  • Ken Ham and his team have a bi-weekly "news" show, reacting to the news stories of the day from a Christian young-earth creation perspective from the Answers in Genesis staff at his Creation Museum.
Jim Helton (National Field Organizer for American Atheists Inc) and I join Ken Ham, Georgia Purdom and Bodie Hodge as they discuss unconstitutionally promoting trips to the Ark Encounter, octopus DNA from space and more in this episode of Answers News hosted in front of a live audience at the Creation Museum.

I got so excited when they brought up the octopus thing, because I remember the SGU podcast just completely lambasting it.
Octopuses are cool enough as is without having to invent origin stories for them.

For those who think it is futile to debate or talk to religious people, it IS NOT! I was once a fundamental Christian but I watched the videos of "great" religious and creationist debaters and I saw flaws and fallacies in their arguments and logic and reason in the opposing side. So please post and like these videos to de-convert other young people who are being intellectually harmed by this revolting dogma!
Edit: Thanks for the heart Paulogia! Keep up the awesome work man!

i hurt my shoulder, and i was wearing a sling at work today to keep it immobile (its really painful) and a customer put his hand on my shoulder and prayed out loud for god to heal me. no joking, no sarcasm, actually prayed out loud for god to fix it. when he was done he said "go ahead and check it, youll find its been healed". that was this morning. my shit feels exactly the same. FUCK. i didnt believe enough, or something. and he did ask me if he could pray for me, and i said sure, but i did not expect him to lay hands on me and do it right there! it took every ounce of strength in me to not bust out laughing though, so thanks for that at least!

I was saying in one of Aron's videos Ken Ham is the most dangerous creationist I know of, because we pass off an air of legitimacy Kent Hovind don't and an appearance of intelligence Ray Comfort lacks.

@@TheKyrix82 It will not matter to a lot of Christians if he appears intelligent or not, you could literally prove that he was a con-man and even that would not necessarily be the end of him there is a large enough portion of Christians out there who are only interested in hearing that they are going to be saved or that the preacher can get God to help them if they are in a shitty situation, if Ken can do that he will always have an audience and supporters.

Methodologically though, Ham is as much a bottom feeder secondary source channeler as Kent Hovind is. Neither are core "fact" claimants in creationism, and Ham isn't even up on a lot of his own side's caveats (such as Ham repeating claim that the horse evolution sequence is bogus, a decade after the baraminologists decided ALL of them actually are related, called a "monobaramin" in their jargon).

In the octopus theory defense, this particular paper may be silly, but the DNA molecule folds very nicely into the face of the borax crystal. This matrix preserves the DNA perfectly under an enormous range of conditions, and it is very possible that, if DNA folded into a borax crystal was able to get into space, perhaps from a meteor impact onto a borax salt flat, it would be easy for it travel through space and survive reentry. See book Life As We Do Not Know It, by a NASA biologist.

I'd be cool with a field trip in which the school took kids to various religious organizations to teach them about religion. Less of a "this religion preaches true history" and more of a "these religions are a part of human history." I went to a Christian school and one of the best things they ever did for me was have a field trip that took us to a Mosque, two different synagogues from two different sects of Judaism, and several denominations of Christian churches. I only wish we could have also gone to see non-Abrahamic religions as well. The study of religion is cool with me as long as they're not being passed as fact.

Where you pay at the parking lot and then are driven to the Ark. Never knew if it was due to the Walt Disney World thing to separate the parking lot from the MK, if it was because of the land available or to Structure, word used purposely, and skirt around laws. Love to hear more about this.

Hey Paul, just want to say thanks for all the videos. I was brought up in a small town in northern ontario as a strict Baptist that was taught AiG as science. I have since become an atheist and have been trying to learn as much as possible about science, evolution, and the failures of the church. Now, my parents and family are still very extremist in their religious beliefs. And now my wife and I expecting our first child in March.
As someone who has been through what I have and is already a father, I would love if you could share your thoughts about raising your kids teaching them science, while your family and parents try to undermine that teaching? My wife and I are on the same page regarding all this but it worries me what my parents and family will say/teach my child and what will happen if we leave our kids at their house for the weekend. I've already had this conversation with my parents, but they said they "can't lie to their grandchild and they wont keep their opinions to themselves b/c their souls are forever."
    Thanks Paul!

The USA is crony capitalist capital of the world with a crony capitalist game show president Trump, who despite his family's money sending him to the finest economic school he still went so bankrupt the banks were forced to bail him out otherwise his debt would of sent them all down.
Despite the American president and American citizens describing the rest of the world as a "shithole", I'm glad I don't live in the USA. However I'm not so ignorant and self righteous to assume my country doesn't have serious problems, and for the time being there are nicer places to live. However each to their own.
American culture is too dumb to realise you can't fight your way out of every situation, it just makes it worse...
The USA just makes the same rookie mistake again, and again, and again.
If unfortunately America was wiped out in a violent asteroid shower, the world wouldn't miss America as much as Americans think the world would. America is a very young country, and still has a lot to learn.
During Trump's electoral camp I predicted that the only thing "great" Trump would make America, is greater ignorance and corruption. America 2019 is proving my point! It's like a deer in headlights!
IMHO the world will see the wall as more uncalled for American mindless hostility and another target and sign of American weakness. Americans think they are untouchable, but it's not true!
Americans speak of freedom, but they are too cowardly to die for justice!
