within their space. One that will inevitably outlast them. When GW retconned him out, I felt this was a huge mistake. The Malice idea is just great. He doesn't represent order, he represents chaos settling down. Heat death. He's something that will outlast them all
I have not been able to find very much info on what the mutations of Mallal look like. A spin that I would find most interesting is if he would be the God of self loathing, self hatred, shame and suicidal tendency. It would fit his parasitic nature and that is an emotion you could really sell. A primarch sends his chapter to slaughter by his mistake, Mallal fuels his thoughts and feeds on his pain, giving him strength so he could bring further ruin. And his mutations would be maws that eat the flesh that is ever regenerating, keeping subjects in a place of pain.

The Sons of Malice are still considered cannon, and even had a story about them bringing Malice into the Materium published a few years ago. Malice is a 40K God, but he might not be considered specifically a Chaos God at this point. Just what Malice is has been left ambiguous, but he is considered a part of lore.
My personal theory is Malice is either one of the Lost Primarchs who somehow achieved apotheosis, or (more disturbingly) what happened to Leman Russ after he disappeared. The Sons of Malice seem a lot like descendants of the Space Wolves to me, and Malice actually being Russ turned into a mad God still bent on destroying Chaos would make an alarming amount of sense.

Is Captain Titus now a warier of Malice? The last thing he said is that you have failed, and it sounded as if it was repressed hatred. He also has unusual powers for a space marine, such as self regeneration from demonic inflicted wounds. The ability to withstand Warp Energy and the ability to literally call upon his fury to destroy his enemies.
It's also possible the actual emperor of man could become Malice, as he sits there kept alive in vain as people do what he told them not to. So now he sits in rage, wanting to destroy all things and people. The Emperor Is Malice!!!!!
The 4 chaos gods also have and represent good things. Tzeench though he is the reason people make evil plans he is also the reason people are smart enough to foil said plans, Nergl represents disease and rot, but he also represents consistancy and by some extent comfort. Everything has to rot so in a way he is nature incarnate. Without Korn there might be no war, but there would also be no strength, justice, honor. And slenesh embodies all that weird and rapey shit, but... he/she/it represents happiness, enjoyment, culture. Without slenesh there is no joy. However I also think this might apply to malice maybe being balance or freedom, but that's problebly a streach
I think that it would be good to bring him back. The more powerful the Chaos Gods are, the more he can take from them. Seems reasonable that he hasn't been around because he's been letting them grow, as well as a race such as the Tau as you mention. The Cicatrix Maledictum story ark, as well as all that's going on with Chaos at the moment could play out to be a great opportunity for Malice to come back once it's all done and dusted. It would need a more in depth and intricate integration rather than a blunt force entry, but I would personally love to see him come back with a wealth of new things that we've never seen. Who knows what he was up to whilst away...
