For edrums you run an aux cable from the iRig to the module then plug your headphones into the module as well, and then you can hear yourself play, as well as hear any song your might be playing along with from your phone or table.
It’s 2024 and broooo!! You helped a lot with this video to this day. I literally bought, everything in your bio and yeah bro can’t wait to use it this Sunday!!🔥
Answering your question, you may use the Ipad output in the iRig2 as a monitor output. You are not alone I have the same problem with my iRig2 , the output with the “headphone” icon does not work. Thank you for your video and showing the cable with female and male splitter (very useful and flexible tool). Before I go I recommend reloop’s (mp3 & wav) recorder (uses micro-sd card). This device has a Thru output (which works very well) that I use to monitor my sets. Peace, Temo
I can say this works like a charm. I currently have an headphone amplifier that I run my aviom 16 to and so that helps me avoid having to use a splitter cable since there are 4 out puts I can choose from. So I use one of the four for my personal mix then I use another for the irig. Thanks for the videos!!!
No need for a fancy or complicated setup. You just need the Garageband, 2 pieces 3.5mm plug both male on ends and a speaker that has no delay. Sometimes using bluetooth speakers will cause a 200ms delay. Better if you use a powered or an amplified speaker. However, i’m just using the irig 1. But it should work the same.
Is there a way to split the click audio so the click track isn't playing through the music that is being recorded? I would like to try recording but I don't think viewers would want to hear the click.
I got a problem, my phone is a type c, when I use " 3.5 to type c converter ", the sound is totally bad. But my original old 3.5 phone is perfect How can I fix it? thanks
I do something similar, but I split the click track to my ears before the Aviom and turn the click volume off in my Aviom. That way I am not recording the click track.
@@jaysee2696sorry it took so long to respond. I finally had a moment to make a recording of my setup. See this link... ruclips.net/video/EWZi5dzvaJU/видео.html
Did you order yet? Plug 1 // 1/4 inch TRS STRAIGHT PLUG 2 // 3.5 mm PLUG 3 // You can either do 1/8 inch (3.5mm) or 1/4. But I would suggest 1/8 inch because you can use an adapter for 1/4 insertion, but you can’t change the 1/4 to 1/8 inch if needed.
I fail to see the need of an iRig for edrum recording. Why not just connect an $8 1/4 inch to iPhone lightning cable? or for Android, 1/4 inch to USB C cable? 1/4 inch plugs into L mono out of your module and the other end into your iPhone or Android phone?
I got a question couldn’t you just use a 8th inch splitter and run it into your phone ? Astaid of getting the irig ? And use one for your phone and one for your in ear monitors ?
Daniel, do you run stereo IEM's? Are you using a stereo to mono summing cable to go into the iRig? I'm working on my setup right now and since the iRig is only a TS input, you only get the left channel from your iem mix. (and I do heavy panning in my ears...)
If you have an audio interface then you probably don't need the iRig! Depending on how you're running your audio, you could run out of one of the outputs on your keyboard (like headphone out if you're using the L and R outs) into your audio interface to record audio. You could also run off of your DI into an interface.
Does anyone know how to live monitor what Im doing through the headphone out put? I only can listen to playback, how can I live monitor what I'm doing at the same time? Please help thank you.
I think you may be able to live monitor if you use the irig mobile app with it? I’m not sure, I like to run a separate line to it otherwise I’m trusting in too many moving parts for my in ear mix lol.
So do you have to buy a splitter like that or can you just do "eighth inch out of aviom into irig into iphone and just plug in ears directly into the irig"?
Daniel, I want to record audio from my IEM mixer (Mackie VLZ4) to my iPad. Not looking for 4K just drumming videos with better sound. short clips. To share with drum buddies. Why do I need an iRig? Is it just to be able to adjust gain? The preferred way is from mixer (RCA outs) to 3.5mm adapter to charger input. That's fine. If I'm using the RCA record outputs from board. That's already line level so what's the iRig for? Perhaps it helps SYNC the A/V. Thanks in advance
I mean there are many reasons but 1 is the quality built in audio conversion. That sells for me. It’s designed to take the audio and live stream it at higher quality.
Hi daniel would this work on a facebook live setting? I was thinking if I have an output signal from the mixer's main out (mono) to the irig then to the phone would the sound that i broadcast through fb live be the sound coming out from the main mix? Im sorry cant explain it well enough. Godbless!
Do you have to have an interface or use garage band or anything like that to record with the irig 2 and Marino vlog cable? Or will the iOS camera app pick up the audio from the Aviom while recording video with this set up?
I have the irig 2 and can’t get something right, I can get it to record no problem but I can’t figure out that issue you are having monitoring it, I have tried but failed so I gave up on it and just play
I plugged my audio output from my iPad with RUclips into my electric drum set, my drum set has a audio input on it and then I ran the output into I rigs instrument input, that is the only way I’ve been able to make it work my problem is monitoring what I am recording, when I plug into the headphone part on my irig I don’t hear any thing
Nathaniel Asamoah yes! I talked with a sound guy from guitar center, he said you can but maybe can damage the irig since the amplifier can be to powerful
I’m getting an issue where my irig2 audio is coming out very thin and papery. I’ve tried so many things. Any idea what causes this?? My 8 mics go to my interface, which is routed to my main LR out to a headphone splitter(I did this instead of ordering the cable you had made). My in ear mix sounds thick but the phone audio is super weak
You can, although you don't have as much ability to mix after the fact vs. using an interface with multiple channels. But obviously in a live event setting that may not be possible
I have a roland TD-1DMK - it only has auxiliary out (headphones) and mix in (aux in) ports. There are no L/R mono outputs Can I still use iRig2 to record playing along to my own music (from ipad) to my iphone by using a 1/4 cable from the irig input to aux cable on the module?
I’ve tried just about everything now and I can’t get this to work for nothing. I have the iRig HD2 but it’s connected the same way you have the iRig2. I have my headphones plugged directly into my TD11 drum module and I can hear the music and drums just fine. I have the lightening adapter plugged into my iPhone 8 Plus. I used the iPhone camera app to record video of me playing and it’s not bringing in the sounds from the module. Sounds like it’s not even turned on. Then I downloaded the iRig Recorder app and again no luck. Do I need to turn off something to bypass the camera’s mic or something? I thought when I plugged in the lightening adapter it would bring in the audio from the module but it’s not. Any idea what’s going on?
Update*** I actually tried 2 different iRig2’s to make sure I didn’t just get a faulty one, and they still didn’t work. So I bought the iRig Stream, and it worked perfectly for what I needed. Its more money but definitely worth it
God bless brother. Great help video! Love your list of goodies you left for us lol. Quick question, was wondering if I can use this same set up on my GoPro5 camera?
Lol, plugging what in? I’m plugging a lot of things in during this video. It’s a super simple process.... 1.come out of the aviom with a splitter (vlog cable) 2. plug your headphones into the headphone jack of the cable 3. plug the 1/4 male part of the cable into the iRig. 4. Plug iRig into phone.

I don’t think so but you can always use a different IEM pack
Hey Daniel, thanks so much for the tutorial, It is very helpful and clarifies a way to record a live sound.
Just did this with an iRig 1. Works great.
Bla Bla try finding different drum sounds in your model. They all sound different in different environments.

Do I need to download any apps to my phone to record off my in ears to my phone?
Its funny cause ive been recording video with this exact same setup for a while except i use a first gen irig going into a galaxy s9+. works great
I got a question couldn’t you just use a 8th inch splitter and run it into your phone ? Astaid of getting the irig ? And use one for your phone and one for your in ear monitors ?
The difference is that the IRIG is designed to provide quality stream.
Where can I find a cable similar?.i looked on guitar center and Amazon and couldnt find one similar.
how do you use it with a p-16?
Same.

Can you get the same audio quality if connected to a personal in ear monitor box?
Can u make a video of your gain on your irig and your settings on the aviom that made the sound so clear.
How can you do this with a Keyboard if you just have an audio interface and not no ear monitor system?
If you have an audio interface then you probably don't need the iRig! Can you use a sound interface (like a scarlet or presounus) instead of an irig?
Yooo wassup 😂😂
So do you have to buy a splitter like that or can you just do "eighth inch out of aviom into irig into iphone and just plug in ears directly into the irig"?
Does the big plug of the Marino customs cable go into any in ear box?
Is it possible to do a stereo recording with this set up or with the Marino custom vlog cable? Thanks.
