Today I went to the oncologist, was told the tumor on my liver stopped growing and was not cancerous! I was driving home after and turned on the radio, and this song came on...first time i had heard it. Mind you, my heart has been heavy, and i have been scared. I lost my dad in 2015 to cancer, that started at his liver then moved to his pancreas. I drove him to all his treatments and fought by his side til the end, I told him i loved him before he passed, and he said he loved me, and was gone from this world soon after. I was supposed to hear this song today, it was a message from my dad. He was telling me at that moment, to make the most of the time i have and go live life...he will always be alive in my memories...still crying as i write this, this song really hit me like a truck...and being a parent, the Mettalica onesy broke my heart...

My children lost their dad to brain cancer the day after Christmas ten years ago. They were still small children at the time. I know it's cliche to say, but time really does heal most wounds to the soul. I'm so sorry for your loss, and I know the wounds are still fresh, but know that this dark time will pass. Don't be afraid to let your walls down and feel what you need to feel right now. Grief is a difficult journey, but you're not alone. We each have our own story to tell, but at the end of the day we still have each other in one way or another. My own ugly crying in this video might be a bit embarrassing for me, but I know that allowing others to see that vulnerable side of myself may let others know it's okay to let people see their own pain & realize they're not alone. I don't know how much (or even if) my words help, but I want you to know that there's other humans out here who know how hard it is to lose someone dear, and that as dark as it seems right now, you will make it through this.

I wish you the very best that life has to offer. We are all born into this cruel world, and even though only a tiny handful are dealt the best cards, that doesn't mean the rest of us should suffer for the rest of our lives. We should help one another, this world is already full of so much pain and misery. There is no need to add to it.

My younger sister was murdered in 2000 by her ex and if it were not for my faith in God, friends, & family, and meeting others who lost loved ones, it would have been much more difficult to heal from the shock, guilt, pain, and darkness. If you haven't went through their entire playlist discography yet I highly recommend it. But most the time when I tell anyone that they only half listen, find a quiet or secluded time and actually go through each song and listen closely, they've GOT to be up there with the best bands EVER to exist, flat out. Maybe not as marketed and played on the radio as much over and over again until you're FORCED to love it, but with them you can make your own decisions.

Absolutely 💯 and the fact that he not only pulled off one of the BEST EVER Covers - The Sound of Silence, and have the origional artist not only yell you how much he not only enjoyed it, but enjoyed it more than their origional version and had posted "Disturbed's" version on social media. Now that speaks volumes to their ability to be able not only to sing or cover anything. But get the origional artists gratitude for doing it justice and more. That is what talent is. My mother is very much into classical music, my dad is more into Johnny Cash, Roy Oberon and such. But I grew up knowing they always had played the origional Sound of Silence. So the other day, I said im gojng to play you 2 versions of this by a Mainly Metal band (as my mom liked some of Nirvana) I first played them the Conan live version, then the video and it brought them both to tears and commented it was not only very well done, but extremely powerful the way they did the video. And with all the of other severe beatings/killings at the hands of others, many ultimately Domestic Violence killings during these Lockdowns and all the self inflicted deaths during all of 2020 - We SHOULD mix this song "MAYBE IT'S TIME" in as well. IT'S by Sixx:A.M. and many other artists- Sixx: A.M. are back, recruiting Slipknot's Corey Taylor, Def Leppard's Joe Elliott, country star Brantley Gilbert, Five Finger Death Punch's Ivan Moody, Slash, AWOLNATION and Bad Wolves' Tommy Vext for a new video for the track "Maybe It's Time." What is bringing these musicians together is the goal of the song, to shine a light on the opioid crisis and help an industry-wide initiative to raise funds to serve the recovery community and save lives. See the video and hear the song below.
Utilizing the moniker Sixx: A.M. Presents Artists for Recovery, the collective times the release of the song and video to build up to National Recovery Month in September. It should also be noted that International Overdose Awareness Day comes on Aug. 31, while International Recovery Day is Sept. 30.
We SERIOUSLY NEED TO END 2020 -or- START 2021 ON A HIGH NOTE❣

I just lost my wife of 26 years on 6-2-21 and I miss my bed friend. I’m a guy that has lost a lot in life but this loss is killing me and I no clue on what to do. I have wanted to do things just be with her ( suicide) drink till I can’t feel anymore and in reality I don’t know what to do. I’m lost depressed I don’t want to live anymore. And I listen to this song and I do get to think of my times with her and kind of helps me get through the night. But when I wake up the depression kick back in and I get lost again And I listen to this song and I remember the good times. Disturbed members thank you for this message. This scene hits me everytime.. a few years ago my wife and I were expecting our first child. For about 7 weeks we were the happiest people you could imagine, but then it began. My wife had abdominal pain, we went to her gynecologist but she said she couldn't see anything abnormal on the ultrasound. A day later the pain became worse and we decided to go to another gynecologist. He sent us straight to the hospital (where I work at, as a nurse). They did a few tests and found that she had an ectopic pregnancy. They arranged an emergency surgery, in which they removed the left fallopian tube.
Not only I lost my first child on this day, I also nearly lost my wife since the fallopian tube had started to rupture. An hour later she would have been bled to death.
Now we are parents of the cutest little boy ever.
But nonetheless I always get emotional when I see this video and especially this scene.
This whole experience led me straight into depression and I had to fight a lot to get out of this bottomless pit.
Thanks to anyone who took the time to read my story.

I lost my fiancé and our baby. When I finally got the strength to date again I got married and we started trying to have kids. She had a miscarriage. It tore me up and I tried to hide it. We got pregnant and had our son. When we finally got pregnant again after two years of trying my wife had another miscarriage and we ended up divorced. I attempted suicide multiple times over my grief and now with her keeping my son from me against court orders it’s so hard to keep going. I turn 27 in a couple hours and haven’t been able to see my son in 4 months.

I went through a divorce this past spring. Married 30 years. My heart was ripped out but what I was thankful for is my 5 children. All grown, great humans and thriving. That being said it was 100% Disturbed that moved me past those dark dark days and nights. I listened to "The Light" before I heard this. I didn't think I could cry more than I did when I heard The Light. I was wrong. I heard this and every memory I had about my children came running back like a tidal wave. OMG it was surreal and still is. I called every one of them and told them everything they mean to me, that I was forever grateful for them and I told them how much I need them. They knew I was a mess and they all have known what Disturbed means to me. Without knowing, they knew I had been listening to Disturbed but didn't know exactly which song or songs. So my oldest coordinated a group video call and had me play for them what had moved me so much. I played "Hold Onto Memories" and there was 6 grown men and women sobbing like a hurt toddler. Something I will never, ever forget. It was unreal but each and every one of them got it. They got it. My youngest (twin daughters) Immediately searched and bought tickets for all of us to the next available Disturbed concert closest to us. When the time came the concert was canceled (stupid covid) but they put together a listening party for me to celebrate me. They wanted to show me what I meant to them. It was the best party of my life. If that is not a perfect example of the power of music I don't know what is. Thank you all for your testimony and thoughts because you other fans mean the world to me as well.

From time to time there comes a song that speaks to a multitude, across the genres, and resonates to all the way a song should. Whether it's an anthem for a sporting event, a good time party song, or a let all your sadness flow out from the tears you will shed when you hear it song, you know it when you hear it. Hold On To Memories is that song. I shared this on Facebook and my 75 year old mother raved about how much she needed to hear this, especially when she is about to lose a sister. When an artist truly shares their hearts generations are touched and changed, and are better for it. 🤘

About to spend my first Christmas without my father. Despite the b.s. my sister has put myself and my older brother through since he passed in July of this year, this song brings it home. Back to center if you will. What is really important is the love I still feel from him. Reading the notes I saved from him as I put our Christmas village and train set (that he gave me) under the tree for the first time in years, reminded me of the bond we shared. And in honor of him, one of his trains circles the track this year. My father will never be gone as long as I keep him in my heart. And every year I'll read the notes that were diligently saved from the "Chief Engineer" in everything he sent me for the village. And he will live on.

    Listen, everyone
The time will come when all of us say goodbye
Feel that aching in your heart
    Leaving you broken inside
    But we're never really gone
As long as there's a memory in you mind
So now go do the best things in life
Take a bite of this world while you can
Make the most of the rest of your life
Make a ride of this world while you can
    Take the ones you love
And hold them close because there is little time
And don't let it break your heart
I know it feels hopeless sometimes
    But they're never really gone
As long as there's a memory in you mind
So now go do the best things in life
Take a bite of this world while you can
Make the most of the rest of your life
Make a ride of this world while you can
    And hold on to memories
    Hold on to every moment
    To keep them alive
    The world's greatest tragedy
    Souls who are not remembered
    Cannot survive
So now go do the best things in life
Bring the fight to this world while you can
Make the most of the rest of your life
Shine your light on this world while you can
    And hold on to memories
    Hold on to every moment
    To keep them alive
    The world's greatest tragedy
    Souls who are not remembered

    LETRA:
    Ouçam, pessoal
Chega uma hora em que todos temos que dizer adeus
Você sente aquela dor no coração
É a maior tragédia do mundo
É a maior tragédia do mundo
    Almas que não são lembradas

I lost my 47 year old son almost a year ago. It was from a freak accident. He fell down the 7 or 8 steps leading to his apartment building. He laid at the bottom of the stairs for over 3 hours before anyone found him. He died of a traumatic brain injury from the fall. At his memorial I heard so many "Shawn" stories about how great of a guy he was. I cry every time I hear this song cause this song is what got me through the grieving. I was stuck for a while and this song helped me

This is a heartfelt song of great beauty. Among the many musicians who've passed on (especially Chester Bennington and Chris Cornell), near the end I thought I spotted Layne Staley of Alice in Chains. I'm not sure, mind you, and I've watched the video at least a dozen times, but it sure looks like him and it's possible the members of Disturbed met Staley along the way before his addictions became so great he immured himself in his own home (before dying way too young at age 34). Those three guys -- Bennington, Cornell, and Staley -- were influential and are all greatly missed.
As for me, I miss my husband Michael terribly. This song allows for catharsis, then peace. Thank you, Disturbed, for coming up with it.

So every day i listen to this song, sometimes several times and i remember things from our 38 years together. Makes this song very special to me and keeps my heart from breaking beccause i know i will never completely loose him as long as hes.in my heart. Bless you Disturbed. Bless all of you. I want to thank all the commenters that had the courage to share their pain. Also, thank you to disturbed for bringing this powerful song to all of us. David Draiman's voice is so beautiful.
This song reminds me of a profound saying: "A person dies twice, once when they draw their last breath and once when their name is last spoken. Don't be afraid to talk about your loss whether it is a person or a pet; they are all important.
Lastly, this song should be the anthem for all people. Find a cause you can get behind. Use your voice to remind everyone about those that have died senselessly at the hands of a mass murderer, climate change, or corrupt government.

He has a phenomenal voice and puts so much of his heart into what he’s sings. I am a 63 year old grandma of 10 and love this band. This song is so appropriate this year as it started on January 1st with a friend coming home from work to find her healthy 60 year old husband had died of a heart attack taking a shower. My last two dogs passed away with 2 1/2 months of each other. My daughter’s best friend since she was 2 died in a car accident with her 3 year old son. She was 40 and I had to keep it together to sing for her funeral, my gift to them when I got asked by the family. She had survived cancer 3 times. Then another friend’s cat died, my brother’s cat did yesterday and his other one 2 years ago so he’s all alone. Now another friend is with her dog loving on him and saying goodbye as he is dying. Another friend lost her grandpa this year and another lost her cat. 2019 will go down as one we can’t forget but wish we could. So this song reminds us all to hold onto the good, to live the best life you can and you know what, don’t take anyone or anything for granted. Disturbed, you totally rock in more ways than one. You touch us where it’s real.

I miss my son. He was 3 the last time I saw him and got to hold him in my arms. My ex wife left with him while I was at work. He's now 18. I don't have a clue where he's at. It's been hard. Alot of sleepless nights and crying. All I'll ever have is memories of him. I hope and pray that I get to see him before it's to late and I'm buried 6 feet under.

That is painful as hell. Maybe you can hire a PI to help yall reunite. Hopefully y'all find each other.
You can also hiring a lawyer to do a DNA search. If he's ever been arrested ( hopefully not), joined the military, or got a job with law enforcement his DNA is collected.
