17 years active duty, 4 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. This song and video hits so freaking hard. I love this band so much for bringing awareness to the terrible and ignored issue with Veterans.
This made me cry. I recently lost my father, a Vietnam Veteran. He was a good man who quietly struggled with PTSD all his life. Uncles, cousins, nephews - all veterans. All struggling. Most making it, some not. Pray for them all. God bless them.
Sorry for your loss. My grandfather was a WWII veteran. My dad is a Vietnam veteran and my uncle who passed away was also a Vietnam veteran. I'm a veteran of the Afghanistan and Iraq war. PTSD is very real with no real help for it.
Sorry for your loss but this song/video should be broadcast on every single TV channel across America and then you and your American counterparts might do something about the problems and lies "the greatest country in the world" actually face, the statistics in the video are shameful, how can the richest country on Earth treat their veterans and citizens so poorly, wake up the only people in America getting anything from the richest country on Earth are the richest people
17 years in the Army and all I have to show is no longer having my right leg , I re visit this video many times a week and it helps me in ways no other can. Thank you FFDP , you’ll never truly know the good you e done for Veterans like myself .
Брат сейчас по всему миру такое же происходит на Украине русские и украинцы. евреи с Палестиной и черт пойми что там они не могут поделить .ты живи главное не сдавайся ты солдат
Five Finger Death Punch puts a message out there that's actually good. This video has raised awareness for veterans, and these are one of the few artists I know who have sung for a good cause. This video brought me to tears. Great job guys❤️
I am a vet and almost became homeless. If it wasn't for my girlfriend's mom letting me live with them and get back on my feet, I would have became homeless. I listened to this song so many time before watching this video. And while watching this, I had a hard time focusing on the music because the subtitles and focusing on the expressions of these veterans really got to me. I liked the ending because there are a few amount of people that would help a homeless person, vet or not, off the street like that. When those 2 people locked eyes.... Edit: Well sadly we recently gotten divorced(married for 12yrs and together for 16yrs). It’s been rough for me lately. She seems to regret what she did but is struggling financially. I’m only struggling mentally. I didn’t have just my heart crushed….it was shattered. Last few months I’ve been having to pick up the pieces to become what I’ve been training to be. Now all I do is work, workout, play video games and watch anime. Anything to keep my mind busy. But at night….when I sleep….its quiet and my mind wonders 😢😭
they were in the same squad too if you payed enough attention. An ANY veteran out there thank you for all the hard work and all the sacrifices you had to make to keep this country safe.
Thank you, I've never met you but you risked your life for the sake of my safety. Regardless of the abuses our government uses soldiers to conduct, we cannot abandon our own fellow man.
Lost a friend two days ago to suicide. A Navy vet with severe PTSD and depression. May Joe RIP! This song spoke deeply to my heart and what Joe went through. M own father was a Korean War vet who had nightmares the entire time I was growing up. War is hell and we owe our veterans so much more.
I feel your pain cuz I've lost friends the same way. My father was a a vet and his ptsd from Vietnam turned him into an abusive sadistic human being. He finally got a handle on it a few years before his death
As a graduate of Boonville, an OEF vet, someone whos struggled with homelessness and near homelessness, being hospitalized multiple times for service connected mental health issues. I've got nothing but respect for all of you and the message you bring. Keep fighting the good fight.
@SalemElloit it's a good place to raise a family. Quiet, and peaceful. Most of my family has moved away to surrounding areas, but I still think of it as home no matter where I go.
You are not the only one that gets choked up. This my first time watching this video. I've replied to 5 people already and I'm still crying Happy because there are men and women willing to do the unthinkable for our country You have my utmost apologies and a big thanks for your service
Damn this song just cuts deep. Not a serviceman or woman. But it gets the tears flowing every time. God bless our servicemen and women. And god bless everyone in the comments sharing their stories!
This song really is deep. I mean, I'm European, so the facts in this video and the listed organizations don't apply, but the message still does come across. We need to take care of the people who give everything up for others.
Joining the armed forces of america was the worst decision ive ever made. If you are watching this and you are thinking of this path, please reconsider.
A lot of people say the saddest part is the end, but I really think when the vet is getting arrested and how is he on the verge of tears (accompanied by captions saying ``A veteran doesn`t understand why his sacrifice went unappreciated) was what nearly got me. It`s also sad how the father Veteran never got any justice, the arrested vet gets empathy from the cop (who was also a vet or atleast served with his unit), the black Vet (no better way to describe him, unfortunately) meets up with the vet that saved his life, and might have helped him get his life on track. The father veteran is left sitting in the street, crying over his lost daughter.
Yet I think I saw on Facebook a few months ago or last year a veteran said, unlike what Trump claims, Veterans haven’t had it any better (support wise for any of the problems listed in the video: homelessness, PTSD, etc.) then the past few years.
"You know me. You saved my life brother" Every time. I cry every time. I just...I usually am crying already, but even at my most apathetic, I shed a tear. Never fails.
I lose what little control I still had when the woman pulls her child away from the soldier on the street who only wanted to offer him a flower. When he looks at the photo of his own daughter it becomes obvious he hasn't seen her in a long time, and doesn't know when he will see her again. That starts the waterworks and by the time the scene you referenced comes along I can barely see.
When the guy in the suit said "you saved my life brother" that shit het me hard. My grandpa just got out of the army after 18 years of service in the army. He was with the 82ed and deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan 8 times he's an infantry men and has horrible PTSD and I ask him why did he do this to himself and every time he's says " for you " and man that shit brakes my heart
I was in AFJROTC as a teenager in high school and it was the best thing I ever chose to do. I've never held more respect, appreciation, and admiration for veterans than I do now and reading all these statistics about veterans now really breaks my heart. The fact so many veterans have put everything on the line and have returned with nothing and received nothing in return makes me emotional beyond belief. I've listened to a lot of music in my life and I think this may be one of the few which brought a few genuine tears to my eyes. If there are any veterans somewhere somehow reading this. I beg you please DO NOT give up. You ARE important. You are loved. What you did for us and what you fought for means EVERYTHING. 😢❤🇺🇸
That brought tears to my eyes. I am a Vietnam vet and was homeless and living out of my car. I met a man who owned a Chinese restaurant that fed me and encouraged me. Priceless. I am so grateful for my life, now.
You are a hero man. How you guys were treated when you returned home was disgraceful. It is understandable how your health could easily deteriorate after being called baby killers etc. You're a patriot and I love all the Vietnam vets. Real bad asses. Thank you for your service.
My Brother, there are still people that love you and appreciate you and so many, many others answering the call for Our Great Country and for ever single one of all of us. You all are HEROES!!!!
Every day I walked to work wearing a suit and tie thinking how much my job sucked and how much I wish I had a better life, Then one day I sat down beside a homeless man who didnt have his hand out. Imagine how absurd I felt sitting there in a suit, then I listened to his story, and every day for two years I sat down beside my homeless friend Rowl. Rowl would not let me give him money. He wanted me to just listen. So I did. One day my friend wasn't there. I haven't seen him since. I miss my friend, and, more importantly I really appreciate his sacrifice for us. Thank you Rowl. I miss you brother... You have tough me that a simple act of kindness is the least we can do and often what we owe the people we ignore... We can be better....
+Jim Akeson I cried watching this video.... ten minutes later, i calmed down.... then i cried AGAIN reading this comment.... i hope Rowl is in a better place yeah? (im not american btw)
+Jim Akeson Thats all veterans want is someone to just try to understand what they saw and had to do. I have befriended many vets and some dont want to talk about their experiences andd some do. The most important thing is just being there as a friend. God bless you for your simple act of kindness, we need more like you.
I wasn’t expecting this video to bring tears to my eyes. I love this song, and now it has even more meaning and emotional value because it’s dedicated to the brave servicemen who sacrificed everything for the people of this country. God bless them, and God bless the USA. May they finally get the help they need and deserve.
My dad served in the navy for 8 years. I’m 25 and there are still things my dad won’t tell me about what happened back there. He’s almost 60 and he only gets 2 hours of sleep at night at most. Any noise at all will wake him up. It makes me wonder if something happened to him back there beyond what he’s told me. I’m about to cry writing this as a grown man because I’ve only ever seen my dad cry once in my whole life. When I was 15 he sat me down to talk about the war, because earlier that day I told him I wanted to join the service. He cried that night. That’s why five finger death punch is and always will be my favorite band.
Just be there for him mate I was 21 when my dad died by his own hands he served in the Australian Army for 26 years and went on 7-8 deployments they won’t talk about what they went through and never ask unless they tell you to but if he starts talking about his PTSD keep a close eye on him!!
I know this feeling. My Gramps is Marine deceased. He served in WW2. Gramps didn't talk about it. I was told to not ask questions. Much was discovered after Gramps passed. I'm not going to go into details, but at least I know why EVERYONE walked carefully around him. And before anyone says anything, Gramps was my best friend growing up.
Also, my younger brother was a coreman in the Navy. He was a medic attached to a Marine unit. He doesn't talk about it much either. But when he does, I shut up and listen.
"You saved my life brother", and then "you're going to be OK". Roll back in the video... both men say the same words to each other at different times. Also, operater grabs Jacoby by the lbv and moves him. Jacoby grabs operator in the same way and rescues him!
I come back to this MV every Veterans and Memorial day. I still cry every time I watch it. Whether you love the band or not, this is one of the most important rock songs of all time. Thank you FFDP and thank you to all Veterans out there
As British vet of 23 years I thank you all for your commitment, I've been there, all the emotions, thanks for your recognition. We have a massive issue over here in UK same as you guys..... this really hit hard.
$oldiers, wrong side of Heaven righteous side of Hell......... Paid mercenaries in the end, tormented by the same barbaric Slave/Servitude nature of the beast - $old, the World doesn't need $oldiers, it needs Warriors
My grandpa served his country. He was one of the forgotten veterans. He took his own life in 2016. I hope and pray he is at peace. I love and miss you Grandpa 💙
I'm on my Dad's account. He volunteered for the Marine Corps during the Vietnam war. He passed on May the 13th of 2021. I dedicate this song to you, Dad...Ooraah.
your Father was and is a HERO , anyone coming back from Vietnam alive was just very lucky... Oorah ! to your father, I recently lost a friend who also served with 82 airborne , he was an amazing man and I miss him dearly...
I'm a vet, my time was in the 70's and 80's the so called " Cold War " . I lost a lot of brothers and sisters in uniform. PTSD was unheard of. This song touched me both mentally and physically. Thank you for opening the eyes of those you have not served this great country!
Великой стране??? Где губернатор покупает дома бездомным ветеранам. Америка давно не великая страна. Что вы наделали в Ливии, Сирии, Афганистане, Ираке? Принесли горе и смерть... А песня хорошая.
@@08127serega Atleast america has never threatened their neighboring countries, i am personally so democratic that i will let you idolize your totalitarian state where the only human right is to die. And yes, the song is pretty good, that we can agree with.
I'm not a veteran, but this makes me fall to pieces. For all of those whom lost their life in war, in the name of freedom, freedom for the rest of us, I say thank you. I can't even imagine what you been through, for the sake of the rest of us. For those that falled I say Godspeed, for the ones that lived through I say, forgive us, forgive our ignorence, forgive us for not seeing, forgive us for not listening, forgive me brothers and sisters. You are remembered, not forgotten.
My grandfather and brother are veterans (my brother still serves in the US as a Brigade Command Sergeant Major at Fort Benning as a dual USA/British citizen, and I am so very proud of him) and I too share your sentiments.
As a combat veteran I can honestly say the lyric "I'm no hero and I'm not made of stone" hits so hard. People have called me a hero, I'm no hero and sometimes my PTSD is so crushing I cry so the "I'm not made of stone" lyric is spot on.
That part does hit hard. When people assume you have no emotion, it's easier to assume we don't need support. To me that line is saying in essence "I hurt". Which is something no one wants to admit. The fortunate side is acknowledging the pain leads the way to finding a way to heal. I never saw combat but as a sailor and fellow veteran, I'd like to thank you for your service.
I think people have a lot of respect for the sacrifice made by service men/women. For them saying you're a hero is, maybe, an inadequate way of expressing a profound gratitude of the self sacrifice that you chose for everyone else.
Brother from one to another I thank you for your service to the world. Our own government and some of our own citizens may not care. But your brothers and sisters in uniform appreciate what you gave up and sacrificed to keep the world a little safer.
You stood strong for all of us who needed you. Thanks for your service. No one is stone god bless you for being strong enough to stand for us. Also to all who served best wishes!!
About a month and a half ago, my boyfriend committed suicide. He was a veteran. He suffered from PTSD. He rarely talked about his time in the service, but it was something his family and I always knew affecting him more than we could ever understand. I’ve always loved this band. I’ve even seen them live. Thank you for this. Veterans deserve better help and support. My boyfriend deserved better help after serving. Thank you for this song. The video was hard to watch, but still worth it.
Sorry to hear about that. I was Desert Shield/Storm and came home broken too, spent a lot of time homeless, hopefully you can resolve this in your life. It wasn't your fault.
I can almost guarantee that this song alone has done more to help raise awareness and money for veterans and homeless vets than our government has in 50+ years
I'd agree that it may have raised awareness, but the money to help has been sadly lacking. I am one of the many veterans that have experienced homelessness, and I'm soon to be in that same damn boat again. Our government has been so interested in enriching themselves that the ones who have kept their freedoms alive are merely an afterthought. It is sickening, and a sad commentary of this country.
I agree with that and like I've said before. There is absolutely no reason for any of our veterans to be homeless. Cold hungry, whatever this country should take care of our veterans, till the day they pass for free. We need to take care of our own first and stop worrying about the rest of the world. Take care of our own first cause. I aint nobody out there taking care of iris. That's something we should do. I'm an army veteran and then I'm blessed because I have a home. I have good insurand that is such a blessing. And it's a miracle in my life. I can't stand the fact that. I've entrance around the street. Some of them in the cold. Someone emptied it arms andelete some of them's brain. Are not right. There's a lot of things and they should NOT EVER BE WITHOUT. People don't realize this country without our soldiers and veterans. It's like heaven with no angels. A lot of good men and women stand up for our way of life and everybody. We have now and our military branches are all volunteers. There's not been a draft since Vietnam. And I must say Vietnam veterans are not treated fairly. They're not treated right and that's a shame .
I thank you for your service and I just gotta say it's a d*** shame there's no reason ever for vete trains are elderly and are children to be hungry cold homeless wild people from other countries and nations come here. We take care of them. But what better own I'm a veteran as well. But I'm blessed that I do have a home. I have good insurance where I can do medical. And that is such a blessing in my life. I could not imagine not having some more light in my head. Not having a blanket to cover up me. In my little Fur baby, it's a d*** shine. Veterans should be taken care of 100% free for the rest of their life. Shouldn't have to worry about d*** thing. But as you said, our governments to worry about other s*** to worry about the ones who stood up. I still stand to protect our way of life. Thank you for your servi. Don't know where you're from but if I could help you I will
@@johnarango9145 you couldn't be more wrong. We don't fight for government's or politicians they just send us we fight for our brothers and sisters alongside us determined to bring them home safely sadly a task that weighs heavily when you fail
@@NoNo-ng3nx if no one was there to protect you the biggest and strongest would take everything from you.Its called assurance of mutual destruction.Throughout time that's happened and if you think it wouldn't you're incredibly naive. An awful lot of people in power down the centuries were the archetypal schoolyard bully just on a bigger scale and the military are people who will stand up to protect people In the British army we are a long way from being brainwashed. We have to think for ourselves at the lowest rank and are expected to understand the law of armed conflict along with a lot of other things that are integrated into core values In the Balkans we stood between civilians and people carrying out the most awful atrocities during a civil war. What were we supposed to do just leave them to it?The things carried out were horrible, and we didn't stop everything, but we made a difference.Even in iraq the human rights violations by the regime were horrendous.I don't trust politicians anymore than you do but the only thing needed for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing
@@NoNo-ng3nx it may sound like that. But why do governments send soldiers to mali for example? Because local war and local terrorists destroy local civilians lifes and terrorists spread all the time. We send soldiers because other governments ask for our help and also if we wouldn't send troops out they would spread around the world more and more and it wouldn't be safe for you to be in home no matter where u live. See this is the thing. If we wouldn't send troops there wouldn't be noone to fight u said right? Well not all other countries are as civilised and Well organised. Some ppl are full of criminals and terrorists and u think they would stop spreading and killing just bc we don't sen troops there? No. That's the point
@Benjamin Picton its the same narrative trotted out over and over but no one ever seems to actually understand how the real world works mate I joined as it's a family tradition and I was truly proud to have served and made a difference l,however small,in some of the worst places
A man with a pure heart is not frivolous person. Truth, justice makes people much stronger and obliges them to do what they must to do. Only fools hesitate.
This is not a music video, this is the expression of the harsh reality that happens around the world 🥺💔 i can't watch this video or hear this song without tears. ❤
Five Finger Death Punch thank you for making this video. I am an Army Vet. For years I couldn't understand why my world was spinning out of control. I dealt with my demons for years and pushed them down deep inside me until they started to come to the surface. I was one of those that seeking help was not an option until I got the help I needed and found that I was not weak or alone. To all of you military veterans my fellow brothers and sisters that see this no matter what branch or country be strong help is out there GET IT. We have endured hell, we have made our sacrifices by missing our families grow up, those anniversaries, birthdays, we have served as our our loved ones pasted away. We have watched our brothers and sisters fall in front of us. I urge you, if you need help get it, talk with someone reach out to your battle buddies and talk hell I'm hear if you need. To those of you that haven't served or couldn't serve. There's still something you can do HELP A VET. If you own a business give them a job. A military Veteran can be trained to do anything.

God Bless You! Thank You for Your Service! I will give job for military veterans!
To any veterans or current serving members of our military reading this, thank you. Regardless of how debated our presence in the Middle East has become, I for one will always support people that are willing to lay down their lives for others. Especially in this day and age where you receive so many insults from people sitting behind computer screens.
it doesnt matter where you stand politically, our troops/veterans need our support. the men and women of the armed forces are the most selfless and honorable individuals on the planet and have earned that respect through blood, sweat, fire, and tears. everyone needs to remember that freedom isnt free. Thank you Jade Hudson for your support.
wraith502 selfless, honorable? Yeah, right. I guess you forgot how the armed forces used to make fun of Iraqi's and piling them up naked and torturing them everyday right? Honorable my ass you deluded fool
TheSoufiane you sleep all safe and sound under the freedom that you are provided by these heros then criticize the methods by which it was obtained? take the oath, grab your gear and do the time, then you can criticize. ive done my time and would do it again. until you have walked in a soldiers boots, shut the fuck up troll!!
I was a homeless vet for 3 years until I was rescued by an old flame. We broke up after living together for 7 years, but we're still living together and we're still best friends. I'll never abandon her. I'll never not take care of her. She's recently developed a severe disability and can't navigate down stairs or even take a shower without someone there to help her and I'll forever be that person as long as she wants. I'll never forget that she was there for me when I was at my lowest. I have a wonderful career and 2 college degrees because of her. All I needed was a helping hand and she gave me that and more.
damn my dad was 17 when he got into military he's going to finish his job in about 2 or 3 more years he is 36 now 20 years in military had a divorce but still comes home happy each and every day just to make me feel better I really love and appreciate him After two years of posting this comment I got it all wrong. My mom is the one suffering and my dad is the piece of shit he doesn't treat us right and we have over 7 dogs. He buys shit food all the time when he can afford to feed us better and a lot of other very horrible things my dad really sucks. But I still have major respect for other veterans because they risked their life to protect. I have to take back what I said again. I feel he cares about us he is just struggling, I talked to him today and it made me feel better. As bad as I think we have it over here at least we got a house and food. I'm unsure of his character but he does want me succeed in life.
God saved your ASS ! Keep humble and appreciate what you got...Good on you son ! I have lived with a visually impaired person most of my life and i am proud for what i have given...She gave me a healthy , happy son who i adore and respect, for him being the great person he has become. Life is precious and enjoy your moments ! Merry Christmas and may God grant you a Happy New Year !
Completely agree. Between songs like this that point out the hypocrisy and the stats for vets all over the world. I just. . . I just can't even vote or believe there's some 'just cause' behind wars.
Feel that. On matter where the war is fought, it is still bad. It's always the pawns but not the bishop. Sadly, its humans they are sending out to fight their wars. 😭
My dad was a big drinker and abuser. I struggled with building relationships after I moved out. Took away my self worth. I soon drowned in the darkness and became my father. I became the man I promised. I would never become. I picked up that bottle and couldn’t let it go. Almost pushing away all my family and loved ones. I put that bottle down 10/19/22 and have made the changes. To being the father, son, and husband and friend my father could never become. I’m grateful that I was able to overcome my addiction. And get the help I needed. Thank you for the song. Really helps keep me motivated to keep pushing. 1 day at a time.
Congratulations Austin! The song that hits me the most is The Tragic Truth. Don't know how many times I woke up on the bedroom floor in my own vomit. My family went through it watching me go through it. I sent that video to my mother and it brought her to tears. She remembers
One day at a time for sure. That bottle is like a loaded M9 with the safety off for me. I can’t do it anymore because seizures have become a common occurrence. Once your body gets to that point, it’s only a matter of time until the liver is past the point of repair. Scary stuff. Two tours Iraq 07-08, 2010. USAF Seccurity Forces, Staff Sergeant.
A única maneira de parar com vícios, é se afastar de quem os tem, construir um círculo de amizades diferente, agora parar uma dependência química é, ainda mais difícil
I also cry when I watch this. I have known many veterans who were homeless. It's very heart breaking. I knew a guy who was constantly getting in trouble with law and was homeless. Noone didn't help inform him of his VA benefits. He went to mental health hospital constantly and it still makes me sad when I think of him. The non va system failed him.
My Dad is a vet, and he works at a VA hospital in FL. He gave me a tour and i met a lot of other vets. They ranged from old WW2 vets to Afghan vets, etc. Some even told me a bit about their stories. And each one was different and amazing to hear. Most of these men were homeless as well. I thanked each and every vet i met and was introduced to. Seeing the reality of what they go threw made me cry once we left. And now i understand my Dad more, and his internal battles. He's even opened up to me, and is thankfully getting help for it. I have other family members and friends who are either current or retired. Being born and raised in a military family has shown me a lot. Thank you too all those who served and currently serving💜 .. you all deserve so much more then this
I'm Australian, and ex Royal Australian Air Force, Iraq 2003. Look guys, this video and song just fkn nail the topic of veterans being alienated, broken families from our service, homeless and general such crap that really does happen in real life folks. It doesn't cover veteran suicide or a multitude of other topics. Hopefully one day the Australian people and government will start to actually help us in constant (possibly lifelong) need. Veterans are passionate individuals and all we want is a chance to live with our families again.
it is a shame that many of the brave men and women that serve their country no matter what country they serve are so brutally bashed for doing the right thing for their country.... I have lived in the US for my entire life but even so, I thank you for your service Derek.
I don't know who said it or what the EXACT quote was , but i remember hearing something just figured i'd share it. *"Real soldiers don't fight because they hate what is in front of them, they fight because they love what is behind them"*
im on the spectrum too , but i dont like violence sooooo... also because you said that for a split second i thought your name was "Clutch gods AUTISM trentham" not Austin ha
The way we handle veterans who need our help in this country is pathetic. I believe any veteran who has seen combat, should get there healthcare paid for, or at least a very very good plan, and a large amount of housing paid for as well. But at the same time, it's horrible that young people don't know exactly what they are signing up for.
They fight for US interest, real veterans are iraquies, vietnamese, koreans, pakistani, syrians, cubans, libanon, lybia, ucraine people, serbs and croats and many others...becouse they FIGHT and RESIST for their MOTHERLAND and FATHERLAND againts imperialism, againts terrorism, againts colonialism, againts opression....today there is no patriotic veteran, just poor people used by imperialist Goverment.
PTSD, it scars all of us. What ever horrible thing that happen to us that caused us to get PSTD, it kills us all the same. It eats us inside, sickening us, angering us, the more we feed it with what caused it stringer it gets, the stringer it gets the more we focus in it and feed it more. It will eat us until we are but a husk.
You are never the same when you come back. I had a horrible time adapting to civilian life when I got back. People who’ve never been to war can’t understand how you don’t just shut it off like it never happened.
Coming home has been the scariest thing for me, I gave 6 years of my life and was thrown away like a gum wrapper. Atleast while on duty we had a purpose
@@aeromedical6750 how are we supposed to? We were trained for years to kill and survive and then get put into the civilian world with no help. My family is the only thing that keeps me going every day. You got this brother
10 years after the release + I've listened to the song probably a million times ... I cry every time I watch the video and almost every time I listen to the song (without watching the video) . Not to mention the chills running down the spine and the hairs all over my body standing up. To say this is a great song would be such an understatement!
As a disabled veteran from the army this always hits home every time. It took me 10 years after separation to finally start getting seen by the VA here in MN. Even after that though I still see my brothers and sisters fall through the cracks of our system. The biggest thing that helps a vet suffering from PTSD and other mental illnesses is just having a simple talk.
Hello Brother Andrew, Viet Nam was beyond hell I was only age 20 killing as my job, I will not talk about Viet Nam to anyone, no one will ever understand what we went through in that F. .jungle The nightmares never end Andrew I am age 72 now I just want to f.. die.

I like this song, but that videoclip, damn that is a whole other level. All those scenes are heartbreaking and probably very real. I wish all vets will get the help they need 🙏

+Davey AnR Thank you so much for putting your life no the line i respect you i really do thank you for protecting our country you're very brave ik u didn't wanna be there but u did a great job and have a great day happy veterans day thank you once again for serving for our country god bless you. i know it must be difficult to come home and see all these people disrespecting what you helped keep for them and i thank you for that. GOD BLESS YOU. Have a wonderful day and i hope you enjoy the rest of your life thank you for serving
My grandfather served in the Army during WWII and my dad served in the air force during Vietnam. The both lived tough lives when they came back. My dad came back to an America that spit on him, cursed him and shunned him. Most of the Vietnam war vets were treated this way. He lived his life in shame and guilt. He never could find a great job, became an alcoholic and when my mom and him separated, he was homeless in another state for about a year. He passed away 3 years ago but it breaks my heart to know that he went straight out of highschool to do what everyone back then told him was the "honorable" thing to only be met with hatred and disrespect when he returned. I pray he's in a better place and truly happy after a lifetime of pain!! R.I.P. dad and grandpa!! You will never be forgotten!
It’s hard for someone who’s seen a lot of traumatic stuff to reintegrate. Most of who fail lose their lives which is why these organizations are needed. If only more money went their way.
Stacie Jarrells, my grandfather was drafted during vetinam and he passed away too. May they Both R.I.P. HOOAH. I am getting ready to re-enter but into the Army from the Navy. My condolences and respect.
I was curious about this band when I saw a video of the singer not only stopping a show but also jumping in to assist a fan that was having a seizure. I have heard of them before but have not had a lot of exposure. This song was the first to pop up, and boy, did it move me. I'm ugly crying as I type this. Roughly 40 to 50% of my family and extended families are all currently serving, have served, or are retired from service, including my father, my son, and my ex-husband. I'm so grateful that my family had the support system for our vets. There are too many that don't. I will be a fan of this group forever, even if this is the only song I listen to. Please watch this video to the conclusion. They list many vet organizations and phone numbers at the end.
I CRY EVER TIME I WATCH THIS VIDEO CUZ HOW FOLKS LOOK AT HIM IF THEY ONLY KNEW HIS PAIN NOT HIS LOOKS FAKE ASS COLD HEARTED PEOPLE. I DO NIT CARE ABOUT YOUR IMAGE AND DON'T GIVE 2 SHITS WHAT YOU DO TO FIX THAT BROKEN CHANGED FOREVER PTSD NIGHTMARE HELL Y'ALL WENT THROUGH JUST MAKING IT BACK IS A BLESSING AND IN TACT IS A MIRACLE. MY GRANDADDY'S WERE BOTH IN THE ARMY AND SERVED OUR COUNTRY SO MUCH ONE WAS IN THE DEATH MARCH SURVIVED DIED 5 MONTHS LATER THE OTHER A MEDIC HE COME HOME DIED FROM LUNG CANCER.. ALSO NEVER JUDGED ANYONE BY THEY LOOKS CUZ GOD DON'T LIKE UGLY WE ARE OUR BROTHERS KEEPERS IN MORE THAN ONE WAY .
we lose more brothers here at home than we ever did in battle. they wont do it while deployed, because they would be letting everyone relying on them down. so they come home and even if they are not shunned or discarded, they are still alone with their thoughts, and the knowledge that nobody is depending on them in a life and death situation. makes it easier for them to choose that escape.
🇺🇸🪖 America must open their eyes!! My Son introduced me to Five Finger Death ☠️ Punch....I was so shocked to hear this truth!! Damnit!! There is no conceivable reason our soldiers are not receiving the best care medically as well as housing!! If it weren't for our courageous soldiers WE WOULD NOT BE FREE🇺🇸🪖✨ I thank all of those who have served & are serving for your incredible service 🇺🇸🪖🪖 God bless you 🙏🩵🇺🇸✨
My son is in the Air Force. I have always said anytime you need a place, my doors are open to you and your brothers. Its despicable how America treats these brave men and women who fight and die for this country. If theres anything i can do for anyone thats served or is serving, my doors and arms are open ❤❤
my dad his dad and most of his friends were veterans who were once on the streets if your a veteran watching thank you for your service and dont give up hope!.
I’m still in pain. I served 7 years. I saw 4 countries. I’ve been shot at. I sacrificed more than I could ever explain. I gave up a lot for this country.
As a Navy vet, I took this video with great joy, and sorrow. Joy that groups such as FFDP would put it out like that. And sorrow that idiotic networks like MTV and the news group by NOT showing this to the masses and youth and showing them the plight of what is going on with the Vets of today that need help!
+timabuf and that does not only happen at USA....all countries are the same crap with people that protect them...but they have no problems getting some extra funds...as well as it is disguised as a good action......

I am a Veteran, I was homeless after I returned home from Iraq, I suffer from ptsd and have fought with the VA for help..I fought my way back from severe depression and suicidal tendancies..It was the 2nd hardest road I had to travel..
Thank you for your service! I have never served but am living in a homeless shelter right now and struggled with thoughts of suicide. I'm so glad you're still here.
I can’t remember how many times I’ve cried to this song. This goes to show that nobody knows what veterans went through until we experience it ourselves. To all the veterans out there, I hope you stay strong and live a blessed life❤️
"You know me, brother" I cry every single time. How can we be thrown to the side so easily? I don't understand it. Love and support to all my brothers and sisters in arms.
I think of my Uncle Buzz, who my family lost 1.5 years ago. He was Army in Vietnam. He died due to Agent Orange cancer the second time around. He was an architect and designed the wooden docks and walkways around the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. If you visit, think of George "Buzzy" Manning.
Not only your veterans are forgotten... The USSR second world war veterans, Afganistan soldiers, Chechnya's war veterans today living poor and unusefull life. Not all, but there are enough of them. So, lets make pease, no war! Greetings from Belarus!
What really got me tearing up is when the solder who got shot (black one) and then his squad member who saved his life by dressing his wound and put him into the truck.... then years later when the guy who saved his life was homeless and the guy who got shot in the leg had a job and saw the guy that saved his life......he helped him in return.... so touching.
I served in the Army, ended up in a divorce, and spent 5 years homeless until I managed to get up and make shit happen for myself because no one else would. I loved my country, but my country didn’t love me. So when I could afford to get out of the US, I did just that. Life outside of America has been the biggest blessing I e ever been given by God. I also have an amazing wife who loves me who is here with me to rebuild my life properly.
@armyxveteran It’s a really messed up thing. The U.S. government has all these resources to “help” everyone else in the world EXCEPT for those of us who defended the nation. Iraq was a shitshow. Afghanistan was worse, especially when your current sitting “president” abandoned our brothers in Kabul like that. I may not be an American anymore, but I will always have a place in my heart for my brothers who served before me, with me, and after me. The warriors of America are the only Americans I care about anymore, and several of my brothers back in the states know that if they’re ever in a bind and can’t make ends meet, all they have to do is hit me up and I’ll send them whatever I can afford to so they can keep a roof over their head, their lights on, and food on their table.
@@darkstarmobileI didn't serve but am thankful for those that did including you and several cousins and friends. The US government hasn't taken care of any vet since Korea like they should have. I am happy that you are back on your feet but sad you had to move out of the country to find it. God bless and happy life moving forward.
Yeah I know you joined something and have regret you became part of a problem that people don't comprehend nobody FORCED you to enlist i'm glad you had the brains to realize what a load of horseshit it all is.
4:14 I'm not great at lip reading, but, "Dale?" "You know me!" "You saved my life, brother!" "You'll be okay..." The words not spoken were the ones that hit hardest.
Suomalaane i’m not trying to sound mean to you I want to tell you a thing the US treats alot of veterans like a animal if the animal can’t be handeld then kill it don’t help it just ignore it I wish the US can get it’s brain cells together and treat their vets like gods and all countries should do that too so you respecting US to 100% maby you shouldn’t I mean it’s up to you but I wish vets are treated like gods because they are trying to eliminate the absolute mentally retarded people such as IS and many more criminal army organizasions that thinks killing and such is good so vets deserve so much more
I'm at pains to point this out but I think he says 'You know me', not 'Look at me'. Still a fucking amazing song, I'm not American, nor have I served, and this still hits me hard
+Miguel Amado I watched this video twice a day for a week straight when I first saw it. I watch it every now and then just because it's such a powerful video, and I love all of our troops. I'm an army brat and have been for my entire life. This video either gives me chills or brings me to tears every time.
+Ian Vanderpool real life .. Hits hard .. For sure ... Just know choices were made .. They made there's.. And we made ares ... Unfortunately we not fighting as hard enough as they did for us .. .... It's are fault ... Middleman
I'm a soldier always and forever. God save my brothers. "Arms wide open, I stand alone. I'm no hero, and I'm not made of stone. Right or wrong, I can hardly tell. I'm on the wrong side of heaven, and the righteous side of hell" Thank you guys.
This Friday Oct 4th will be the 6th anniversary of the day a soldier gave his life for mine and my brothers. This song let's me think of him and the other brothers I've lost along the way. I'll never forget you Slape. I'll never forget any of them.
I spoke to God today and she said that she's ashamed What have I become. yeah me also i cracked a little bit when the black man that was a soldier came up to the white homeless soldier and gave him a cloth to wipe the tears from his eyes so sad
That ending where the one guy remembers the one who saved his life and the guy broke down crying when he realized who was helping him always makes me cry
Sir, I want to thank you for the videos and your support of our troops. I happened across your videos on RUclips and I am very impressed with your range and talent. I am a retired service member who served 23 years. In that time I severed two combat tours in Iraq (2003 and 2005) with the 101st and the Panama invasion in 1989 (2-27IN Wolfhounds - 7ID). Watching your Bad Company and Wrong Side of Heaven videos brought back so many memories and brought up so many feelings. I am fortunate that I never had to fire my weapon, but I know of people who died during each of my times deployed and I think of them every Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day. Please continue to support our troops. Best regards and thank you. CW4(R) Michael G.
Recently i was driving home and saw this veteran seemed like he just got back ( His eyes were almost glazed over with pain ) for the past couple days I've sat beside him and talked and listened to his story. If you ever see a veteran on the streets let them know you will listen, most want someone to talk and converse with. O7 to any and all veterans and lost brothers in arms.
7711sammy If what you say is true, I salute you sir. As a patriotic beer drinking, gun owning, U.S of A loving American I WANT to see our troops taken care of.
thanks sir for serving in our country. If you are telling the truth i respect you and anyone else that has fought in a war and understand that ppl go crazy of what they see. Even tho my grandpa didn't go crazy i still respect him bc he fought in veitnam war. Thanks to everyone that fought for our country.
@h Jennings Got ya back Bro XX I am still alive . lol a sure 7.62 round slr is kinda accurate through brick walls . Bless you all and love you . That rifle has my name and number thank you sir . .
Never stopped. Alto it doesnt directly ring the bell with me, became quite emotional piece that reminds me what i am fighting for. And that includes veterans too.
This song has one of the most powerful messages I've ever seen or heard.
Yes!!!!! And it is a shame..... KAG 2020 www.walkawaycampaign.com/

17 years active duty, 4 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. This song and video hits so freaking hard. I love this band so much for bringing awareness to the terrible and ignored issue with Veterans.
My cousin did 2 tours in Iraq and is still suffering from ptsd, I’m glad they bring awareness
Why did they fight in Afghanistan and Iraq? Why are they killing Muslims?😪😪😪
@@turanramazanzade2045 why are they killing anybody? Soldiers are murderous assholes!

This made me cry. I recently lost my father, a Vietnam Veteran. He was a good man who quietly struggled with PTSD all his life. Uncles, cousins, nephews - all veterans. All struggling. Most making it, some not. Pray for them all. God bless them.
No, he doesn`t. What have your father done? Attacked poor Vietnamese residents? Tyrant!
@@ttemik mate don't even
Sorry for your loss. My grandfather was a WWII veteran. My dad is a Vietnam veteran and my uncle who passed away was also a Vietnam veteran. I'm a veteran of the Afghanistan and Iraq war. PTSD is very real with no real help for it.
@@ttemik Don't blame the soldiers, they fought for what they thought was right. Blame the people who sent them there in the first place.
Держись дружище. Привет из Украины 🇺🇦
Stay strong. Stay active. Keep on keeping on.. You still matter in this world, you still have so much to give. And the world is better for it.

Five Finger Death Punch puts a message out there that's actually good. This video has raised awareness for veterans, and these are one of the few artists I know who have sung for a good cause. This video brought me to tears. Great job guys❤️
Shakila Blane I totally agree
Shakila Blane I agree with you.
Sev-Zero I'm not from the USA either. Good to know you're helping :) x
Thank you for your service. Because of your sacrifice I am safe.
You're a great man,sir.
they were in the same squad too if you payed enough attention. An ANY veteran out there thank you for all the hard work and all the sacrifices you had to make to keep this country safe.
Yeah, I already knew they were battle buddies from the same squad.
I'm so very sorry for your loss 😢
I feel your pain cuz I've lost friends the same way. My father was a a vet and his ptsd from Vietnam turned him into an abusive sadistic human being. He finally got a handle on it a few years before his death
I am so sorry for your loss! 🙏🙏🙏
my condolences

As a graduate of Boonville, an OEF vet, someone whos struggled with homelessness and near homelessness, being hospitalized multiple times for service connected mental health issues. I've got nothing but respect for all of you and the message you bring. Keep fighting the good fight.
Boonville Indiana?
@SalemElloit good old Boonvegas. Go pioneers!
@Bob-g8i2v hell yeah! After graduation, I went into the Army myself. Was actually just there for a veterans day program for my niece.
@SalemElloit it's a good place to raise a family. Quiet, and peaceful. Most of my family has moved away to surrounding areas, but I still think of it as home no matter where I go.
@Bob-g8i2v I hear ya. I personally wish there was more to do there than there is.😂
As someone who served, this song makes me choke up and get teary eyed every time I watch it.
Same here Bro. Thank's for your service.
ty for your service
You are not the only one that gets choked up. This my first time watching this video. I've replied to 5 people already and I'm still crying
Happy because there are men and women willing to do the unthinkable for our country
You have my utmost apologies and a big thanks for your service
i never served, but your words discribe exactly what i feel every time i watch this. No matter how many time i watch it, always get the same feelings.
I should have served but did not unfortunately but thank you for your service!!
I feel every word
This is one easy way I've lost hope in our people
Joining the armed forces of america was the worst decision ive ever made. If you are watching this and you are thinking of this path, please reconsider.
God bless? Every war its bc of your god.
I agree
yes.
so is life, and the black vets name is Jacoby.
+Hans Abrams i believe the reason they are crying is because he is getting support and help.
+Hans Abrams And it's a fucking music video to, don't think many whould get any justice at all.
This was ten year's ago, the number is staggering high today. Bless them all...
Yet I think I saw on Facebook a few months ago or last year a veteran said, unlike what Trump claims, Veterans haven’t had it any better (support wise for any of the problems listed in the video: homelessness, PTSD, etc.) then the past few years.
"You know me. You saved my life brother"
Every time.
It’s raw, it’s powerful. Watching an old bond like that being rekindled in such a moment.
Thank him.
Random Weekend Project aw man he almost made retirement.
Dang, that made me tear up. I don't even know your grandpa, but he just got a lot of respect from me.
Bragg's Badasses. That one unit that could and would take on any nation on Earth, and win.
Give him some LSD.... google it
As a veteran who served many a year, and a few boat trips to the gulf, this song brought tears to my eyes. Thank you 5FDP, for caring. It means a lot.

You have my utmost respect sir.
Thank you for fighting for my freedom
+Chapterhouse86 Thank You for your service!
+Chapterhouse86 Thank you for your service and dedication to protecting and defending our country.
❤
That brought tears to my eyes. I am a Vietnam vet and was homeless and living out of my car. I met a man who owned a Chinese restaurant that fed me and encouraged me. Priceless. I am so grateful for my life, now.
There is people out there like me that believe you are a hero to so many. You're struggles are worth everything to so many. Love you brother!!
Liar
You are a hero man. How you guys were treated when you returned home was disgraceful. It is understandable how your health could easily deteriorate after being called baby killers etc. You're a patriot and I love all the Vietnam vets. Real bad asses. Thank you for your service.
My Brother, there are still people that love you and appreciate you and so many, many others answering the call for Our Great Country and for ever single one of all of us. You all are HEROES!!!!
Me too brother. Me too! Vietnam Era Veteran and not one iotta ashamed to say so.
wow, i cried! this is a message that everyone needs to see!!!!

Excuse me!!!
You and your friend give me hope in humanity.
God bless you for your simple act of kindness, we need more like you.
damn that's a sad story man
That's a very touching story. It's always nice hearing a story of someone actually being nice to the less fortunate. Sorry for your loss.
I'm sorry many, prayers out to you
My prayers are with you, thank your dad for the efforts and sacrifices he made serving.
The "You saved my life, brother" gives me chills and never fails to make me sob
Kontra, NVa,,,,
I cry every time that part comes up
I love when he says "u know me"
"You saved my life brother", and then "you're going to be OK". Roll back in the video... both men say the same words to each other at different times. Also, operater grabs Jacoby by the lbv and moves him. Jacoby grabs operator in the same way and rescues him!
Your brother is a hero. Always in my ❤
I'm a Desert Storm combat vet, sitting here crying at a Five Finger Death Punch video, awed at this splendid tribute to all of us who served.

As a vet, this video gets me in my feelings every time I see it. I have to watch it every time it's a suggested video. I can't just pass it.
I come back to this MV every Veterans and Memorial day.
I still cry every time I watch it.
Whether you love the band or not, this is one of the most important rock songs of all time.
Thank you FFDP and thank you to all Veterans out there

Words often not spoken are not remembered. Godspeed.
Anyone who has served knows race is NEVER an issue!
"LOOK AT ME!
...you saved my life brother"
I could watch that a hundred times and it'd still make me cry.
Amen
The whole song is sad but most can agree that that was the saddest part.
ditto here brother
Me to
Such a powerful part it was perfect!!
@@skaels Thank you for yours as well brother
I’m so sorry for your loss 😞
Sorry to hear about that. I was Desert Shield/Storm and came home broken too, spent a lot of time homeless, hopefully you can resolve this in your life. It wasn't your fault.
God bless you people have no idea
You lost your hero and best friend in bravery you caring his life with in with thoughts and prayers for all of you,
Thank you 🙏
Prayers to you and yours.
ALSO NEVER JUDGED ANYONE BY THEY LOOKS CUZ GOD DON'T LIKE UGLY WE ARE OUR BROTHERS KEEPERS IN MORE THAN ONE WAY .
we lose more brothers here at home than we ever did in battle. they wont do it while deployed, because they would be letting everyone relying on them down. so they come home and even if they are not shunned or discarded, they are still alone with their thoughts, and the knowledge that nobody is depending on them in a life and death situation. makes it easier for them to choose that escape.

tear up every time
As a Navy vet, I took this video with great joy, and sorrow. Joy that groups such as FFDP would put it out like that. And sorrow that idiotic networks like MTV and the news group by NOT showing this to the masses and youth and showing them the plight of what is going on with the Vets of today that need help!

I'm no hero, and I'm not made of stone
Right or wrong, I can hardly tell
I'm on the wrong side of heaven, and the righteous side of hell
I'm on the wrong side of heaven, and the righteous side, righteous side of hell

I can’t remember how many times I’ve cried to this song. This goes to show that nobody knows what veterans went through until we experience it ourselves. To all the veterans out there, I hope you stay strong and live a blessed life❤️

@@teresabadecka7030 there is no story to the song. Only Veterans
I feel you, I remember listening to this song years ago and I still get teared up.
"You know me, brother" I cry every single time. How can we be thrown to the side so easily? I don't understand it. Love and support to all my brothers and sisters in arms.
It's actually "you know me, you saved my life brother"

I think of my Uncle Buzz, who my family lost 1.5 years ago.
He was Army in Vietnam.
He died due to Agent Orange cancer the second time around.
He was an architect and designed the wooden docks and walkways around the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
If you visit, think of George "Buzzy" Manning.
This took on a whole new meaning this month. Everything we fought and died for in AFG wiped away in 11 days.
Yup
You fought and died for nothing, congratulations on another lost war thousands of km away from home.
Not only your veterans are forgotten... The USSR second world war veterans, Afganistan soldiers, Chechnya's war veterans today living poor and unusefull life. Not all, but there are enough of them. So, lets make pease, no war! Greetings from Belarus!
That was not in vain, Lori.

***** What got me tearing Were the lyrics just listen closely
***** yeah thats touchy in the hearth , but not the war soldier part. ya know war is always making people into 2 different opinions
***** Yeah the part was depressing.
kyle droftihw Not at all depressing. Inspiring is the word that comes to mind.
Wow your inspired that soldiers are homeless
I served in the Army, ended up in a divorce, and spent 5 years homeless until I managed to get up and make shit happen for myself because no one else would. I loved my country, but my country didn’t love me. So when I could afford to get out of the US, I did just that. Life outside of America has been the biggest blessing I e ever been given by God. I also have an amazing wife who loves me who is here with me to rebuild my life properly.
Sad to hear that the country you sacrificed so much for just abandoned you. Hope your life will be good from now on!
I'm just thankful for you

Suomalaane i’m not trying to sound mean to you I want to tell you a thing the US treats alot of veterans like a animal if the animal can’t be handeld then kill it don’t help it just ignore it I wish the US can get it’s brain cells together and treat their vets like gods and all countries should do that too so you respecting US to 100% maby you shouldn’t I mean it’s up to you but I wish vets are treated like gods because they are trying to eliminate the absolute mentally retarded people such as IS and many more criminal army organizasions that thinks killing and such is good so vets deserve so much more

Sir,
I want to thank you for the videos and your support of our troops.
