I smile when I read these comments from older people saying how much they love this band and their songs. Music spans every generation; it’s what touches our heart and our senses. I too have recently discovered Disturbed
Mmmmm🤔considering we older people were brought up listening, head banging, most likely stoned, in the era of real hard rock. We appreciate the rear breed of musicians of today who can actually sing and play real instruments, without all the fake computer bullshit that most of the younger generations are force feed.

I’m Sounds of Silence Old too. I did see Simon and Garfunkel sing this back when they were new. I love their rendition and truly love Disturbed version. Both magical to me.
I am not much of a metal fan… but I LOVE this… and their version of the sound of silence is my favorite song/performance of all time. I love his voice, I love his passion.
The last time my grandfather came over to my house before he died, which was about a month before, he played me this exact video when he discovered it on RUclips. Music was one of our favorite bonds with each other … He loved their cover of the sound of silence. I was fortunate enough to see him again before he died, but the night he played this for me was the last time my mom had seen him and watching this video strikes an incredibly emotional cord. So thank you for your beautiful song and performance, it’ll forever be a part of my life.

Thank you David Dan Mike and John for ur contribution to many and the strength to listen to this song and power through the pain.
Lost my grandmother in October, 2016. I remember showing her Disturbed's performance of the Sound of Silence on Conan O'Brian one day. She had her own laptop and browsed Facebook a fair bit, even though she was in her late 70's. Later, I heard her watching it again and she said "Yeah, I watch it every time I see it pop up again, he's got a great voice". I remember in my head laughing my ass off, because here's this stuffy English woman watching Disturbed. I wasn't even that familiar with them, but I knew they were mostly heavy metal and the heaviest thing I've heard her play was the Beatles. I think she would've enjoyed this album, because there are quite a few acoustic ballads. Haters can say what they want about it being 'too soft', but I disagree. This is very sweet and refreshing.

Yep, i am 67 as of Oct. 20th, 2023. Been a Disturbed fan since day one and even before 9/11 i found that the lyrics in alot of their songs had something positive even though the songs may be forbodding or even intimadating. But yeah, even though i hate wine the anology is fitting. But you can get that from whiskey too🤣 David is a very compassionate and introspectfully astute lyricist. What i like most that in the early days on their tours, you knew very well that David could beat your ass with words or his fists. And now that they are older, mellower and very socially sensitive, and his kindness is often displayed at shows,...you kinda know this compassionate man can still bust you up if you're a dick at one of his shows🤣
This made me cry. Absolutely beautiful. I am a 50 year old disabled Navy vet, who was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer on Fathers day 2018. The lyrics really hit home for me.

I'm 70 and never liked metal. Then I heard Disturbed's Sound of Silence a couple of months and was hooked. David has such an amazing voice and the musicians are spectacular.
Calling "Hold On To Memories" a song is an understatement, it's an educational masterpiece which teaches a life lesson that will never be learnt in school. It hits very differently to most music out there today.
Never heard of Disturbed until a few days ago when I heard Sound of Silence. I am a huge fan now. Going out to get some cd's. Would love for them to re-do some oldies on one album in ther own version......
Drenda Parfitt Hi Drenda. If not for my children (who are adults now) I would never have heard about Disturbed. All 3 of them have pretty much the same taste in music, but it was my youngest daughter who introduced me to so many awesome bands back when I was in my mid 40’s. I’m 63 now, and still love all of the music she had shown me. I was blown away by Sound of Silence, as it’s a real masterpiece from them. And a far cry from what they normally produce; same as this one above!! Just beautiful :)
I love this! My father passed last month of Covid-19 ... “ memory”tears are streaming down my face right now. I am in the medical field and the provider I work for lost their brother two weeks after my dad. I shared this song with her, told her to grab tissue before listening lol! She absolutely loved it! Disturbed is now one of my favorites! I original discovered them when I heard their rendition of Sound of Silence... it is wonderful!!!
Sorry for your loss. Disturbed came into my life when I heard their rendition of Sound of Silence as well. The lyrics are amazing and sometimes are the only thing that keeps me alive, such powerful songs and performances...About these memories, there's one message I would like to share: "The saddest part of life is when the person who gave you the best memories becomes the memory" Anyway, if I wrote anything wrong, sorry, I'm Brazilian and sometimes my english is not that well hahahaha. Hope u have an amazing life and remember: there's always a reason to fight.

Man David has such a great way with words. I've always loved disturbed. I don't care if they write a whole album of ballads one day... I know it will be just as good as everything else they've given us over the years
This man just flattens me with his ballads. Goes to show excellent music crosses all lines. My 42 year old son exposed me to David's music and I am a 68 year old grandmother, retired nurse and a veteran. Keep on Disturbed!
This song is not jujst emotionally touching, but his voice hits you hard in this. His voice makes this song what it is and you can tell how it hit him.

Lost my lovely mother-in-law 3 months ago to Covid-19, and now my mom yesterday. She had been in the hospital for a shattered hip since last June. One infection after another kept her in bed and unable to get up to rehabilitate the hip. Eventually, after 11 months in bed, her body had become to weak to fight any more infections. She had been doing good, and was in good spirits last week but then, 2 days ago developed another infection from being bed ridden. It took less than 24 hours for her to decline and subsequently pass away. She’s with Dad now and I’ll be holding on to the memories. Thank you to the guys in Disturbed for this incredible tribute to everyone we’ve loved and have left us.

Often, performances with raw, uncorrected vocals are disliked because people are used to the clean, pitch corrected album versions. In reality, all singers get pitchy and lose key slightly, especially a singer like David, who has a lot of vibrato in his voice. Those who don’t understand this are very critical of uncorrected performances.
I dedicate this song to my mother who left this world two years ago.. Mom this song is for you, I know you are saying this to me.. I love You and I Miss You... Til we meet again :'( ..... Such a Beautiful song
I'm sorry Donna... I feel the same way about my mom. We WILL meet.. I only say that because she passed 3 days after I was born...so, never got to...but WE WILL BOTH be reunited with our mothers
I'd like to dedicate this song to my dad. Passed away in 1986 I was 2. Due to leukemia, his influences in rock n roll are the reason for my passion for music.
Every year on December I remember loosing my bestie and 34 others from my company at Kim Son 12/17/66 it’s always been part of me as they were part of me. I keep them alive by living a good life they were cheated out of and I’ll never never forget them. This song has added new meaning to their loss. I make the most of the rest of my life.
I can’t get this song out of my head. It’s so nice to hear a song about something that actually matters in life. Touched my soul to the core. That is why disturbed is my favorite band.
David voice is so amazing! When this song came out my boss at work just died suddenly. He was truly a great man. It was so heartbreaking. We had a gathering to remember him at the baseball field he would coach at. He use to play pro baseball back in the day and we felt holding that gathering there was fitting. I played this song in honor of him. Beautiful beautiful song

This amazing song called Hold on to Memories by Disturbed will now and forever be played on today, the anniversary of my brother’s passing and on December 2 for my dad (17 years gone). It is elegant, and uplifting and speaks to my heart. If you have ever lost a loved one, you should give it a listen. Love you and miss you terribly Steve. ❤️💔 And thank you to the band for such an amazing song to help us through the tough days.
I lost my Mother Father and brother. I also lost my mind. Draimin put my shattered heart back together. From their first album to the newest every song it felt like it was meant for my heart. He is my Archangel.
Having lost my grandfather three weeks ago, I played this song in his memory. This is just an absolutely powerful song. It reminds us all that life is too damn short. We never know when our end will come. So take time out of your day to spend with loved ones. Wether it be friends, family, your significant other, anyone who has made an impact on your life. Because it's those memories that last and make your life memorable
So I am a new friend to Disturbed, I thought David's performance of sound of silence was exceptional but the more I hear this band"s music the song remember the moments just brought me to tears what a voice David has, what a group may your memory always survive!

I want this played at my Celebration of Life.
Never heard of Disturbed until a few days ago when I heard Sound of Silence. I am a huge fan now. Going out to get some cd's. Would love for them to re-do some oldies on one album in ther own version......
I want to hear them do "Light My Fire" and "White Rabbit"!
Drenda Parfitt
Hi Drenda.
Disturbed did Songs Of Silence better than Simon and Garfunkel I hate to say that but it’s true imo. And the video is magnificent.

Mr Paul Simon agreed with you.
Ez egyszerűen páratlan, ez a szám, ez a hang, zene fantastikus❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤
I love this! My father passed last month of Covid-19 ... “ memory”tears are streaming down my face right now. I am in the medical field and the provider I work for lost their brother two weeks after my dad. I shared this song with her, told her to grab tissue before listening lol! She absolutely loved it! Disturbed is now one of my favorites! I original discovered them when I heard their rendition of Sound of Silence... it is wonderful!!!
I’m very sorry for your lost my condolences.
Sorry for your loss. Disturbed came into my life when I heard their rendition of Sound of Silence as well. The lyrics are amazing and sometimes are the only thing that keeps me alive, such powerful songs and performances...About these memories, there's one message I would like to share:
"The saddest part of life is when the person who gave you the best memories becomes the memory"
Anyway, if I wrote anything wrong, sorry, I'm Brazilian and sometimes my english is not that well hahahaha. Hope u have an amazing life and remember: there's always a reason to fight.
@@brunocandiadallanora9610 your words were beautiful! I find myself listening to “Disturbed” more and more lol! The whole album.. seems to make me feel better! Please stay safe!
@@lisastewart7332 Hahahaha me too, their songs are just wonderful to keep us going. Hope u stay safe!!
So sorry for your loss
😭 lost my big Maine Coon Odin SUDDENLY and am heartsick. Thank you for your beautiful timely performance! 💕💕💕💔💔💔💔💕💕💕💕
God: Would you like the voice of an angel or a demon?
Dave Draiman: Yes
This is really very accurate
Haha so very true
mikeb12879 He’s truly incredible
LOL...A classically trained cantor angel/demon...🤣🤣🤣
Awesome comment!!!
This song makes me cry every freakn time.
🤧
I dedicate to my girlfriend who passed away 2.5 years ago. Awesome performance.
Oh, David. There are no words......💕. Bless you for the music.
Every now and again there comes along a song that just seems to touch everyone and have a profound impact. From the gentle opening melodic sounds of the guitar to Davids powerful yet sensual vocals, there is something for everyone. One of the most powerful songs to date........
You should check out the live concert video for "A Reason to Fight". Just as powerful as this one.
Hes so fantastic. I could listen all day to his voice.
Beautiful
Definitely! I love their heavy stuff. But dammit I love their ballads too!
I would pre pre order that album in a heartbeat 😍😍😍😍
A whole album of ballads? That would be beautiful!!!! 😍
A beautiful song, played and sung by beautiful people, and so many beautiful and moving comments. Thank you all
This song is not jujst emotionally touching, but his voice hits you hard in this. His voice makes this song what it is and you can tell how it hit him.
Really happy to see he's been taking care of his voice with proper technique. He may even be at his best now.
He doesn’t do the uhh waaa ahhh ahh ahh ...shit, those were the times. Down with sickness , stupify , the game , voices , fear, god disturbed are so unique..i have to agree with you tho his voice aged perfectly welll
I lost my little brother Aug 2018. This song means so much. Thank you ❤
Have watched the reels of Disturbed on here, this is the first song I’ve heard I think I could become a Disturbed fan as from now❤ on
Wow This song love it and David you sang it beautiful the words bring me to tears every time I listen to it 😢My brother is fighting for his life now he has a very nasty cancer, We are a family of 6 kids my 3 sisters have passed from cancer I am in remission now my youngest brother is fighting for his life ,my oldest brother is the only family member to not have this nasty 🤢 disease...Well done to you David and your awesome band Disturbed loved you guys for a long time ❤️ x
I pray your brother is healing now and your family is not attacked with cancer again.
This band is maturing nicely, like a fine wine.
OMG You can see the feeling and emotion of the lyrics in David’s voice and facial expressions! What a beautiful powerful version to an amazing song! Thank You
Amo a sua voz.....❤❤❤
Listen, everyone
The time will come when all of us say goodbye
Feel that aching in your heart
Leaving you broken inside
But we're never really gone
As long as there's a memory in you mind
So now go do the best things in life
Take a bite of this world while you can
Make the most of the rest of your life
Make a ride of this world while you can
Take the ones you love
And hold them close because there is little time
And don't let it break your heart
I know it feels hopeless sometimes
But they're never really gone
As long as there's a memory in you mind
So now go do the best things in life
Take a bite of this world while you can
Make the most of the rest of your life
Make a ride of this world while you can
And hold on to memories
Hold on to every moment
To keep them alive
The world's greatest tragedy
Souls who are not remembered
Cannot survive
So now go do the best things in life
Bring the fight to this world while you can
Make the most of the rest of your life
Shine your light on this world while you can
And hold on to memories
Hold on to every moment
To keep them alive
The world's greatest tragedy
Souls who are not remembered
Cannot survive
And hold on to memories (Hold on)
Hold on to every moment
To keep them alive (Keep them alive)
The world's greatest tragedy (Hold on)
Souls who are not remembered
Cannot survive
thank you for posting the lyrics- great song!!
Thank you !💖
Hold on to those you love
I dont get it..explain
David is an incredible singer. He isn’t just a screamer.
I'm still trying to figure out how this got any "thumbs down" yet alone 290. Amazing performance.
@@parksnewbornportraiture4989 your to nIce , They suck like they could do better !? It so crazy people are so picky and silly .
@@teecop4735 eh, perhaps. I’d like to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they just don’t know any better.
@@parksnewbornportraiture4989 Ok let’s say that 😂 lol !
When someone you love becomes a memory, then that memory becomes your treasure…
I dedicate this song to my mother who left this world two years ago.. Mom this song is for you, I know you are saying this to me.. I love You and I Miss You... Til we meet again :'( ..... Such a Beautiful song
I'm sorry Donna... I feel the same way about my mom. We WILL meet.. I only say that because she passed 3 days after I was born...so, never got to...but WE WILL BOTH be reunited with our mothers

Back up singer is just as good of a singer. What a perfect band.
Love love love David's voice!!! This band is amazing! Would be wonderful to sing with them!
David Draiman has world's most beautiful voices I have ever heard
One of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. ❤
How did it take me so long to find Disturbed? Now a fan for life.
I play this tune every morning. Dance with my memories. Sets the day up.
Awh, so true and beautiful, I love you guys, TY and I am 66 yr old woman, you energize my soul!!
I'd like to dedicate this song to my dad. Passed away in 1986 I was 2. Due to leukemia, his influences in rock n roll are the reason for my passion for music.
I Love the softer side of his voice. LOVE LOVE LOVED his Sound of Silence rendition. Do you have cd's of these softer songs?
Every year on December I remember loosing my bestie and 34 others from my company at Kim Son 12/17/66 it’s always been part of me as they were part of me. I keep them alive by living a good life they were cheated out of and I’ll never never forget them. This song has added new meaning to their loss. I make the most of the rest of my life.
They played this at my sisters graduation from police camp
I can’t get this song out of my head. It’s so nice to hear a song about something that actually matters in life. Touched my soul to the core. That is why disturbed is my favorite band.
Drága David én most olvadók el, ezt meg nem hallottam!

Disturbed brilliant 👏 👌 too all who have lost someone it's true always be in our hearts and we all be together in the end 💙 ❤ ♥
I loss my mother in April, following her passing, May I loss my dad. Sure miss them. ❤️
This video is a gentle reminder....their memories, their love remains forever.
Thank you.
I lost my 14 year old son March 7th in a car accident. this song hits home & means a whole bunch. R. I.P Mitch
I Love this band Disturbed, they are sooooooo talented. This coming from a 60 year old music lover.
And a 78 yo music lover.

That voice. One of the most powerful out there.
Such A powerful song we all the human race need to be listing to this song thank you
Having lost my grandfather three weeks ago, I played this song in his memory. This is just an absolutely powerful song. It reminds us all that life is too damn short. We never know when our end will come. So take time out of your day to spend with loved ones. Wether it be friends, family, your significant other, anyone who has made an impact on your life. Because it's those memories that last and make your life memorable
So I am a new friend to Disturbed, I thought David's performance of sound of silence was exceptional
but the more I hear this band"s music the song remember the moments just brought me to tears what a voice David has, what a group
may your memory always survive!
Teresa Moyer Maybe stay away from their music from 10 years ago then...... not everyone’s cup of tea but I love it all.
