Sweet piston, I own the same pistol in both series 70 and a series 80 from 1985. Both shoot well and have been 100 reliable with proper maintaining , although the series 70 guns I own are my favorites.
Nice Colt my brother, bought a Colt competition series this year myself. Haven’t made a video since 2019. We lost our shooting range and never get to shoot anymore.
@@glockerbob no worries bro. Congratulations on the Colt purchase. I hope you like it. I still do like mine. I bought a Bersa tpr 9 earlier this year and have not had a chance to shoot it yet. That’s life sometimes there are more important things in life family personal growth career etc.
I’ve only shot mine once. Maybe less than 50 rounds. One of my favorite pistols! Ammo has become so damn expensive I’ve picked up shooting pellet guns.
Thank you for watching. Waiting for my ammo to arrive - Fedex seems to have not traced my package. I bought from Ammo Shop Online. I wonder if I had made a mistake. Needed 380 and 45 ACP Ammo. I promised myself to not run out ever again. I still have 45 ammo but I am completely out of 380 for a pistol that my wife and I inherited years ago. It belonged to my father in law who passed away.
I’m not sure you should be having ammo delivered since that shit is too dangerous and valuable. They should have some 380 at ace hardware. Also great story on inheriting the 380 handgun. Love to hear about classics getting passed down by generation
@@Kikinahm Thank you for watching. I want a lever action 357 magnum rifle next. Lever action that shoots both 357 magnum and 38 specials will go well with the lonely Stainless Rossi 38 special revolver my wife and I inherited years ago. Rossi makes a nice 357 magnum stainless lever action that is sold out everywhere. I'm also in between jobs so will probably wait out for a little bit. Thank you again.
You made a good choice buying a COLT brand. They are collectable and have good resale value ! Safety on the COLT 1911 pistol needs to be stiff so it stays safe and doesn't go in the fire mode when you carry it with a .45 round in the barrel while carrying it in a coat pocket, etc.
Thank you! I love this 1911. Given the chance to buy only one I went with the one that is most respected and most recognized. At the time I was not aware that CZ was finalizing the acquisition of Colt. It’s a shame that Colt is no longer an American company. I’d like to think that my 1911 is one of the last batches made when Colt was still American owned/made.
You should push in the magazine release when inserting a magazine. That way you don’t make mark on the magazine. In non-emergency situations. That’s how I insert the magazines in my Colt 1911 Government Models that I own. That’s how I treat my Colt 1911’s
Yes it’s respectful that way. Whenever I’m making a big purchase I have to consult with my life partner to make sure she’s ok with it. I’m lucky to be married to somebody who allows me to pursue my hobbies.
@@aztec4746 for the price you paid the same gun store nagels guns here in San Antonio they currently have a full size Colt Competition. I still would prefer the traditional classic for the aesthetics. Great gun!
@Bertram Rogers made it over 15 years together so far. If that works for you good for you. I did purchase a Walther ppks in stealth and let her know about it after. Of course the Walther was not as pricey as this Colt 1911.
@@user-jk1yh7vg9y yes I’m happy that my wife lets me pursue this very expensive firearms hobby. I actually purchased 4 more pistols after this 1911. 2 22s and 2 9mms. Thank you for watching and for the kind comment.

Nice pistol. I'm going to pick one up for myself sometime in the next few months. If it's not a Colt, it's a copy. But I've got some copies too!😮

good choice...
Thank you. I’ve shot it already and no fails. I need to be better with my pistol marksmanship. It’s a keeper!

It’s a gun… Shoot the shit out of it and enjoy it. Treat it with respect, sure, but use the damn thing as it’s intended to be. As a weapon.
If the mag has deep streaks means the release needs adjustment and if it's hard to insert with no stock mags!! Eventually it will wear in!!
Took almost 2 minutes to actually see the gun…
I had to stop even before that!!
It's gratification postponement. It's a discipline, not unlike trigger control. Lol.
