I tried the MV88 against the Zoom iQ5 and Zoom iQ6 and both Zooms were way better than the Shure MV88, my tests were done making videos for my semi loud rock cover. band
Daniel Bernard my mic makes these static noises i was wandering what I can do to change that maybe I need to return it , i even have a windscreen for it it’s so annoying bc for the price you’d expect it to work but it’s not I wander if it’s broken or like do I need to exchange it it’s brand new plz lmk I’m not that good at technology stuff :) haha
That was So helpful! You saved me about 200 bucks brother! I play in our original band, a tribute band, and on our worship team, behind the dreaded shield. This will work out So well. Blessings brother.
Wondering what’s good for the new iPhone 15 with usb C. My thing is I have mics, API, Neve pres and all that. But u don’t drag those into my separate music rehearsal space in a city….not until I have a song worked out and it’s a 7hr recording day. However, I’ve grown to love the phone idea just to capture ideas. One big one I like to do with drums is record using the phone, edit 8 or 16s like. Then airdrop them into Abelton to get the midi groove data. All of a sudden I have a room sound, and the midi pretty spot on. With that I can program a pretty good track that I actually played, and sounds more natural with the groove. It’s a good place holder for quick work, and prep before going into recording mode. I’m just not one to waste my time dragging out the nice stuff, until I have a call sheet of specifics and finish stuff I’m going to record….but I still want to capture and use my content.
Wait ...what..?? are we listening to the recording of the iPhone that you are RECORDING in the Recording ...or The Video Cam from the Camera you are videoing the iPhone in operation...?? I am confused...???
Great demo! Just a quick question; Can I use this mic with the built in Apple camera app? If yes & i just plug it straight in will it automatically switch to using the Zoom mic or do i have to select it as the input source somewhere in settings? Cheers
What about Android users? Looking for something to record our church services directly to my phone from the balcony. Bass guitar, bass drum and floor tom sound terrible on recording but good live. Just droning sound with no punch. Any ideas?
What you think about that compared to the shure mv88 I'm a musician I wanted recording piano my studio I'm thinking a recorded withoutThe microphoneAnd running through ProToolsMakes it I need to look up to find out how to save ProToolsVideo For Internet
Sound with Zoom IQ7 clipped frequently ('red volume dot' and harsh peak in sound) but the iPhone builtin mic didn't clip and sounded not that bad really...
There was totally no bass, nothing! Looking on youtube for the best mic for iphone, but not even one can record any bass. IQ, shure etc. Can you recommend a good microphone for me?
Thanks SO MUCH for showing that this mic can be used with the Camera App. One question though is can this mic be adjusted to focus on YOU for recording instead of needing to be "Held" in a specific direction like I see the Rode IXY Mic? I record Ocarina and Piano and have been looking for MONTHS for a decent all-in-one option that I can just use on ANY phone and record with ANYWHERE. Thanks in advance.
ur snare cliped ur zoom mic all the time....i6s sounded much more fat and full, if the hihat were not clipping too i will definitely go for the main phone mic.
There are a couple things I realized after making the video, but mentioned in the video somewhat. This video is actually a best case scenario for the iPhone mic. The zoom mic really excels in a cage, although it may clip, it’s way less distorted than an iPhone mic in and situation where the drums are closed in at all: Also, in a concert or when there’s any other noise, the zoom mic does a much much better job of capturing directional sound, vs. the iPhone mic that just captures everything.
In this instance the iPhone mic performed well. Inside a drum cage or higher SPL setting though... it falls apart. Now the new ones like the iPhone X do better and better. But now i would recommend an iRig!
Has anyone used the Shure MV88? I've never used one but may have to get one to try it out!
Daniel Bernard Hi! Is there any other option for android user brother? Thanks and God bless
I tried the MV88 against the Zoom iQ5 and Zoom iQ6 and both Zooms were way better than the Shure MV88, my tests were done making videos for my semi loud rock cover. band
TOO EXPENSIVE. SEND ME ONE

@@timsierra9417 same question.
Dude...seriously, I love how you make your cam autofocus on the little mic by covering up your face/the rest of the image. #RealPro

Was not expecting it to sound that amazing 😳
exactly what i'll use it for... drum videos! cheers, mate
THATS AWESOME THAT MEANS I DON'T NEED DRUM MICS😨
Wow thanks for video this helps lot with me because I️ what to start to record more

Maybe they edit video after that.
kywildcatinva He’s recording a video on his phone and exporting the audio into his editing software. It’s not that complicated buddy.
He obviously edited that clip.
Great video man! I’m currently waiting for this mic in the mail. It sounds great to me!
Did you get it? any good for guitar amp recording for a video?
can u post your video results by using that? thanks

Thank you, exactly what I need!
Great video!…one question if your playing drums …how do you turn if on and off? ..is there a remote…thanks 🎼
what mode do you use? 90 degrees or 120 degrees?
It sounds amazing

did u find something good?
I think default mic from galaxy note 8/9/10 is good enough, at least for me ( i use galaxy note 9)
Do you have to record the audio separately and sync it onto your video or is it just a case of plug it in and.record normal video?

shure mv88 is a better mic but you need to get the Shure MV88 plus if you want a headphone jack for monitoring.
So helpful. Thanks.
Thanks!
What are you useing to hold the phone bro ?
I’d like to use this with FilmicPro app to record acoustic guitar. How far away from guitar sound hole can I be?
Hey Daniel if i use a usb converter and connect the iq7 to my android phone, will it work?
I would think so
Awesome video! What stand are you using for your iPhone?
Sound with Zoom IQ7 clipped frequently ('red volume dot' and harsh peak in sound) but the iPhone builtin mic didn't clip and sounded not that bad really...
Get your ears checked.
Hey bro Bernard! What stand did u use for your iPhone cam??
Can I use the audio effects and mastering of the ZOOM Handy Recorder App also for the Video tone, or is it just in voice recording mode available?
There was totally no bass, nothing! Looking on youtube for the best mic for iphone, but not even one can record any bass. IQ, shure etc.
Can you recommend a good microphone for me?
Just do some eq or put a cheap dynamic mic on the kick drum

Cymbals phasing?
is iphone 6s good for drum covers recording?
yes better than iphone 5
Is there a mic like this with a type C connector instead of a Lightning?
Zoom am7 is basically the same thing
God knows how many times this sounds better than the EAD10
What stand are you using for the iPhone
Sir do you have a drum cover with this device?
Hey homie, really loved this video but was wondering if there is a similar set up for a android phone?
Zoom Am7
Can use for android phone?
that has the lightning port so i guess you would have to find one that is compatible with the android port
can i use it with filmic pro ??
What level did you set your gain on for that recording with the Zoom mic? Is that your typical gain level? Thanks!
it says 0.
Is there an Android version of that?
Can u use it for Android
I think iq6 is better. Because it receives more low Hz sounds than iq7.
I used shure 88, but it was worse than iq6.
Hey! Is it suitable if we use iq7 to record singing with other instruments like guitar nd piano?
Works great.
Is it works with an ipad?
Yup!
Thx man

had one of these... no good for drums cymbals always too harsh and doesn't handle high spl
Always text messages at the best times, eh?! lol
I think your wife is looking for you lol!
Arwin June Vicente lol! Right
Without the mic it doesn't sound good
Daniel Dixon I argee
iPhone built in mic sounds better IMO
No the fuck it doesn't you idiot are you deaf?
Iphone mic is better!! :)
(my opinion)

I think your Wifey messaged ya.
lol
