I'm so happy that I watched to the end of the video and discovered that your favorite riff is also one of my favorite riffs. Once that riff happens, you know Blackwater Park is going to be a wild and unforgettable ride!
A close second for me on that album is the riff in A Funeral Portrait that happens from 2:00-2:30 in the song... in an album full of amazing riffs, that one in particular always without fail makes me feel something powerful and visceral.
Especially considering Nuno Bettencourt is only one of the most unbelievably talented musicians ever. They are criminally underrated, probably because everyone thinks "hair band," and they only know the song "More Than Words," which is just really not representative of the rest of their catalog.

Zr00we Vektor is amazing, one of the few post-2000 bands that get me really excited! I love also Gorod and Obscura, but they are prog death, not thrash like Vektor.
Good selection. The best underrated gems for me are Fingerprint File by The Rolling Stones, The Vigil by Blue Öyster Cult and basically every riff in The Masque by Edge of Sanity,
Paul Gilbert, Jason Becker, Nuno, Syu, Shawn Lane, Petrucci, Bumblefoot, Friedman x2, I think you hit most of the players that make me go wtf voice leading is that? Well done, sir.
Not sure if it counts as a riff, but my favorite riff is Megadeth's "bridge" segment of Rattlehead. "You, your head: is pounding with pain !" That part has such a great groove.

One brilliant and wholly underrated riff I keep coming back to is Demetori's Silent Voyage to Eternity (full name: 春の湊に ~ Silent Voyage to Eternity), the riff that accompanies the first solo section, right after the second chorus.
One of the best musical list videos I have seen on RUclips. Definitely contained a tonne of excellent riffs. The only riff I would say shouldn't be on here is Bark At The Moon, I don't know if I would say it's underrated, people do focus more on the intro I suppose but the song itself is well recognised. Definitely a brilliant riff nonetheless
Rust in Peace, Bark at the Moon, Under a Serpent Sun - let me put it that way: There are some pretty well rated riffs on that list. Great Video anyways!
if you're going for a second part, here are some suggestions: Opeth's Serenity painted death(the 3.15 part), Megadeth's Last Rites/Loved to Deth, Pantera's The art of shredding, Megadeth's My last words, Opeth's Masters Apprentices(2.23 riff), Ghost Walking by Lamb of god, Sea of Madness by Iron Maiden, Judas Be My Guide by Iron Maiden, Nevermore by Symphony X, We die young by Alice in Chains, The blister exists By Slipknot(the chorus riff), Without Judgement by Death, Bite the pain by Death, Empty Words By Death.
I have no idea why, but I just KNEW it's going to be Opeth at the top for some reason, although I can't recall you mentioning Opeth before. Blackwater Park is in my top ten records by the way. Great video, cheers!

"The Stuggle Within" - Metallica. Always thought the breakdown riff and just the song in general was underrated
Waaaay too short though.. if only they used it again as the outro for the song!

Extremely underrated, you could say
Bark At The Moon is def. not underrated. That song is highly praised for the public.
I would have included Waiting for Darkness instead of that one.
Neither Inno a Satana. I love he used Go into the water by dethklok though

Zr00we Vektor is amazing, one of the few post-2000 bands that get me really excited! I love also Gorod and Obscura, but they are prog death, not thrash like Vektor.
I think I'll check them out. Thanks for the tip
@@megabadass30 hell yeah dude
@@Rextum I've heard of them but never listened to them, I might just check them out
Awesome videos dude.
That's my favourite riff too! Such a sick song.
Nice to hear something from The Darkness. Permission to Land got me into rock and metal when I was a kid.
Where's All that Remains!? Sick riffs on their first couple albums
Six, man. Whole song SLAPPED
@@xXxThelegend27xXx Six & The weak willed 🤘
Not sure if it counts as a riff, but my favorite riff is Megadeth's "bridge" segment of Rattlehead.
"You, your head: is pounding with pain !"
That part has such a great groove.
That song is epic, man... The drumming and riffing is insane.
not a riff, it's a lick
I was expecting to be so disappointed by your favourite
I wasn't.
Opeth riffs are majestic
Awesome video Bradley! I also love Lil Jack Horny by Extreme, the bridge riff of A7X's Save Me and Down to Mexico by Paul Gilberto
Dude the fact that you had a clutch song on there made my day 🤘
“Rock Bottom” is my all-time favorite. UFO, especially with Michael Schenker, had a lot of awesome riffs.
I think the riff from "Periphery - Have a Blast" which starts at 2:57 never gets the love it deserves. :)
So happy to see Black Shuck on this list, my favourite song by The Darkness, they never get the credit they deserve
Impeccable taste man!! Always loved that riff in Betrayed by a7x, same goes for Heartwork, couldn't have picked better myself
Haha, Slipknot right after Nickelback. I wonder if that was deliberate?
I'm curious, what's the link between them?
XxMr99xX if I remember correctly they had some issues with each other since the singer of Nickelback talked badly about slipknot. Might be wrong tho
@@td601 Alot of people often try to start a fight either with them or the fans even if they don't have anything to do with it 😞 Well, yeah, I respect them for what they listen to but why attack us? I just wish it never happens...
@@sidthejovian5105 It's a commonality within metal and rock, there are a lot of elitists.. Just take a look at the riles of Megadeth VS Metallica. Not only in music but with a lot of stuff involving what we could define as "celebrities" people will blindly follow them like sheep and fight for them whenever, wherever. Don't take them seriously, and make sure to not let them waste your time. Now have a good day ^^
I love how in-tune your guitar sounds with distortion. Even with a compensated Floyd nut my Ibanez can't do that.
The opening riff to “cold” by psycroptic a sicc and one of my all time favourite electric guitar riffs, and it is definitely underrated.
You won a sub by including dream theater's most underrated riff. Spot on, as with many of the other riffs
Cirith Ungol - Join the Legion - Killer, and powerful intro riff.
Ratt - Round and Round. It's catchy, and it's harder than most of people think.
I know i'm late to the party, but OMG i waited for any Opeth riff all the video and you delivered at the end with one of my all-time favorites and it was interesting to see we both play it completely different. I fell like Opeth need a whole 50 underrated riffs video of their own
It makes me very happy to see fans of Galneryus outside of Japan :D! Syu-sama is such an amazing guitarist if you are into that style :).
Insomnium-Drawn to black has a great main riff
Loved this!! Amazing job 🤘🏻. Would love to hear Domination by Symphony X
One brilliant and wholly underrated riff I keep coming back to is Demetori's Silent Voyage to Eternity (full name: 春の湊に ~ Silent Voyage to Eternity), the riff that accompanies the first solo section, right after the second chorus.
CLOUDKICKER!!! like! in addition: best underrated rift in my humble opinion: Recipe for Hate by Clawfinger.
I couldn't believe when I saw Cloudkicker on the list
One of the best musical list videos I have seen on RUclips. Definitely contained a tonne of excellent riffs. The only riff I would say shouldn't be on here is Bark At The Moon, I don't know if I would say it's underrated, people do focus more on the intro I suppose but the song itself is well recognised. Definitely a brilliant riff nonetheless
1:08 is chorus melody from song Born of Nevermore, not the This Godless Endeavor
Why am I not seeing *Running Wild*
(The most underrated band ever)
I was not expecting to see Galneryus on this list. Considering they’re my favorite band this was indeed a pleasant surprise.
Ozzy Osbourne Bark at the Moon is not so underrated btw
Rust in Peace, Bark at the Moon, Under a Serpent Sun - let me put it that way: There are some pretty well rated riffs on that list. Great Video anyways!
honestly the main riff for still of the night is underrated, For Whose Advantage and Questions is underrated too.
I am so fucking happy that you included Postmortem in this list. The most underrated riff ever.
Amazing, Brooo.
Pd: Happy Birthday to my Dad :D
Fucking good call on that CKY riff. Always loved that one.
Amazing list my dude! Love the testament, nevermore nods... This tone is absolutely filthy btw!!!
Beyond Creation - Fundamental Process (the one at 3:27)
This is peak riff, no question about that
love the Into the Water riff
if you're going for a second part, here are some suggestions: Opeth's Serenity painted death(the 3.15 part), Megadeth's Last Rites/Loved to Deth, Pantera's The art of shredding, Megadeth's My last words, Opeth's Masters Apprentices(2.23 riff), Ghost Walking by Lamb of god, Sea of Madness by Iron Maiden, Judas Be My Guide by Iron Maiden, Nevermore by Symphony X, We die young by Alice in Chains, The blister exists By Slipknot(the chorus riff), Without Judgement by Death, Bite the pain by Death, Empty Words By Death.
8 minutes into the Last Baron, that's dope af
I have no idea why, but I just KNEW it's going to be Opeth at the top for some reason, although I can't recall you mentioning Opeth before. Blackwater Park is in my top ten records by the way. Great video, cheers!
Antisocial it's a song of the french band Trust Anthrax just make a cover of the song
ROCK FIIIIGHT!
The Nevermore one was from the song Born, if I remember correctly. This Godless Endeavor is the album and title track.
The riff from extreme - get the funk out ,,, probably one of my favourite riffs ever
Bark at the Moon.....great call.
Jake E. Lee is perennially underrated.
