    I literally went through the same process but before installing. Noticed the housing was smaller so returned back to Advanced auto parts got refunded and went to auto zone for the right one. It was exactly the same. Good Thermostat replacement review

    Excellent video - thank you so much for posting! 😊 I watched your video twice, took some notes, and completed the thermostat replacement in about 30 minutes. I wanted to add a few thoughts to this thread to benefit others:
    Why did I replace my thermostat? - My check engine light came on with error P0128 -> the engine coolant is not getting warm enough, fast enough. My mechanic said most likely the thermostat was not working properly. Once I removed the thermostat, I saw that it was stuck in the open position, so I knew that was the problem.
    What thermostat did I buy? - As recommended, I bought the Duralast 15238 thermostat from Auto Zone. I measured the new thermostat, and the correct, thick housing width is 11/16.”
    How much coolant did I use? - I bought one gallon and that was enough to replace what I lost when I removed the housing, and it gave me enough to refill the plastic coolant reservoir to Min level.
    How to reset the warning light? - Before replacing the thermostat, I had the “Check Engine” warning light. After replacing the thermostat, I now had the “Service Engine Soon” light. The easiest and quickest fix to remove this warning light was to disconnect the battery for 30 seconds. Once I reconnected I had no more warning lights on the dash.

      @deusvult9349 Год назад

      @@Yourdoc1 If you look at Peak and Valvoline brands they are OEM approved for Infiniti's 2009 and up that are Borate, Silcate, and phosphate free. The aluminum engine blocks will corrode internally with those substances with them. It's not something that happens overnight, but with heat and time, you'll gum things up and have a bigger mess on your hands.

      Your engine is heated internally and the external temperature has very little affect short of below freezing, which you don't have a problem with. You're engine has a minimum operation temperature, and at the very least, your oil sump has to reach a minimum temperature for the viscosity rating of your oil to work effectively. If your oil stays too cool, it won't flow effectively and could damage your engine over time.

Today I back flushed the heater core and it was clogged. Changed the thermostat 2 times (same brand kinda thinking I should go with stock thermostat and will try that tomorrow). So is this sounds like a bad water pump? No sounds and no leaks from the water pump. And I try bleeding the life out of the system but it’s just goes crazy because the thermostat doesn’t open. Go with an oem thermostat always and make sure you bleed the air out completely. Also on my Hr i had to slightly jack up the front end to help with bleeding the air out better. I was also having problems with my coolant backflowing into my overflow but wasnt overheating but kept losing coolant in the overflow. But when you say it “goes crazy” when bleeding the system do you mean theirs lots of bubbles?? Hopefully not a headgaskey problem. If you see an excessive amount of bubbles when burping the system then i would first do a Coolant combustion leak test and see if any exhaust gases are escaping into the coolant which means a headgasket problem. But start with the small things first get an oem thermostat trust me these aftermarket ones are junk for our cars
