Thank you for this great video, I’ve been looking for a good bag pattern for a long time. I’m using some quite thick chainy cotton yarn which is working up nicely, but I think the size might not be quite right. Would you be able to share the measurements? The first part before you decrease the stitches on both sides - what is the height and width of that part - and what is the total length from top to bottom when finished - before joining the sides together. I have now ordered the kit and correct yarn for my next project. Thank you in advance :-)

The only down side is the Lion brand 24/7 cotton yarn pills very badly, and I'm constantly having to cut and pull them off. Frustrating. I'm now considering making another one and using a non-pilling yarn instead.

Question, on the written pattern it has the finished project measurements but by chance do you have the measurements to go along with the photo (the photo where it shows you how to join)? Good question. It just can’t be because mine is huge. I stopped making it because I can’t figure it out and it’s so beautiful

i can't read written patterns i get confused

Your written pattern is confusing from the video , in pattern your stating foundation hdbl crocheting 79
Row 2 , hdbl crochet first stich ch1 sk stitch (repeat til end of row)
Here in video your using a sc st instead of hdbl crochet and your rows is way out of order and total different things on written pattern and video . What am I supposed to do? I'm currently on row 3 and reviewing video as I go and I'm getting a total different pattern . 🙄😒😒😒

i followed all the steps and halfway through i realised my bag was like a miniature version of this... im using 4mm acrylic yarn,, does anyone know if its because of my yarn tension or the yarn i used or any other factors?

Yea the same thing happened to me. What size hook are you using? The hook size makes a huge difference and I was skeptical as to why she said to use a 4mm hook with 4mm yarn in her video. Usually, almost all 4mm yearn packages recommend using a 5.5mm hook (not a 4mm one). Using a smaller hook than what the yarn package says will shrink your project A LOT, so I'm almost positive that's why yours looks smaller.

This happened to me. I’m also using acrylic yarn and the recommended hook size. I got all the way to the end of the pattern (prior to the strap) and it’s just not right. It’s way too short and it’s not drapey and loose like the photos show. i think the hook was just way too small. I was thinking of adding a bunch of extra rows to the top to get the height right but then it won’t look as nice so i guess I’ll start over with a larger hook. Totally bummed as I wanted to take this to the beach in 2 weeks and i don’t know that I’ll have enough free time between now and then to finish. 😩

So.. I lost count while working on row 29-65.. and i have no idea how to count the stitches 😭 HELP!

I’m not sure if you still need help. (The bottom rows is 2 rows, the V looking stitch starts at 3). You can count the rows by counting each side of the V looking stitch all the way up. So one side of the V would be one, then the other 2, and go up a stitch, 3 and 4. And so on. Hope this helps and makes sense!
