I love this bag! I've made 3 now with different yarn combinations, and one thing I've started doing is to pin the sections of the strap together, put my wallet or a water bottle or something in the bag, *then* put it over my shoulder to check the length before sewing. It really helps to stretch the bag to where it realistically is going to sit!
I literally made an account just to comment but, this is my FAVORITE crochet project I have ever done. It came out so nice, thank you for the tutorial!
I love love love this pattern! I made my first point with recycled sari silk and it turned out amazing! I'm on my second bag using cotton this time... thank you!
I'm making this for my mom for Christmas and it is Dec 22. The one she made ripped and I felt bad, I made it for yarn holding and I will add pockets and butterflys because she loves them. Thx 4 the pattern!
LOVE THIS BAG! My fav. I've made this bag as a crossbody, too (Crossbody: Do not join straps with stitch. Instead, make strap much longer on one side. Attach 2 lg wood rings to shorter strap; on side with longer strap, end strap with tassel, making sure longer strap can be threaded through wood rings, and folded back on itself so that it hangs down to nearly bottom of bag.) I've also added inside pockets, and either velcro or magnetic closures at bag opening. So easy and functional, too. Thanks for sharing this video tutorial with us! 🤩❤
Love it! This was my first crochet project. I really like how it turned out! I did mess up in some areas but I think that's what makes it special 😂 I'll definitely be making another one and watching along to the video again! You were excellent at walking me through!
WoW, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS BAG❣️❣️Thank you sooooo much for sharing this Awesome Pattern with us ❣️❣️❣️You have also given me the answer to my Christmas gifts for the gals on it‼️‼️❤️‼️‼️I will do my best to remember to send you a pic of them when I get them finished ‼️‼️Thank YOU again for sharing & YOU do a Wonderful job of teaching also❣️Love Ya’, barbie (S.E. this is my second ever crochet project, and it turned out great if i do say so myself! your instruction was much easier for me to follow than a lot of other tutorials haha, thank you for this!
I think I bought a bag from a second hand store that was made it’s this pattern! I’m so glad I found this tutorial because I wanted to recreate it in a different color. It’s been so helpful.
i love that you have videos for both hands! That is so awesome! Now I can recommend a whole channel to those i know who want me to teach them but use a different hand than me.
Beautiful bags and tutorial. Planning to start one! What fun! Well I wasted no time in getting going on this... I am making a "scrapy" version of this bag! I just love it! Have about 10" so far. Thanks again for your great instructions ❤
Yes Crystal again reads my mind. Just what I wanted to make and I had the perfect yarn for it waiting for the perfect project to use it. This is it! Posted on your FB and started the project in Ravalry too. Thank you Thank you Thank you !
Love it! I've been looking for a simple stylish shoulder bag and this is perfect. Ive never double string my crochet and this is awesome for this bag, especially since I have a bunch of yarn i just clerance bought that is a much lighter weight than what it says. Makes it perfect for this.
Great tutorial. Love the simplicity of the pattern. Was disappointed that I'll have to look elsewhere to find instruction on the tassel. It's really beautiful and adds a lot to the bag.
Glad it was helpful! Apologies on the tassle, i had a tester add one to her bag, it wasnt part of the pattern, but definitly will heep in mind for future creations :)
Hello crystal..can you tell me the color combination you used for the hobo bag in your thumbnail photo with the grey hassle and beige shawl..I love that color for fall..thank you so much..have a great day😀
This is adorable! I’m making it now. I do have a question for you. I noticed from your photos you have one with hardware. Do you like it? I’m considering doing the same as I have some Boho style cotton webbing I think would be great for the strap. Just wondering what your thoughts were. The only thing I can think would be a draw back is the weight.
Question please, If I have 4 medium weight yarn that says use 6mil hook, can I follow the same Pattern? I'm a beginner and excited try this Boho Bag. Thank you for sharing.
Love this pattern. Purchased the written pattern, but so thankful for the video, too, bc I’m very new to crochet. One of the bags shown at the beginning of the video has a pocket on the front. Will you please offer instructions for how to do that, too? Thanks!
Only just found you, sorry it took me so long. I'm 82 years old and love to crochet. This bag will be perfect for me as I have arthritis in my shoulders so need a bag that's light and the straps are wide, to spread the weight. Can you re=tell how much yarn it will take?
I liked you explanation, but how do you finish de 30 rounds of hdc so that the top is perfect. If you go round and round after the increases it makes a spiral. Thanks.
It has been my experience that you get a sturdier finished piece when you use 2 strands of worsted yarn. Plus it give your work some nice depth. I consider myself a beginner and this is one thing I have found in all my patterns I only used one strand when crocheting with yarn.
Hello! Do you know what colour type of yarn you used to make the crochet bag that is seen first in the video? The more autumnal one? I want to make that one!!
It's 11pm and I have just finished my bag, thank you for showing me how
When did you start doing it?
@@amiralouise1206 Hi sorry took so long to answer but it took me about 8 hours total I think I did over time because it hurt my hands a bit

Thank you for this tutorial, mine turned out great!!!
I love this pattern! You were great to follow with your pattern. Thank you. I have made 2 now.
do i have to double the yarn?
It depends on the yarn weight. I have used 5 weight yarn and less chains. Hope this helps!
I LOVE MY BAG. I HAVE MADE 2 AND M ON MY THIRD ONE I LIKE THE TUTORIAL THAT YOU DID THANK SO MUCH.
Made this for my eleven year old...loved it so much I'm making three more for Summer. Thank you. Super cute ❤️🙃😎

Thank you!!
Love it so much add it to my make list love how you take the time to explain
I am super excited to make this bag. Just need to finish picking my yarn and I’ll get it started!
I love variegated yarn and this pattern is perfect for it. I want to find a bright, rainbow-type yarn for a summer bag.
I just crocheted mine today and yesterday had a little trouble with figuring out the rows but I got it in the end
This bag is a great way to get rid of extra scrap yarn… ❤️ it….BRILLIANT
which yarn combo was used for the red and orange bag in the thumbnail? i love this pattern.

Thank you! You too!
Great tutorial ❤ I do not like buttons so I made a huge tassel and toss it over to the other side and that keeps it closed. Thank u for sharing
Finished my first bag and now starting on my second using different yarn :)
How many hours take each bag?
The bag is cute btw! :)

@@jolieknotscrochet3550 No worries. I'm almost finished the bag and I am enjoying making it. The tassel appears to just be draped over the front.
Love your bag hun, will definitely crochet it. Thank you

Love my new bag & now in to my next ❤️💯
I love your Purple Nail Polish so much, that I had trouble focusing on the Instructions! 😂😂😂
i absolutely love the tassel keychain in the thumbnail!!! could you possibly do any kind of tutorial
A tester made that for her bag.
Such a pretty bag, I'm trying it..
Hello crystal..can you tell me the color combination you used for the hobo bag in your thumbnail photo with the grey hassle and beige shawl..I love that color for fall..thank you so much..have a great day😀
You can check the ravelry page, as that was a testers photo. All the information on her project will be listed in her project page :)
I like your bag,and thank you very much,
This is great!! definitely doing this again.
I Love this pattern! I'm starting my 3rd one! Thank you for the great video. Do you have a video for the tassel?
I don’t, my tester put her own tassel on hers, apologize

So Glad! Thank you!
Will you or do you have a tutorial for the white and black color ( ice yarn)?
It’s the same pattern, so you don’t need an additional tutorial to show the same, you can use this one with any color 😀

Estimated amount of the for project: 7-9 hours in total
THANK YOU!
Question please, If I have 4 medium weight yarn that says use 6mil hook, can I follow the same Pattern? I'm a beginner and excited try this Boho Bag. Thank you for sharing.
Yes you can, but use a 5m hook, you want tight stitches
Can we do this project with one single yarn?? Also with all the different colors it’s hard to tell where you put your stitch markers
The Aura Borialis (boy did I spell that wrong) I couldn't find. How sad because I feel in love with that color! 😃
Excellent video!
Thanks for this beautiful tutorial!
Can this be made with 1 yarn strand?
I’m trying to find how much yarn you used, am I missing it mentioned somewhere?
Love this pattern. How do you crochet tight to make sure there are no holes. Does it matter on the type of wool or its how you Crochet?
Love this pattern. Purchased the written pattern, but so thankful for the video, too, bc I’m very new to crochet. One of the bags shown at the beginning of the video has a pocket on the front. Will you please offer instructions for how to do that, too? Thanks!
You are so welcome! That was a testers bag that made it, i didnt add that myself.
i’m using cotton yarn, should i still use 2 strands of yarn to crochet the bag? this is is cool design!!!
Yes, 2 strands still 😀
I plan on making this with LBs Pima cotton one strand. It’s Mercerized and will be durable. Acrylic stretches out when washed.
Do have a knitted version of this bag pls
I might make one those hand bags
Love this bag and definitely going to try to make this. Can I use double crochet for this bag?
The half double makes the tighter stitches so things don’t go through the spaces.
I didn’t understand ,what type of Yarn to use (size and material)?
This is so cute! Do you think I could use 3 strands of 3 weight yarn instead?
Most definitely!
Can I increase the bottom rounds with increases to make the bag wider? LOVE this bag so much!
Most definitley
Joli knots how can I get buttons with big holes
You’ll have to look at the holes in the stores when you shop.
Brilliant once again
thank you
Can you use a hdc decrease instead of skipping the first stitch on the straps?
yes, you can
Thank you so much

Depending on your size, about 400 yds

How many yard does this need
Made purse and turned out cute
Thank you!!
Thank you 😊
Thank you I made abag to Mach my cloche hat
Wonderful!
I really want to make this for myself. But is it too ambitious for an absolute beginner?
do we have to add a border ? mine looks good w out it
You don’t have to, but it will help keep the strap from stretching too much, it will stretch a bunch without it
Do you have to use two strands of yarn or can you use just one strand? Will it make a big difference?
it will definitley be smaller, you would need a longer starting chain and a smaller hook
All the info, if i have it is on the ravelry link in the description box, the photos are of my pattern testers projects
Hi! I have 3 light yarn. Do i need to put it in 2 to make this bag? And how can I chainge the colors?
The yarn did the color changing for me. I used bulkier yarn, so either consider 3 strands, or a smaller hook
Can you just slip stick the bands together ?
yes
Do I stop increasing when I've finished the base?
Yes you stop increasing after your base is complete.
lt so nice
do i have to double the yarn?
If you don’t want it to stretch out, or use a smaller hook
Would I have to line this bag?
No
Can I not increase the bag?
Of course, for a wider bag, begin with a longer starting chain, for a deeper bag, increase your rows.
Awesomeness
what yarns did you use on the left photo in your thumbnail? for the red and orange bag with the tassel
Follow the link in the description box to ravelry, you will find all yarn alternatives for photos in each project page
