Why not the Rodecaster Duo? They just released an update adding more virtual channels. You get built-in DSP, amazing revolution pre-amps, multiple physical faders to control your mic + game audio + music + chat separately, built-in voice and sound effects, pads also double as midi controls you can use like a stream deck. The only one that comes close is the Elgato but it doesn’t have onboard DSP so it takes away from system performance and you don’t get low latency monitoring with processing applied. Beacn studio is cool but you need like 2 additional devices like the mix create if you want volume control and then a stream deck if you need the macro buttons for OBS. Roland has great sound and DSP and SFX but still no separate volume controls and no macro buttons for OBS.
Because Rode didn't send it to him for free. This channel was never about objective comparisons or information. It's just an ad for the things he gets or for the things he has frequent meetings with the owners of the product (like it was mentioned for the Roland device). Also, to ShinjiRL, I believe Harris actually owns and uses a Rodecaster Duo for his setup or has done in the past, so try to be less of a cynic, eh?
The rodecaster has a monitoring latency when using the dsp (metallic sound, even worse than the GoXlr). I would dream of a Behringer XR Stream using Xr18 DSP and routing.
@@6coups6mouches definitely not worse than the goxlr, I’ve been using the rodecaster for almost 2 years now and still have my old goxlr. No additional latency on my rocecaster than on my goxlr. The only thing I don't like about the Beacn studio is that I can't easily use it with the Stream Deck +. And I doubt they'll ever release a plugin for stream deck, because they want to sell their Mix series products, so I'm just left hoping that the hardware of Elgato's offerings improve to have that DSP.

Would you ever see the purpose in using two of the devices for a premium type setup? Or is there a more top tier audio interface you would recommend? I have all the Elgato products but might be looking to step it up a little.
I'd still like to get your takes on the Mackie DLZ Creator XS (perhaps vs the RØDECaster Duo) especially since Mackie was bought out (merged?) with Rode, and now they are selling competing/similar devices. I'm leaning abit more toward the Mackie because of the NDI and Bluetooth/call-in feature, but im worried about the future support of it now that they are under Rode.
The Roland is the only one with an AUX in. I really want that one AUX channel for recording that game console, outboard device, maybe a tablet with a sound board on it. Just one more input and maybe a separate headset and monitor out are all I want. I really want to upgrade my Yamaha AG06 but man I just want a little extra IO.
I have a multi pc setup. I like the beacon studio having two direct usb connections to each system but it doesn't appear to handle letting you have one shared set of speakers between two pc's. Hoping I just misunderstood though and it can do that.
I have the Roland Bridge Cast X and I run my Shure SM7B and my Xbox Series X and PS 5 through it and I love it I just wish it had a 3rd HDMI in port for my Nintendo Switch
the beacn mic is a usb mic which means it wont plug into the stream deck. even if it did, audio interfaces wont (i think) take software that's on the mic and send it to the pc. you plug it into the stream deck, you can only use stream deck software.
oh my bad. its late so i misread your comment. yea that would actually work. you can plug a beacn mic in the pc and plug the stream deck + into the pc. you should be able to use the nobs in conjunction with the beacn software. saw some other commenters talking about it too
I always enjoy your videos. But I've got a problem. I have the Elgato Prompter, Facecam Pro4K60fps, the Elgato Streamdeck plus and I cannot find a way to be able to read from the prompter or even access it from either Zoom or StreamYard. I have the wavelink software and the camera hub installed, but nothing helps and I cannot find any RUclips videos that tell me how to put this all together and make it work. Thanks in advance.
Can you do a setup guide for the roaln bridge cast one? I feel like nobody really has a good setup video for it and its rather complicated as you elude to here.
My Mackie Big nob studio inexplicably pooped out on me a month back and replacing it has been kinda depressing (I hate buying things twice) All 3 of these seem like interesting options. TBH I'm leaning toward the stream deck XLR as per my digital needs. I lean more towards photography/videography workspace. This will go well with my drawing tablet and loupdeck setup.
Can you do a round up of wireless mics? I hate cables but all the mics on wireless headsets seem awful. I couldn't find anything from you on this. There a bunch of options on Amazon but not sure what the hell to buy and don't want to waste money just to have worse than my headset.
Thanks for the showcase. Maybe someday in the future I'll make the step to XLR. But as i'm currently using an USB mic and my camera is USB i'm looking at the Steamdeck+ with the USB hub. This way I can connect all my streaming equipment to 1 device. And if needed in the future I can easily swap to XLR if needed.
Any way for the BEACN to take two XLR inputs? Their software is so much more advanced than the Focusrite Vocaster Two's that I would switch in a heartbeat!
I just got the elgato plus with xlr dock and shure mv7x. I feel as though I have to gain too high (causing it to pick up more background noise) to not have to have the mic right against my mouth when using it. Would you recommend using a cloud lifter?
I'm still loving my Tascam Mixcast 4 and it's recording capability along with automatic mix minus for Blue Tooth and TRRS channels rock. Just to be able to record a phone call has bailed me out more than a few times.
Me in 2024 with my Scarlett Solo 3rd gen and voicemeeter. 😅 Honestly pretty happy with it but if you have an SM7B or need voice effects, you need something better. I'll probably upgrade when 32-bit float recording becomes the standard for budget audio interfaces.
The only thing I would of liked at least from the Roland is 2 XLR ports and a much better pre amp, they should have the cleanest default hardware considering they are the only true audio company here but they seem to use another company hardware for this like the Yamaha interface using Steinbergs pre amps which are nosey as heck. I like to switch between my Podmic and NT1 without swapping out the cables.
Could you create a detailed video demonstrating how to use the Roland software with the Roland Cast One? I'm new to using an xlr setup, and I'd appreciate it if you could make some suggestions on the eq and other aspects of the system.
Where does the Focusrite Vocaster One or Two compare to the Wave Xlr for someone who games and streams, and the game they use is Cpu demanding. And I ask since the Wave Xlr if using a Noise Suppression and or EQ on the Wave Xlr, it processes on the Pc vs the Vocasters use the device for processing.
A little bit off topic, but can you please tell me if it is possible to control the audio level of the beacn mix or create with the streamdeck? I woul like to switch between three different fixed audio levels without rotating at a knob and check the value on the display. Right now I am doing this in combination with the Elgato wave software, but there are always from time tome time moments, where wavelink makes some problems and crashes. And I would love to buy a beacn if I can solve that problem in that way. But I would like to have the functionality to switch between different pre defined volume levels. Thanks a lot
Harris have you done a video on the top 3 mixers for dual PC setup with the streaming PC controlling everything so that the gaming PC isn't processing anything so that we get more FPS❓️
If you know audio processing already the Roland is already there. But it's of course something mainly aim at people that just want to jump in and do it easily. So they should work on this, shouldn't be that hard for them as they have everything to pull from already that can do this. They could easily out do the Beacn with the DSP and software for the DSP. They can't up grade the hardware so the headphone amp might no be beat or maybe the mic gain, but they could up their game on this later on with a new release... giving a proper headphone amp is very slept on in audio interfaces in general
What about the dac amp quality of the 3 devices? I use high end iems which can be sensitive. Which one of these would give me the best audio / listening experience for my games and music?
wouldn't it work using, the beacn, with a stream deck ? Let's imagine we have a stream deck already. There's plugins that can change the value of output of a soft. Its not dial but it does the job, wouldn't that work ? i don't know tbf
Lewitt Connect 6, try it. Awesome product for an awesome price. And dual USB-C connection actually works :D Also, two mic inputs and two headphones outputs. Powerful software too.
Hey Senpai, you did mention the Stream Deck XLR variant from Elgato but what about the Wave XLR against the Roland Bridge Cast One? The Elgato Wave XLR is even 10 euros cheaper (atleast here in germany). You also mentioned that the software from Elgato is years ahead of the Roland Bridge Cast One. Maybe you could test them against each other? That would be interesting :D
So if I want something that can plug into both my PC and PS5 and use my headphones and mic on both… would the BEACN work for that? It doesn’t seem the other two would
I own the Rolan bridge cast the big brother to the one, and i love the mixer but i agree the software is lack luster, i do look forward to improvements as they release them.
i already have a stream deck+, i just need an audio interface for my xlr mic (shure mv7+) and i was looking at the beacn studio for this... can I have that? because this video says it's one or the other... can't I have both? can't I control the mixes from beacn studio on the stream deck+? i'm currently using my mic via usb since it also has usb output, but I want to eventually upgrade to xlr + audio interface to reduce processing from my PC...
I'm gaming on console. Is there a way to get the game audio through one of these? I'm using a capture card for recording and streaming (Hauppauge HD PVR 2)
So I currently have a WaveXLR, and use the WaveLink software. I do hear all the EQ, Compression, Filters, etc in my ears. You're saying I won't be able to if I upgrade to the new StreamDeckXLR?
Okay is it just me? Listening to the first samples during the ad read - the beacn has a very high end noise that sounds over processed. The clip is too short but I swear there is something there that sounds bad at the highs.
I have Beacn Mix Create + Stream Deck XXL and that combo solves all my problems with audio and streaming. Amazing equipment. But I still have a problem with Sony a6700, even after Your last video with a setup. It is lagging so much 😭
All of my GoXLR devices (Broadcasting Teacher at a High School 20-25 GoXLR's) died. They simply do not power up or connect to the computer. I have been waiting for a decent device that is easy to use, like the GoXLR, and does exactly what it should. My WavXLR crashes ALL of the time. This forces retarts or complete shut downs of my computer to get it working again.... FRUSTRATION!!! I will check out the Beacn and the Roland. I am pretty much done with the Wav. As always Thank you for your content!!!
Do you think using the Stream Deck+ for mixing everything but your mic in pair with the BEACN Studio would be effective or redundant? I love the ease of being able to adjust my volume of my game, voice chat, music, etc. with the Stream Deck+ but I am looking into getting the BEACN Studio due to the hardware processing and ability to run audio from 2 devices.
As a newby that knows nothing about podcasting and video editing, what would you start with to learn? I was looking at rodecaster, then the tascam mixcaster 6 , now I’ve seen this lol. Help
As someone who podcasted on Twitch for over 6 years, I can tell you with great confidence that the only thing you need to start is either a) Discord or b) an analog mixer with multiple inputs and some microphones. All of the things that make some of these newer digital mixers and "Smart" audio devices awesome aren't necessary. A rodecaster is a massive investment for a first device. Check out the Elgato Wave line of hardware, Beacn stuff, some of the smaller Rode devices, and more. - Nick
I would love to see how the bridge cast one performes on a console only. no one is doing this kind of videos although there are tons of consoleros waiting for it
i'll be completely honest. in the 5 years ive owned my goxlr, i've never moved the faders once after setting it up. my rodecaster duo is exactly the same. faders just stay right where they are. SUB MIXES is the real champ. and if i didn't have the rodecaster, i'd grab the beacn studio. i love being able to apply compression and gates to discord (teammates!) and every other channel individually, so rodecaster wins. game changer.
Someone tell elgato to build a XLR interface with the processing done on it. Particularly the one that connects to stream deck + and tell beacn to make an all in one
Love your videos man! Just a little "critique", you cover the software and the hardware but an I think it becomes more and more essential to cover OS compatibility. I'm a user of Beacn because of one of your past review on it, unfortunately they never released their software for any linux distro which limits what I can do with it. Still a great piece of hardware when im on windows tho!
But do any of the other competitors have Linux compability. I don't think either Elgato or Roland have that either. I know they have MacOS compability though, and since that is a UNIX based system, as Linux, you might could use Wine for the apps, but I don't think the quality would be good.
The beacon looks pretty good for all the things it does and the Elgato tempts me because I STILL don't have a stream deck... but the Rpland whispers to my cheap and unsure self as my first real audio device for myself.
when you test audio interfaces you often mention processing on device vs processing on the PC. does that really matter that much for performance? yes, some people have crazy audio setups with multiple inputs, effects and other stuff. but the remaining 99% of streamers? sure it puts some extra load on the CPU, but with how powerful PCs are these days, some EQ and compressor are probably barely noticeable. is there are way to measure that?
I play competive fps with insane expensive iems that are connected to a 1000$ amp and dac combo. I am sorry I am not gonna plug my iems in a streaming mixer. I am Looking for a dual pc mixer with a optical in( coming from my 1000$ dac optical out ) and a dual usb output. The gaming pc will use the secondary usb output for a mic. Important note the gaming pc must use the mic without extra software. The secondary usb output will give the same mic quality ingame as on stream. This is something the GOXLR lacks cause it has a 3.5 line out only. You hear a big difference if you plug that in the line in of your motherboards soundcard. I use a rodecaster pro 2 now. It has all the options except the optical in. I now use two 3.5 mm in two xlr inputs coming from my dac second output and balance it for my gamingsound in my stream. Audio in stream is not optimal that way. Note i am not using stereomix on my gamingpc cause it creates latency. I Hope Beacn can make a ultimate dualpc streaming device.
Does the RUclips algorithm just hate your Channel? Your videos are so good and you have a great subscriber count, but the views are so low for how good the content is.
Yeah, plug mic into beacn, setup up your audio, have a stream deck plus, set mic source in wave link to beacn, enjoy the processed sound of beacn with the knobs of stream deck. It’s what Harris does with beacn mic. He plugs into a wave xlr but does his audio setup in beacn software.

I have a multi pc setup. I like the beacon studio having two direct usb connections to each system but it doesn't appear to handle letting you have one shared set of speakers between two pc's. Hoping I just misunderstood though and it can do that.
I have the Roland Bridge Cast X and I run my Shure SM7B and my Xbox Series X and PS 5 through it and I love it I just wish it had a 3rd HDMI in port for my Nintendo Switch
hmm i`m curious, what about combining a beacn mic (for the onboard processing) and a stream deck+🤔
the beacn mic is a usb mic which means it wont plug into the stream deck. even if it did, audio interfaces wont (i think) take software that's on the mic and send it to the pc. you plug it into the stream deck, you can only use stream deck software.
oh my bad. its late so i misread your comment. yea that would actually work. you can plug a beacn mic in the pc and plug the stream deck + into the pc. you should be able to use the nobs in conjunction with the beacn software. saw some other commenters talking about it too
How would you say the bridge cast one compares to the larger bridge cast that has 4 dials on it just like the beacn mix and streamdeck plus?
And I ask since the Wave Xlr if using a Noise Suppression and or EQ on the Wave Xlr, it processes on the Pc vs the Vocasters use the device for processing.
how about buying the roland and using it with the BEACN Mix? PLEASE tell me that works :O
For XLR mics
Nobody ever talks about this
wouldn't it work using, the beacn, with a stream deck ? Let's imagine we have a stream deck already. There's plugins that can change the value of output of a soft. Its not dial but it does the job, wouldn't that work ? i don't know tbf
Lewitt Connect 6, try it. Awesome product for an awesome price. And dual USB-C connection actually works :D
Also, two mic inputs and two headphones outputs.
It doesn’t seem the other two would
What about the Rode Caster interfaces?
I own the Rolan bridge cast the big brother to the one, and i love the mixer but i agree the software is lack luster, i do look forward to improvements as they release them.
So if I want a stream deck eventually also. Is there a reason for me to go with the Roland or Beacn? economically I mean
i already have a stream deck+, i just need an audio interface for my xlr mic (shure mv7+) and i was looking at the beacn studio for this... can I have that? because this video says it's one or the other... can't I have both? can't I control the mixes from beacn studio on the stream deck+? i'm currently using my mic via usb since it also has usb output, but I want to eventually upgrade to xlr + audio interface to reduce processing from my PC...
Any tips for a good USB mic for an office environment? I currently use a Wave 3 but it picks up everything (and everyone else!)
Will you cover Roland BirdgeCast X but from these 3 Beacn is the one you should go with.
Do you have a review planned for the Rodecaster now that it has virtual channels in Beta?
I'm gaming on console. Is there a way to get the game audio through one of these? I'm using a capture card for recording and streaming (Hauppauge HD PVR 2)
ive had the go xlr and stream deck for like 3 years, is there any point in getting this stuff or no?
Could you do this same video but for more budget friendly audio mixers
It is lagging so much 😭
Can you use the Stream Deck + with the BEACN to manage the audio channels with dials?
Honestly I sadly only got more confused since I am looking for that step further in my stream set up
As a newby that knows nothing about podcasting and video editing, what would you start with to learn?
- Nick
What about the Rodecaster duo after they added virtual channel?
Wowow omggg Ryan King, big fan!!
So can you use the stream deck with knobs with the becan studio?
I would love to see how the bridge cast one performes on a console only. no one is doing this kind of videos although there are tons of consoleros waiting for it
Can I use the Stream Deck XLR for a dual PC stream setup?
I have the wave XLR and I have no problems hearing my voice effects in real time even while streaming VR all on one PC
i'll be completely honest. in the 5 years ive owned my goxlr, i've never moved the faders once after setting it up. my rodecaster duo is exactly the same. faders just stay right where they are. SUB MIXES is the real champ. and if i didn't have the rodecaster, i'd grab the beacn studio. i love being able to apply compression and gates to discord (teammates!) and every other channel individually, so rodecaster wins. game changer.
Elgato wave link game channel - failed to play test tone. Doesn't play anything wired into it. What to do, re-installing doesn't work?
Creative just released the Sound Blaster G8. I hope you get a chance to review that soon!
It doesn't have XLR input right?
Someone tell elgato to build a XLR interface with the processing done on it. Particularly the one that connects to stream deck + and tell beacn to make an all in one
HEY, you should review the Maono Prostudio ps22 lite that Maono just dropped a few weeks ago, for $50 it's a pretty gnarly audio interface.
I've had a Bridgecast for over a year now and it has been excellent.
virker lortet eller hvad siger du
With all these 2 pc interfaces as of late, I'd love to see you incorporate the rodecaster duo or pro 2 into the lineup
Thoughts on using a Focusrite 2i2?
Love your videos man! Just a little "critique", you cover the software and the hardware but an I think it becomes more and more essential to cover OS compatibility. I'm a user of Beacn because of one of your past review on it, unfortunately they never released their software for any linux distro which limits what I can do with it. Still a great piece of hardware when im on windows tho!
But do any of the other competitors have Linux compability. I don't think either Elgato or Roland have that either. I know they have MacOS compability though, and since that is a UNIX based system, as Linux, you might could use Wine for the apps, but I don't think the quality would be good.
been waiting for this video wooooo
pretty sure goxlr does everything the bridge cast one does and for a lower price, I'd love to see a comparison video between them
How are these even remotely close to a GoXLR with the only one that can do 2 PCs having no physical controls or onboard processing?
The beacon looks pretty good for all the things it does and the Elgato tempts me because I STILL don't have a stream deck... but the Rpland whispers to my cheap and unsure self as my first real audio device for myself.
For the price of an Elgato mic arm you can get the Roland bridge cast which does more than what most streamers need.
I'm actively looking to get one of these but here is my issue. I'm leaning at the beach but for 50 bucks nore I can get a full blown bridge cast.
Yeah. I'll keep my RØDEcaster Duo 😎
Best!
i absolutely love mine
@@FrontyardSoccer the new beta firmware its nice im streaming 2 pc setup
when you test audio interfaces you often mention processing on device vs processing on the PC.
does that really matter that much for performance? yes, some people have crazy audio setups with multiple inputs, effects and other stuff.
but the remaining 99% of streamers? sure it puts some extra load on the CPU, but with how powerful PCs are these days, some EQ and compressor are probably barely noticeable.
is there are way to measure that?
What's the DAW that Ryan is using?!
Can you monitor your own voice eq'd on the ElGato Wave XLR?
Yes, through wavelink
The dual setup on the Beacn is kind of slick and really unheard of.
Does the RUclips algorithm just hate your Channel? Your videos are so good and you have a great subscriber count, but the views are so low for how good the content is.
Probably the ads
Are the Beacn devices Mac compatible?
Roland can easily put out updates to improve their sofware. I'm gonna go with the Roland
Any update on the stream beats website being fixed
ask them to add a bug bounty/ feature recommendation page for developers we are always looking for side projects
Honestly, i need a mic also so ill probably just go with thr beacn mic to get beacns software cause that seems game changing.
I wonder if the Beacn can be used with another Mixer due to lack of hardware buttons?
Yeah, plug mic into beacn, setup up your audio, have a stream deck plus, set mic source in wave link to beacn, enjoy the processed sound of beacn with the knobs of stream deck. It’s what Harris does with beacn mic. He plugs into a wave xlr but does his audio setup in beacn software.
@BlueScreen64 Thanks. I was wondering since the dual PC functionality is amazing. And would use it with my GoXlr
The roland was exactly what I was looking for when my fifine sc3 craps out Im getting the Roland because it connects to console and that is what I need
Why didn't Beacn just add an XLR input to their audio mixer?
would like you to compare the goxlr with all thise interfaces
