Took your advice and went to a recommended garage with diagnostic gizmo.seemingly glow plug relay i put in (new) was faulty. e bay special! Replaced it with a proper one for a dacia duster a lot more expensive but was worth it no more limp mode or lights oon dashboard .once again thankyou.
1.9 04 vivaro shite start in the winter every frost it starts just had it mapped and those codes were sitting was wanting to get mine done but now im going to check this so thanks for the video appreciated 💙
I've got a issue with glow plugs I bought new ones lol I'm gonna check this 1st as I've not changed them yet and struggling to start 👍🏻 thanks for the video mine a vivaro 1.9cdti 2006
I have a 2006 Renault Master 2.5 CDI, with an intermittent glow plug problem, I have changed the relay, I also noticed the light would come on when cold, but not when hot. The temperature gauge is not showing a hot temperature, when you turn on the ignition when the engine is hot, but the fuel gauge works. I changed the temperature sender, again, fine when cold, and temperature gauge reads fine once hot, but as soon as you turn off the ignition, and try to restart a hot engine, the gauge is not showing a temperature , glow plug light / relay won't work, if I unplug the hot sensor and plug in a cold sensor, it will work, any ideas please ?
Is it easy to Access the relay on an F15 2015 Nissan juke? Is it just a case of remove the battery and tray? Or is there a better way to do it? Thanks, in advance. Just trying to find a handy guide rather than learn on the job as it is a friend’s car.
I'm grateful to have found this video as I'm tinkering with my Nissan Kubistar 2008 (a model which pretty much is a Nissan-badged Kangoo). I have to ask you who seems to be a good mechanic and might know this. What is that drawn out beeping sound in the background?...if you go to 0:52 into the video it is clearly heard in the background, but it also sounds while you are talking about the relay. I have the same background noise on my car, and wonder where it is coming from. Do you think it is normal or is there something wrong when that sound is heard? The reason I ask is that the car can't seem to get rid of error code P0670 despite new glow plugs, im clearing the code but it comes back, and I'm starting to wonder if the noise has anything to do with the error.

thanks so much for trying to help us out in what can be tough times..my mums Dacia Duster is getting codes for injector 1 circuit A and the glowplug circuit A too so I'll try to check these boxes first as we're broke but the garages here are saying it has to go to the main dealers as they can't program in the new parts with their computers but i think I'll try checking the wiring first as we can't even afford a new injector off eBay so I'm hoping i can figure out if there's a corroded wire after seeing this.. thanks so much.. could it just be a fuse? I'm not sure what "circuit A" refers to but I'm thinking if both faults (on my cheap obd reader) say it's circuit A then maybe it's a fuse as we had to jump start it after my mum left the radio on in it bless her.. I'm trying to help her out so any advice would be hugely appreciated but no problem if not.. best wishes to you from a fellow Celt up in Scotland! :)
Unfortunately open circuit usually means a faulty part. If its a problem with the wiring it comes up as "high resistance " more often than not. Sorry to hear about your troubles. I hope you get it resolved.
Can you test the glow plug module, ie power and earth in on the big spades, 4 injector out, but the 2 smaller wires, should one of them be power in to operate the relay ?
Hi I’ve 380/670 and I’ve a solid immon light on dash I’ve no glow plug light / service light proper scratching my head I’ve had 3 auto electricians on it done earth checked wiring replaced fps doing regulator Monday but any hints would be appreciated .. also replaced glow plug relay from my other running vehicle cheers buddy
I got a 2008 Ford fiesta that's a diesel and I got a warning light showing something was up and I had used a scanner to check the code and it was a code p380-60 and said it was something wrong with the glow plug control circuit just wondering if you'd know what would be my best option to go ahead with
Hi sorry to comment here but on a 2ltr m9 I get consistent error code p0002 and p0002F6 but runs ok turn ign off and back on clears for short while getting worse which would be the best move on the fuel pressure rail to change or would boost worth doing clean everything suspect wire damage but where to check first
I have this code, and my van (vivaro 04) goes into limp mode with glow light and another light, reset it by turning off and on clears, then comes back, could this be the problem do you think? Seems to happen more when im on a bypass or motorway, doesnt come on round town, ive also heard the relay box may also be an issue
Hi I got a Renault traffic with the p0380 code van won’t even turn over I’m based in cardiff is this something you could help me with many thanks james
Depending on the year of the vehicle, If its after 2012 then the vehicle is fitted with a dpf and the glowplugs are needed for the self cleaning process. So if the dpf starts to block up that would lead to it being underpowered or limp mode.
Hi I have the 2016 1.6 traffic with the engine light on and the code reader is saying glow plug circuit A I’ve replaced the plugs and changed the relay but the engine light still comes on have you got any ideas please
I’m told these newer models don’t always show a voltage at the plugs but there isn’t a voltage showing also I’ve replaced the glow plug relay and the main terminal in relay is showing battery voltage

Absolute star , sorted glowplug fault I've had forever .... wrong relay supplied by factors as you pointed out
Fantastic, glad it helped you.

Awesome video. Thank you. I have this issue but wanting to have the relay before i start. If it is the cable I will re-solder it now also.

Hello, do you know anything about reprogramming the earlier engines designed for the obsolete 11v to take the new 7v plugs please? Thanks
Alright butti, changed plugs, changed relay, changed relay in fuze box still not working and light on on dash ?????
First things first, do you have power going to the glowplug relay
Can you test the glow plug module, ie power and earth in on the big spades, 4 injector out, but the 2 smaller wires, should one of them be power in to operate the relay ?

Tbh I'm not sure without having a look. I wouldn't want to send you down a blind alley. Good luck with it.
Hi I have a 2008 2.0 vivaro p0380 code, glow plug resistance is 0.4ohms is this to low? Module seems to be working
What voltage should be coming out to the glow plugs?
I got a 2008 Ford fiesta that's a diesel and I got a warning light showing something was up and I had used a scanner to check the code and it was a code p380-60 and said it was something wrong with the glow plug control circuit just wondering if you'd know what would be my best option to go ahead with
Check if you've got power going to the glow plugs. If you have then it's a glow plug issue , if you havnt it's a wiring or relay issue.

It could be a faulty control valve on the fuel pump, or the wiring to the fuel control solenoid on the fuel pump. I'd try those first.
I have this code, and my van (vivaro 04) goes into limp mode with glow light and another light, reset it by turning off and on clears, then comes back, could this be the problem do you think? The relay box ( if you havnt had the blue plug bypassed ) would be a good place to start. It could also be EGR valve or MAF sensor.
@@southwestinjectorremovals8932 thanks mate I'll have a look at it tomorrow, big help that appreciate it alot thank you
Hi I got a Renault traffic with the p0380 code van won’t even turn over I’m based in cardiff is this something you could help me with many thanks james
Iv got a nissan juke 1.5 dci with that code P0380, with that wire broke would that cause a misfire.
No it would not.
Do you know is there any way to test the control unit? Thanks
Yes put a multimeter to where the glowplug attaches and turn on the ignition, if there's no reading there's no power and your control unit is broken.
@@southwestinjectorremovals8932 great thank you
Happy days, a hope that's all I'm facing tomorrow 🤪
Legend
I have same faults but in addition engine is not starting. Is it possible that it is not starting because of those faults?
How do you test the actual relay unit
You put a light tester or voltmeter onto the terminal of the glowplug, if it is showing power when the ignition is on then your relay is working
Just got to sort po488 now☹️
Vivaro 2005,,1.9cdti,, glowplug light came on while driving,, stopped ok,, now van wont start,,
Well done!!
👍👍👍

What would the symptoms be if this happened? Limp mode?

Have you checked if there is power coming from the relay to the glowplugs
I’m told these newer models don’t always show a voltage at the plugs but there isn’t a voltage showing also I’ve replaced the glow plug relay and the main terminal in relay is showing battery voltage
If you put a test light or a voltmeter on the end of the glowplug connector and the engine isn't warm it should show voltage
