The purpose of listening to pink noise is to block out all the external noise that our world produces. To some it may be noise, but when you have 3 kids running around the house all day screaming and crying without stop, a TV in the background playing kids cartoons on repeat, this is no longer noise, but a waterfall of bliss to my ears and extremely soothing to my brain. Wow I can actually think now, and get some work done. Thanks.

Not diagnosed with any form of adhd, but I've had some real issues for few years now (most likely self caused by consuming too much social media etc... life nowadays).

I guess the clock is the nicest comfort in my room. I can’t sleep without it ticking, or at least it makes it a lot harder to sleep. The only issue is that it doesn’t mask other noises e.g. the boiler clock (even though it’s really, really quiet) ticking, and other stranger noises from outside. Now that it’s summer I’ve got an excuse to set up the table fan, which is great as that masks every noise except for the clock, so the combination of the two really works quite well for me

@Sophie Griffin Back again! 😂 After looking up weighted blankets, I’ve found it hard to work out what to get for my weight. The issue is my weight goes up and down quite often so between 9-11 stone (126 - 154 pounds) so what blanket would you recommend for me? I’d appreciate the advice! I’ve found a lot of them are quite expensive as well, I guess if I look at it as an investment given I will have it for a long time then I can see why it’s worth it. I find my issue is getting to sleep…I should be able to go after 10pm easy, I have busy days with a toddler. But once the even hits, my anxiety does get worse and I stay up to get ‘My time’ but I know I need more than 3 hours sleep to function. I need to cut out sugar fizzy drinks too! A weighted blanket would help with feeling more relaxed though!

I've been using this video for about two months when putting my infant down for naps and bedtime. It's become part of our routine. I've tried rain sounds, lullabies, and even a video of a lady shushing. Lol. Nothing has worked as good as this video. I've tested my theory many times. Just now I text this as my little one is sleeping in my arms. She was so fussy while I tried to watch a regular vid at low volume but, as soon as I put this vid on she calmed down and quickly fell to sleep as I rocked her. Parents struggling with putting your baby to sleep, this video is for you!!

Pink noise matches our hearing because we are most sensitive to mid freq. in the range 1,5k-3k-5k because that is the place where human voice is placed. Thats what you hear when you talk on the telephone. The reason why we hear it like that is because evolution made us to hear whenever needed. Someone screams in the jungle looking for help, you will hear it. Music bangs in the club full volume..you will hear the human voices talking in background no matter how strong music is. Pink noise matches that hearing and often, sounds natural to us.

Pink noise can potentially damage hearing if played at very high volumes for extended periods of time. Like any loud noise, prolonged exposure to pink noise, even at lower volumes, can lead to hearing loss over time. The continuous, high-frequency rumble of pink noise can be fatiguing on the ears

I've recently decided to quit weed, I'm 30 started when I was 15 and have always loved loud music and video games (most notably Skyrim with immersive music) I haven't even quit properly yet but I've stopped smoking in the day entirely for the past week and cut down massively. Somewhere along the line I thought my ears needed popping so I tried for days with no luck until I googled weed and ringing ears and found out it was Tinnitus. Then when I think about it I did hear ringing when I was always stoned but it was more like waves or a heartbeat than ringing and didn't bother me really. Anyway It's only mild ringing and a few crackles and pops so I'm hoping it goes away soon at least when I cut the weed completely but for now this is very soothing after a long sober day and maybe the last couple of joints I ever smoke. Took me far too long to quit but even with this unforeseen circumstance I already feel better for doing it. Hope it helps somebody out there. Peace

Thanks again, I'm single which is one of the reason's I quit but I have a 12 year old son who's been keeping me busy and happy (thank god!) while he's on summer holidays. He's been jogging with me and I live near Blackpool England (Fleetwood to be precise) and so I'm blessed with a promenade sea front walk and lots to do, Blackpool has a big theme park which we went to the other day and we're keeping busy, I could do with a change of scenery but I'm also rediscovering the one I already had which is nice. I'm getting towards two weeks now which is when your supposed to start feeling better so I'm staying positive and not being tempted. I will google the healing crisis as well so thanks again.

I can truly feel the emotion portrayed in this album, the artist has such a unique way of showing it :) 10/10 (I also love the lyrics! My favorite part has to be at the five hour mark, so inspiring)

I will say that this is better than John Cage's "4 minutes 33 seconds of silence".

I've found it actually boosts creative concentration. When I write I have certain types of music for certain types of scenes / characters. I layer the pink noise under the music. I can't hear it, but I know it's there. Or perhaps it's better to say I know when it's not there. The quality difference is obvious.

I need this at the moment, as I have had a rough time with outside noise. That big old tv noise was horrid 😊. I still remember the Tv broke and couldn't push the button in and was left with this. And Primary school. Best channel eve. From phobia to cool is cool 😎.
