  • The Sony ZV-E1 is a very capable full frame camera but if you are use to the amount of room and customization on your current cameras, this may not be for you on top of the continuous overheating issue. I do not like cameras with restrictions and there is a lot of restriction with this camera nobody is talking about !

      @@JeremyBotz by the fact that he’s sending it back, that means he doesn’t need it. That’s what I gathered after watching the video. The ZV-E1 doesn’t suit his needs and he’s happy with his other Sony cameras, therefore he sent the ZV-E1 back. It’s just that simple. No disrespect intended, that’s simply my interpretation of the video. Hope that clears things up for you.

      @@QLFProductions Thanks. It doesnt mean that i didnt need it. I can out and buy any camera if it works and fits the need that i need it to fit without restriction. What you shouldve gathered from the video is that the ZV-E1 is a good camera, however i dont like being restricted when i shoot in 4k60 and 4k120. Because other people says it overheats means nothing. I need to get it and try it for myself and for what I NEED it to do, it overheated and thats why im taking it back . It was certainly no secret that the ZV-E1 would overheat in 4K 60 if used for long form content. It was never marketed or intended for that. There are probably hundreds of videos that highlight the overheating issues when shooting in 4K 60. Sounds like you need a second a7Siii. The ZV-E1 definitely has it's use cases, and for those use cases, it's perfect. It's like buying a car that's meant for drag racing and then saying that it's not a good track car.

      True and I was thinking of picking up another A7SIII but i think im gonna wait for the FX3II or A7SIV. But making a full frame camera in 2023 that has the same sensor as the A7SIII and FX3 not having the ability to shoot in long form content in fear of overheating is crazy.

    So it seems to that most of the "rant" portion of this video could have been resolved before the purchase w/ just research (i/e card slots, buttons and custom buttons, etc). The menu issues aren't "real" for your use-case since you said you'd basically set it up in-studio and once setup, would really only be powered on and powered off. The only "real" issue I see here is overheating - that's a REAL problem if yours has that issue. We've seen plenty of folks who don't see this issue with their copy (even w/ 4K60)... but if you can fry eggs on it I would send it back too my guy!! LOL. There's tricks and threads all over on how to keep it cool - but the REAL fact is that people shouldn't have to do that w/ a brand new camera - PERIOD. I'd send it back as well. Knowing me - I'd "trade" it in on a different body and give Sony another shot since, like you, I got a camera room full of Sony gear and my Sony gear NEVER misfires. LOL. (plus watching the Undone video on the overheating issues was entertaining). But if they misfired on the 2nd body then they're wasting my time and I'm out. Always a pleasure checking out your content w/ a tasty beverage. Stay up homey!

      True stuff and yes I played with the ZVE1 plenty of times. In store and friends so I was very familiar with its setup. And for the people who claim they shoot in 4k60, I can bet eveything I have that they are not shooting for more then 40 mins even if they without over heating and the fact that this is an issue with a new camera not something that’s old is crazy . Bradon is going in. I understand you perfectly, I own the A7siii, A7IV, A7RV, an A9.
    I wanted the newer similar menus, so I didn't have to think after the initial setup. It is as you said Brandon, grap and go to meet your work flow.
    My A9 is my odd man out, but I love it, especially for sports and event photography, especially weddings.
    As you said each of my cameras have a reason behind them and my A7RV, I paid nothing out of pocket for as I had another A9, A7RIII and a few lenses that I wasn't using, so it was an equal trade in, no money exchanged and the A7RV had 150 shutter clicks and mint, not even set up properly or registered through Sony.
    I understand you, we still use Blackmagic at larger events when we have camera ops and a switcher.
    Everything should have a purpose, and almost everyone on our team is both a photographer and videographer and live streamer, except two people, who are one or the other.
    So I can feel your pain. My business partner owns the Fx3, A7III, Fx30, and Blackmagic.

    Gotta respect your opinion but I honestly love my ZV-E1. I didn’t get it expecting it to be an FX3 or an a7s3. I like it’s form factor and quick ease of use menus. I’ve heard a lot of ppl complain about overheating and I’ve never had any of those issues. I’ve had it recording in my studio for two straight hours and it never overheated. I purchased a cheap Ulanzi fan just so I can shoot at 4k120 for intentional slow motion and 4k60 for regular recording that has exceeded an hour without getting hot. I live in hot southern Louisiana, where summer hits 100+ degrees before noon and overheating has still never been an issue. I also have other cameras that I would use for serious situations if redundancy was a necessity.

    • @BrandonColePhotography
      @BrandonColePhotography  2 месяца назад +1

      I can understand that but for a camera produced in 2024 that doesnt even have the amount of bells and whistles other cameras have. The fact that it does over heat and you have to buy a fan for it, is exactly why i made the video in the first place. None of my cameras overheat or even come close and i use them all for hours. I dont want a camera especially full frame that I have to fear over heats and thats why im taking it back. It has an overheating issue.

    • @visionz_n_media
      @visionz_n_media 2 месяца назад

      @@BrandonColePhotography I understand your perspective for what you need from the camera. There are a handful of cameras that have been made in 2023 til now that suffers from overheating. That’s one of the trade offs of having a smaller body and no active cooling. I actually shoot all the brands on a regular basis and get a chance to see that it’s not just a Sony ZV-E1 issue. I purchased the cooling fan as a safeguard but have never experienced any overheating issues personally 🤷🏽‍♂️. I’m not trying to sway your opinion, just giving a different perspective to viewers that may not have the budget to purchase an a1, a7r5, a7s3, and a74. The ZV-E1 is a run and gun camera that was never intended for the strains of higher production demands. But it’s a great option for those looking for ease of use, similar to a cellphone in a lightweight and compact design. Appreciate your content as always bro ✊🏽

    I know I'm a little late to the party but I understand. Why would Sony market a camera that can do something and then as issues doing it. There's no other camera manufacturer out there besides sony that will put out a camera knowing that it has overheating problems. The a6300 had that same issue when released. $2000 plus isn't the cheapest camera for something that will over heat. and I know some people will say it's for content creation but what if you want to be a streamer or podcaster that's something you really can't even do. That technically falls into content creation. I own nothing but Sony cameras but sometimes I feel like some of their cameras are prototypes but they sell them anyway because they know people will buy them. I'm not hating on whoever bought this camera if it suits your needs by all means that's good but I do hope they can probably fix with updates.

      I hear you but I honestly dont see why that should be an issue for a camera made in 2023. A lot of RUclipsrs use the ZV E1 as a "content creators" camera now. But again the majority shoot on 4k24. I dont feel that just because I like shooting at 4k60, thats not the camera you should use. Thats a restriction for a late model camera that should not be. You cant tell me just because the camera cant handle 4k60 for 1 hour means it's the wrong camera. No camera I own over heats. Not one. and you talking to a sony pro. I know these cameras like I built them myself. But I just think it's flawed.
