One thing that never gets talked about with the Ducati is it's terrible fuel range . I had always wanted a Ducati and was really up for buying a streetfighter until I test rode one . Brimmed the tank at the start of the test ride . Ten minutes steady riding to get acclimatised to it then rode it pretty quickly for the rest of the test. 76 miles and fuel gone . Not exceptable Ducati . Bought the superduke instead . It gets between 110 and 120 ridden like you stole it .
Yeah. It looks like the Super Dukes are ending up with ever better fuel consumption. It'll be interesting to see the range of the next gen. SDGT when that comes out with nearly double the tank size.

How come the Triumph Speed Triple 1050 RS was left out of this shootout? Not that I think it would win against the Tuono, but Michael Rutter did lap it pretty faster than a lot of nakeds and superbikes at Donnington.
Just a small note on the comment about being able to sell the S1000R 5 years later for R1k less... Have you seen the price of 2015 S1000R's? They were +-200k new and now selling for about R90-R115k. A 2017-2018 model, which was 220k new, sells around R140-R150k. The only thing that loses value faster is an R1200GS.

Interestingly, in the USA the Kawasaki Z-H2 is the cheapest bike out of the bunch you tested, in fact with the current dealer incentives, it can be had for almost half the price of a V4S. Seems really strange that in SA it's the most expensive. Truly a great value (in the US), though I just can't get over the look of that front end.
I believe this category is not track oriented is a utilitarian motorcycle real world I believe that the best one is the Kawasaki due to proven reliability and you can put Kawasaki panniers integrated system. The h2 unrestricted is the most powerful of all 230+ hp where the other ones reach their ceiling faster.

Ride them all, you will buy the H2. Lets not forget the H2 has an ecu which severely restricts its performance. Once flashed, ypu can add 30-40 rear wheel hp to it. There is the WOW factor and only the H2 has it.
Agreed mate. Iv owned all the other bikes they are testing here. Enjoyed some. Disliked some. The zh2 currently is making me want to go out again and again. Very unique riding experience. Needs a smaller louder exhaust and it starts to talk to u. I love my 19 tuono factory too shes a keeper

V4’s are too smooth. I enjoy triples and V2’s. Of course, I own a Super Duke 1290r aNd a MV Agusta Dragster 800rr Pirelli Edition. I almost bought the Streetfighter but the MV’s look, small size and weight won me over. The beauty and the beast. Both bikes easy to work on.
I don't understand taking naked bikes to a track for testing. Naked bikes are for real world riding --- and I would say as great as the Streetfighter is, you can't use any of the power and chassis properly legally on the road.
Hopefully the Aprilia will finally have led headlight like the 660. I own a Super Duke r, loved the headlight. The Ducati is pretty but more like a semi naked like the Aprilia. The SD offers most useable street rpm vs the Streetfighter is track focused high rpm. The Super Duke makes more horsepower of all of them until it hits its 9500 redline. The SD starts making 80 Ft pounds of torque from 3500 rpm
The Streetfighter is Essentially still a panigale with no fairings. Just buy a Panigale with more comfort. It is a track focused high rpm bike. The SD gives all the torque and horsepower below 9500 rpm for street use rpm.
Hey, I was wondering if you can help me how I can record video's on my bike without wind noice? I have a GoPro Hero 7 with the sound adapter and a mic with a deadcat, but on my recordings their is still wind noice.
Best bang for the buck is still Aprilia. I like the KTM but its more than tripple the price in insurence in Sweden comp to a Tuono so that bike is not an option. Also I dont like KTM and the way you have to unlock things for cash that already is on the bike. Completly BS if you ask me. ZH2 ugly and heavy. BMW inline 4 boredom. V4S to expensive and to rewy to find power.
The dyno results for the Aprilia V4 pretty much lay on top of Ducati from idle to Aprilia redline. I'm a big fan of the Tuono... but if midrange power is hard to find on the Duc it's hard to find on the Aprilia. IMO they're both solid in the midrange unless you compare them to the Superduke (which is absurdly strong midrange). I agree with the assessment that for the street the Tuono is probably the best all around... because the SFv4s is a LOT more expensive and the power advantage is only usable on the street at extra-legal speeds in most places. However... IMO they're all pretty awesome bikes.
@@kuhndj67 this is not only to do with the torque but even more on the way the Tuono is geared. The duc and the ape is wery even in acceleration upp to 220 km/h. And to lurk out the last 30hp advantage in the duc you realy have to rew it all upp to 15k wich means you have to work 5k rews more in every gear.
Best track bike? Learn to be a better rider and you'll beat the others on a Street 765 RS. Track to me is about fun. Best road bike well i think they hit the last nail in the coffin at 15:50. Zh2 is king on the road. Iv owned all the others. Currently own the zh2 and a 19 tuono factory. Best bikes in their class.

The most naked out the lot are probs the ones with over 200bhp! Think that's just the way with modern nakeds. They have that much power u need some sort of aero to aid the stability and a little leaning forward to help stop ur head coming off at 150mph! Imagine a proper 100% naked muscle bike like a cb1300 or xjr300 but with 180bhp.. ppl would have chronic neck ache!
@Andy Freeman interesting opinion the MT-10 rear wheel dynos out within about 5hp of the BMW. Definitely the same league as I’ve taken many down on the track even straight line.
It’s just a number to brag on. The superduke is incredibly fun. When I had my 2017 R1 I did everything and got it dynoed. Still didn’t reach 200 Hp and that thing was stupid fast. If the number being less than 200 Hp is a breaking point then your loss but the superduke is a blast

KTM have a habit of being very conservative with their power output claims, and most of the dyno charts I've seen have shown the SDR, SDGT etc. to have as much as, if not more than, the claimed power, whereas none of the others will even get close to their claim on a dyno. If you look at the "top speeds" in this video you'll see that the supposedly least powerful bike (SDR) is not down on top speed against any of the others bar the H2. Boring out the 1290 (actually it's a 1301) would be much more than a rebore, it'd mean a completely new engine, and I'm not convinced there is any significant advantage. A bigger engine will certainly weigh more, and weight is one of the big things about the SDR.
Get the Rotty Stage 6 and Akra kit, and you'll have 200hp and 119 ft lbs of torque...and more comfort...and a longer tank range...and ease of offroad conversion. KTM 1290 when modded is honestly still the best bike in the lot.
So on the acceleration test - the Duc has power limited in lower gears and that might have messed up your accel. test. Already there are ecu fixes for that stupidity.
No.. Ducati's v4 is designed for high rpm. The stupidity here is you thinking that increasing power, in first especially, will net faster acceleration times. It doesn't accelerate the hardest and there are tests out there that support this. It's a track weapon
@@hnic72 The Pani's and Streetfighters have ECU limits on power delivery in the gears that were clearly used in the accel test... educate yourself then come back and say something intelligent instead of asinine.
@@M4rkmcc21 I guess I don't think of a firmware update as a mod but yea technically it's not stock - even if IMO Ducati should have provided a non-power limited mode from the factory. I suspect we'll see an OEM 'update' that removes the lower gear limits (track mode or something like that) but it doesn't exist yet.

If you look at the "top speeds" in this video you'll see that the supposedly least powerful bike (SDR) is not down on top speed against any of the others bar the H2.
Boring out the 1290 (actually it's a 1301) would be much more than a rebore, it'd mean a completely new engine, and I'm not convinced there is any significant advantage. A bigger engine will certainly weigh more, and weight is one of the big things about the SDR.
Get the Rotty Stage 6 and Akra kit, and you'll have 200hp and 119 ft lbs of torque...and more comfort...and a longer tank range...and ease of offroad conversion. KTM 1290 when modded is honestly still the best bike in the lot.

So on the acceleration test - the Duc has power limited in lower gears and that might have messed up your accel. test. Already there are ecu fixes for that stupidity.
No.. Ducati's v4 is designed for high rpm. The stupidity here is you thinking that increasing power, in first especially, will net faster acceleration times. It doesn't accelerate the hardest and there are tests out there that support this. It's a track weapon
@@hnic72 The Pani's and Streetfighters have ECU limits on power delivery in the gears that were clearly used in the accel test... educate yourself then come back and say something intelligent instead of asinine.

@@M4rkmcc21 I guess I don't think of a firmware update as a mod but yea technically it's not stock - even if IMO Ducati should have provided a non-power limited mode from the factory. I suspect we'll see an OEM 'update' that removes the lower gear limits (track mode or something like that) but it doesn't exist yet.
Next time you upload a video like this, put in the instructions " please watch with a pen and a paper to take notes, as it will be like a college lecture, rather than an exciting motorcycle riding video presentation". Why are the vidoes getting boring?
