When it comes to electronics, it makes sense to get the least expensive tool that meets your needs. In a year or two, the new models come out and have the features you previously had to overpay for.

The FX3 is the better option for professional cinematographers. The ZVE1 is geared more towards RUclipsrs and amateurs that want to save a bit of money and want that "cinema" look and great low light performance but dont necessarily need all the pro options and features of a cinema camera. As somone else said, buy the cheapest gear that will give you the results that you want. For the price of the FX3 you can buy the ZVE1, a couple of good lenses, an external monitor, camera cage and an external cooling fan.

One question: Is it possible to shoot at all modes with active stabilisation on? For example FullHD 120fps? Thanks for your answer!
If you only had one camera to choose for shooting your RUclips videos between the a7iv .. zve1 and fx30… which would you choose LV
I made this choice in May. I sold my zv e10 and choose FX30. But I wanna zve1 like camera for time to time shooting amazing videos.😊
I’m thinking that what I need/want is to keep my zve1, buy the a7c II and sell my a7siii. I don’t do pro work, just personal projects and RUclips videos. I will dearly miss my siii but this arrangement seems to make sense without having 3 camera bodies which is overkill for me.

USB-C speed is a bummer for FX3 ... I mean is it gonna be fixed with a firmware update or something ?

For me, the FX3 is the clear winner among the two cameras. I've had numerous cameras overheat on me during livestreams and had to downsize my recording to 1080 to prevent this. It does no good to have a 4K camera if you cannot use those features. The FX3 has a built in fan which is HUGE! It has a full sized HDMI port and two card slots. I record to two CFExpress Type A cards which are excellent. Thanks for the video, Terry.
If I have the budget, I'll definitely on FX3... But who doesn't and want the sensor... E1 it's great, just manage your overheat, use well your resources (4k60 and 4k120) and u will go well
if you just live streaming why not save money and use a fx30?
Often I have no control over the environment and the room temperature could be higher than preferred. The A74 was a notorious overheater. The FX3 or FX30 are better choices because of the built in fan.

@@RalphMartinez007 Sorry for the slow response. You're going to need other gear besides the FX3. Start by with a high quality HDMI cable. You're going to need a good computer. We obtained a gaming desktop and it's lightning fast. We also use Google Chrome as our web browser. It seems to work the best. Pay attention to your audio. IF the audio is poor, people won't watch. I use Rode Wireless Go's, DJI Mics and a pair of Shure 7M7B's. I obtained all this gear over a period of time. I would also have a second camera. It doesn't have to be another FX3. I have a Sony ZV-E1. And we have a Sony A6400. The bad part of those two cameras they only have micro HDMI. Having backup gear is crucial. A lot of cables are cheap, made in China and they can stop working when you least expect it. There is a steep learning curve, because there a lot of things that can go wrong, like the Internet can go down during a stream or a battery can poop out. I use a V-mount battery that never runs down. I also keep the original camera battery in place that serves as a backup. Any other questions, hit me up.

I wish i wish you would of made a short with the two cameras instead of reading specs. There is something about seeing the cameras in action that shows their strength and weakness.

I think you sold me on the ZV-E1. I wasn’t really feeling the price but I found one for $1,860 something open box so I figured I would give it a try. I’m going to take it on some day trips and some travels I have coming up to see what it’s hitting for. I’m keeping my A7SIII though.

Hallo können sie bitte meine 3 frage zu antworten wäre ich dankbar sein. 1: bei 4k 120 FPS oder FHD 240 FPS welche Stabilisator kann man aktivieren? z.b Standrede Stabilisator kann man aktivieren. 2: 120 FPS und 240 FPS Fokus Training funktionieret? 3: bei low light ist genauso wie FX3 und A7siii ?

Hello can you please answer my 3 questions I would be grateful. 1: at 4k 120 FPS or FHD 240 FPS which stabilizer can you activate? E.g. you can activate the speech stabilizer. 2: 120 FPS and 240 FPS focus training works? 3: at low light is the same as FX3 and A7siii?
I do the same, but selling my s3. Right choise, dont regret any second, the zve1 have better features cost almost the half of the s3/fx3.
I’m thinking about selling my siii, keeping my zve1 (awesome camera!, love mine) and buy the a7c II.

Nothing, I think creatives get sent them for free tbh.

What do you mean nothing? It protects the sensor when a lens isn’t mounted. It’s no different that what comes in the box except it’s metal and stylized.
@@TerryWarfield copy that, so it’s a good replacement if you misplace the one that came with the camera for instance. It does look cool.

ZV-E1 is exactly what I need but the overheating issues still leave a big question mark for travel to hotter countries... but it seems more than silly to pay 2x for a fan 😅

Very good depth reviews between 2 Sony cameras, Terry. I really like FX3 with light indicates to ensure what going on the cameras. If they have capable with intervalometer remote would be an ideally. I likes the hot shoe must be center the lenses which I would uses with flash. As well as comfortable grip of the FX3. Cinematic cameras may not the best yet. I wait for next model with an improvement. I'm thinking about getting a Sony A7IV (I prefer a dual card slots) or a6600 (maybe a6700) depends my budget go to. 📷

I'll definitely with zve1..... I use a a6500 today, even with overheat... Ill just put on 4k30 when i need to rec more than 30min or 1080p30 if more than 1hour
Things that already do today... But with a better sensor, 10bit, less noise on high ISOs, better AF, better image stabilization, better battery...
The zve1 in 4k25p dosnt overeath to me even use for 1h++ (my memory card was full be4 even heat). Dont know in what situation u use (or weather), but here in argentina dosnt heat at all.
Sony should come out with body only no top audio handle for maybe $300 less.
The FX3 is made for professionals who shoot e.g. at weddings and events. Try to imagine what would happen if you are making video's at a wedding event with the ZV-E1 and your memory card gets corrupted. Instantly not only is your shoot destroyed but also your reputation as a professional. People hired a professional because they wanted to make sure that everything would go right. The same is true for heat and direct sunlight. What if your camera stops right before "you may kiss the bride" because of overheating.
The ZV-E1 is however still a good camera for e.g. video's like this one. If something goes wrong you just record it a second time. No big deal. It is inconvenient at most. It is of course also perfect as a secondary camera. Especially when you have the FX3 or FX6 as your main camera since it still has the same sensor. And it is of course perfect for hobby and fun.
At this point I am however holding my money in my pocket and hope that the successor of the FX3 will come within a year. The FX3 is already 2 years old and I don't want to buy a new camera that might get a follow up within a year. If I then still want that camera then they should do something with the price or I will get the latest edition when it is released.
I use an Atomos Ninja so I can just external+internal record to remedy that issue.
That's why TW mentions in all his comparison videos "I do this for me because it works in my case". He even mentioned he doesn't do professional shooting anymore that's why he's switching over to the ZVE1. I'm in the same boat. Looking to sell my A7SIII and ZV-1 Mark II and get the ZVE1.

Gotta be honest, I don't think the ZV-E1 is that good and it's over priced for the purpose. The "AI" tools are kind of novel and probaly wont get used much in practice (also note for any camera to have proper AI they would need to be hooked up to the net) The FX3 is leaps and bounds better imo, it's a more robust, more efficent camera.
Are you kidding? The new AI autofocus is the best thing since sliced bread. It's only going to get better.
@@z352kdaf8324 Sony AF is amazing. But none of their cameras have AI in. It's a marketing buzz term. According to IMATEST charts Sony also don't have 16 stops of DR either.
These cameras must be incredibly heavy, you're ripped from carrying them!
