Bought some lights after I saw your video and installed them by myself just by watching your video, without reading any of instructions 😉 THANK YOU!!!!
I’ve had mine installed on my ‘20 Trail Boss for about 4 months now, love the look. I used a remote controlled relay switch wired to power under the hood, took the remote and programmed the garage door opener switches to run the lights, no reason to try to run wires into the cab.
Here’s the switch that I used, it came with a relay but I used the one with the light kit. Nice thing is that the connectors matched the ones with the kit relay so no ugly butt connectors and tape to be seen. I just put the remote in the console just in case I would ever need to reprogram the garage door opener. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DOUV83K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This a great video...love how you showed the ups and downs about this process. I will definitely be doing this to my Silverado very soon. Thanks for doing this...look forward to your upcoming videos.
I had my first attempt to remove the grill today but I got really frustrated and I got scared that it was going to break from pulling too hard. But after seeing this I'll give it another try tomorrow, hopefully I'll make it work. Great video 👍
I purchased the wireless key fob and you can turn on lights with no switch. It works great. You attach the controller where the switch wire connects. Awesome.
I purchased here...www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01M1FBSIL?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title. Rough Country also sells one. Wherever you can find it in stock.
Just picked up the GM upfitter aux switch kit. Gives a full harness and 5 switches along with a stock GM kicker panel that it mounts into below the steering wheel. Super clean and looks stock. Not bad for $250. Just ordered this kit and gonna use it for my ditch lights as well for the boss.
I installed the same ones on my pickup! I measured liked 10 times to cut once and still took my time cutting it. They are amazing lights bro! You made a great choice! I cut that ugly push button to a blue toggle witch, which I mounted to the big square empty slots below the radio, lights up blue like the lights when lights on and double lights when I toggle the switch. Great addition man!💪🏻🤘🏻
Just installed these and the wide spotlights from RC. I have not been able to test in total darkness or in a decent dark location due to being in a city. I'm taking my boys camping this weekend and cannot wait to see what they really look like. Either way, I am happy with how they look on the truck now. Adds a good look to an already sexy truck.
Just found you today since im looking at buying one started with the classaction lawsuit video now im watching the whooe playlist on the trailboss love your videos so far!!!
Man, I just removed my grill about 3 weeks back on 2021 Trail Boss, they are such a pain to remove. I was just about as frustrated as you were at first portion of the removal.
I would personally leave that little light on the switch. It looks like you tapped into a fuse, what you could do, so that light isn’t always on, is tap into a different fuse that only has power when the vehicle is on. Then you won’t have any battery draw, and you won’t be able to accidentally forget that you have your lights on and kill your battery.
How can I tap into a fuse I just wired up my led light bar and fog lamps that came with a rough country bumper but I have the red light on for the switches, definitely don’t wanna drain my battery
Ive been running that switch 2 years no problem, even in extreme canadian winters and even after leaving car off for days… i doubt that light draws enough to hurt battery
I was so excited for these led’s when I first saw on ebay, then I saw your video and got more excited from your review specially when you said for aaages, I replied that section many times to see the difference when you switch them on but it was just few seconds so couldn’t tell and made my decision based on your words, so I ordered them and got them installed (without breaking the clips on the grill)😂, but when I first turned them on I got disappointed😔 It’s not what I thought or hoped, but in all they are good, the beam is almost circle ⭕️ , its very sideway and wide up to the sky, & because I was expecting so I bought the RC hood spot led’s too, and that’s made the smile on my face😁, its a good combination, but these alone wasn’t satisfying, was planning to get the adapter for the side mirrors but these works instead, Don’t make me excited then break my heart 💔😂, remember I’m watching you👀 All the best bro…✌🏼😎
FYI that light that stays on on the switch will never kill or drain the battery. i had one of the same and painted over the light and it was in my truck for 2 years with no issue. i agree they suck but worked just fine.
I pulled my grill for the first time and it scared the ....... out of me, only broke one white clip. I need to buy some but have not looked for them. Cool install.
I know I am late to the naming of the Camaro. But just for fun God “Z” lla. Great videos and information. I am currently waiting on my first ever new car to be delivered and I chose a Trail Boss. After watching several of your videos I can’t wait for it to get here at the end of September.
You need to find a switched 12v source, not a 12v constant, that way the light with only be on when the truck is on, all you done is kept power to the switch and removed the switch led ground, so it doesn’t light up red or green, still drains on the battery
My companies are all named Black Tie... The name just pops for people. And it looks like the car is dressed for a formal with the black bow tie. Go for it!
@@LonestarHawaiian and I just bought the same truck, 2021 Trail Boss Black. Love it. Doing some of the same mods on mine and following your videos religiously.
I put my exterior LED bars on a 4 port remote switch mounted next to the battery and obviously the remote inside with me, no ugly switches or running anything through the firewall. You should check out the Pulsar LT module that just came out for this generation GM truck, auto start-stop disable, DFM disable, governor disable, etc. By far the best thing I've done to my 2020 Sierra Elevation so far.
Boost Auto Parts sells a wire tap for a 6 high mod. Have it on my 2007.5 GMC Sierra 2500HD. Fog lights stay on when high beams come on. Side note: if fog lights and high beams are off with this mod, by only turning high beams on, fog lights will also turn on as well.
Awesome!! Been wanting to get these lights for my trail boss so now I guess it’s time!! Also for the auto stop check out Autostop Eliminator. It’s a plug and play that plugs up behind the switch and keeps the switch off but still allows you to turn it back on when you want it. 🤙
@@LonestarHawaiian wasn’t terribly difficult. It was more nerve racking more than anything because of the thin plastic and metal clips. Truck Ownership: 101 has a good install video that helped a lot. Those nylon pry bars and tape help a lot though.

Question. Would these be able to get hooked up to an auxbeam 8 gang switch panel and be able to be turned on and off by that? Instead of using that little flimsy switch that comes with them
