2020 and I've just discovered Disturbed at age 63. At least I've found them now.

Exactly...those are the so called fans that abandoned a band because they grow and mature. They bitch about them cutting their fucking HAIR, and then they want all albums to sound EXACTLY the same, but then bitch when they sound the same, so when they change they bitch about that too. Lol in my opinion, I think the fans are the ones who sell out. They dont know what theyre missing and obviously are stuck in one genre of music. These guys don't even HAVE a genre, because theyre unique. If you actually listen to their entire discography critically and very closely, its borderline if NOT, genius.
What they did with sound of silence for example, although over played to some, its so powerful and insanely intricate and emotional, most could hear it all day every day. S&G actually said "its HIS song now" thats a compliment!

It still amazes me how they made their name through songs like ‘stupify’ and ‘down with the sickness’ and now they are bringing out songs no one would have expected a band with a sound as unique as theirs could make.

I must admit I wouldn't be a Disturbed fan if they kept on the path of those older songs.. I like the newer stuff much more
This was only natural for them. They did what great bands do write great songs. This was not shocking at all. It was natural
I have always been a fan of hard rock/metal but with a powerful singer. I can be flexible if that singer is on point! And David always is on point!!

From the bottom of my heart, Disturbed, you have LITERALLY saved my soul with this song! My heart took her own life in front of me a couple years ago and this song has kept me from doing the same. I'm now off drugs and a longshoreman. I'm slowly figuring it out. It still hurts like all fukk. Tonight it's back and here I am, half a bottle deep and begging for forgiveness. Thank you for putting to music what I tell myself every single day.

Hearing this song gets me everytime. I lost my sister to addiction and depression. I fight depression myself. Thank God he is singing to build awareness on the battle we all go through. No matter what music you like you can always tell the heart of a singer by his words.

first time i heard this song i cried like a baby . it really hit home HARD . Ive been battling depression since 1999 . i am also 3 years clean from an Opiate addiction . it was just by fluke that i scrolled across this amazingly insane song by one of my #1 bands . His range is superb! Like, he can go from crazy songs like DWTS to mellow it out w/ Sound of Silence, and this is the perfect balance of the two!!!

OK, I have to admit. It takes a while to get used to the album. It's a somewhat new sound. The whole album seems to be "softer" than others before. But I think, that's not a bad thing. I think, there is a reason why the album is called EVOLUTION. Evolution means changing. Beginning a new era. It means coming out of the seas and living on land by now. It also means, at least to me, changing the tone and it might mean settle down a bit. But finally: it is a great album! But, to run on the treadmill in the gym, I still need a little bit of Sickness to feel like am I am Indestructible and to keep me going on that damn thing ;) And I'm glad to have the freedom to choose.

Return of the power ballads
I have been around the block..more times than i care to admit...a HUGE Metal fan...it's saved my life more than once..Spent time in the Penn...and always held life and love as sacred...because it is.
7 Years ago i had a massive brain hemorrhage, MANY doctors and nurses took care of me, i don't remember a lot of that time, my beautiful gf told me the ER nurse, would NOT leave my side as i was moved to the Helicopter , held my hand ..she even called the Hospital i was flown to the next morning in her own time to see if i made it and was ok ...I was mindset on fighting and would NOT lay down and die..
2 months later i was up on a walker with help getting my ass around the ward..FIGHTING...Pain and such are there always...what we we do with it , is what matters...we can let it own us or we can look in the mirror and say...NO....this is MY life!!
Today...i live with Stage 3 Cancer, it hurts...daily, i STILL help my clients who need help...my arms reach to people who need help and deserve it....
I do the SAME thing as i did back when i stood in front that mirror in the hospital...every morning..this is MY life...F you...i have amazing people to help ...you ain't stopping that!!
My amazing Father told me when i was young, don't you EVER lay with your last thought be "I wish.."

Every album just gets better and better. I see this song being an anthem for so many going through depression or just needing that sign to keep going.
I know this song is about fighting addiction....but my mother is 74 years old battling a brutal fight with cancer. She fell and broke her hip which the surgery had postponed her chemo treatments. As she was recovering from the hip surgery she fell again and broke her tailbone. She is officially doing chemo again but she is suffering. It breaks my heart cause this is the woman who truly is the strongest person I know. She was crying to me yesterday about the pain she is in and I didnt know what to say. I am gonna be 48 and yes it scares the hell out of me kowing I may lose her. Basically I am saying this song I incorporate differently then the true meaning. I hope she continues to fight. Fight the cancer and kick its f*cking ass permenatly!!!!!

Uninvited Guest is my favorite, but God Damn! This sounds EXACTLY like the studio version and i just gonna ask...How are most modern rock/metal "MUSICIANS" not able to do this nowadays??!?!??! These guys have been around for 20 years and STILL make incredible rock/metal music in this great (but pretty confusing) day and age. SO rare nowadays!

I could’ve given up , but God gave me strength . And it’s artists like Disturbed that help me to NOT GIVE UP and to ALWAYS KEEP MY HEAD UP . This song was the PERFECT VICTORY SONG . Thank you ! 😸
This song hits me hard, I do not have the saddest story nor the most amazing feats of getting through problems, but when I start to hate myself, wanting do end my life or vanish, I always listen to these perfect lyrics, they help me understand that even though I hate myself or think I do not deserve to live, there's always a reason to fight, be it my parents (to make them proud, to give them some kind of happiness), my friends (giving them good moments and friendship) or anyone that needs some kind of help or a good moment of relief. All of you who are sad or doesn't feel loved, hope you get well soon and never forget: that's not something worth dying for...

I first heard Disturbed playing 'Down With the Sickness' during a weekday wrestling show. I tried to remember their name because I wanted to tell a coworker about them because she liked heavy metal. When I couldn't remember their name I called my middle son who lived and breathed metal. He's a monotone with a deep voice. So when he said "it's Disturbed" it just sounded so cool.

Just started listening to this band disturbed. I am 78 years old and just enjoy this number very much! (Perhaps because I could understand it because the music was not so loud.) First heard of David Draiman when I heard him sing Sounds of Silence. It was outstanding! I hope Mr. Draiman does more of that type of song! I think he has a tremendous voice! My kids and I went to see Disturbed in concert January of 2019. Such an amazing performance. That was the first time I ever heard them perform his song. My son is a recovering addict and so it hit home. Everyone in my family were in tears during this performance. They did an whole section on depression and addiction, it was freaking amazing! I have always loved Disturbed, but that day was when my devotion to them really began. David Draimen has an amazing vocal range. Love you Disturbed!!!!

I've noticed a lot of singers sing through their throat and you can tell he sings completely through his nasal cavity which is very different and does make a unique sound and style all his own

The band is great but it is David that has me mesmerized. I just can't hear enough of him. He is so incredibly talented.
They should do more songs like this, the harmony is excellent. They don't always need to go as heavy as they did in their album Indestructible even though they have covered "the sound of silence" there is nothing wrong with changing style, a mix of styles give a vast opportunity to undertake.

This song has just broken me. I suffer both a and d every day. I've beaten a to a point, but d still dogs me, the second I let my guard down. I listened 3 times. First to get the full meaning (the live version with the interviews of people suffering addiction and depression was very very powerful..David tells the huge audience to raise their hands if they are suffering or know someone who is suffering or has committed suicide due to addiction and/or depression, every hand went up, including all the band members). I listened a second time sobbing uncontrollably, realising that this song is for me,and then the 3rd listen I felt cleansed somehow. David, and the group,thank you for joining the crusade, for standing tall, for arming us with the strength to get through another day. On this day, in this hour, I really needed to hear some words of positivity because I'm low, I'm very low, and I just stumbled upon this powerful song. I feel better now, better than I did 2 hours ago, and that's all that matters
