    The X1 Yoga Gen 2 had OLED also. I hope this is better. My first Gen 2 went though 3 screens under warranty before Lenovo replaced the whole computer. Now the replacement computer is about to get shipped off for the exact same problem. Appears the OLED had a lot of problems and I had to wait more than a month for the replacement screen to become available. The OLED had so many problems that Lenovo offered a standard LED screen to replace my OLED. Lenovo did not offer the OLED again until this year and I notice several models have OLED options. I am guessing Lenovo was having too many problems with OLED and abandon them until now. Dell has had OLED for a few years and I have not heard of any major problems. I did just order the GEN 7 ( should arrive tomorrow ) to replace my GEN 2 while it is off for repair. OLED looks WONDERFUL but maybe not so durable. Time will tell if Lenovo fixed the problems with the OLED screens.

      4 screens and 2 motherboards for my Gen 2. The last two motherboards would not charge the battery, so I am dead in the water. Escalated to a manager, asked them to replace the machine. They are sending me a top end Gen 7 for free. I had the 5 yr next day onsite warranty. Had I not bought that, I'd be screwed.

    In the UK a top spec Gen6 can be bought with a £1250 discount. The Gen7 is £3000, only one model, OLED/1TB/16GB/i7 and that has a £750 discount. So for ultrabooks 2-in-1's very expensive even with big discounts. Not a 2-in-1 fan personally and for that amount of money I would def buy laptop and tablet combo for a no compromised solution. Also, I may save money and buy the 11th gen even without OLED as that will have better battery life and for an ultrabook, the extra CPU power in the 12th gen is not really essential for my workflow.
    The display is nice, low blue light is great and 500 nits and HDR 400, though only 60Hz. It is anti-reflective WQUXGA display over here so that is a bonus. For those that can afford it, as you say, probably the best choice with 12th gen ATM. Thanks.

      I like to put my Yoga notebook on a standing desk, fold the keyboard back and use a mechanical keyboard for optimal ergonomics. 2-in-1 notebooks changed how I use computers, I would not like to go back to normal laptop, but that's just my use case.
      A month ago or so I got a deal on a top spec gen 7 Yoga for about 2100 €, but I have no idea when they can deliver it..

      @@Martin23673 I mainly use my ultrabook as a laptop, so on the go rather than a desktop choice. I have an iMac for that as it is more powerful for hardcore work.

      @@andyH_England No one pays full price. You need to go to Lenovo website and use the contact section and speak to a sales advisor and negotiate the price with him.

  • @victorsvay3986

    Considering how power hungry the OLED screen is just curious how many hours are you getting with the battery?

  • @Abraham_Tsfaye
    @Abraham_Tsfaye Год назад +1

    I would add that by calling Lenovo Thinkpad directly and speaking to one of their sales advisers, you can negotiate a good price discount on the RRP.

      Especially because Lenovo uses the term “Yoga” completely differently outside of the USA. Inside the USA, “Yoga” always meant a 2-1 convertible, but now internationally, they are using “Yoga” instead of “IdeaPad” in some cases. Figure it out, Lenovo!

    Nice laptop but depressing the ram can't be replaced ,if it fails it's a new motherboard..From the video I'm assuming the ssd is replaceable.. Sadly it seems all manufacturers are going down that road..Thats why I won't buy a new MacBook. I do wish pc magazine reviewer's would say in their reviews if the laptop memory and storage can be upgraded.

    Hi DigitalDigest, can you do the best convertible/2in1 laptops this 2022 vis-a-vis battery, processors used, display, size, etc. Thank youu!! I have been in dilemma between Ideapad Flex 5, Yoga 7i, and Thinkpad Yoga X1 🥲

    My X1 Yoga Gen 6, on battery, has audible interference on the left speaker. It is occasionally audible on power but much more audible on battery when there is no sound. It does this on my 2 X1s. Can you check this on Gen 7? I just ordered another...

    Thanks for this video. It looks nice. I hoped they would bring back the micro-SD card slot like my older model, but no such luck. It’s probably never coming back. :(

      Not having the micro sd stinks. I have been holding on to my GEN 2 just for that reason. Only ordered this because my GEN 2 OLED screen died ... AGAIN.
