I loved this video! It brought back memories of my Dad and I out cutting fire wood during deer season. I was 4 at the time (I'm 70 now!) and sitting by the fire my Dad had built to stay warm. My Dad was bucking the log when I looked up behind him and saw the biggest 10 point I had ever seen! I'm pointing at it but the gun was next to me. My Dad told me to bring the gun and I'm telling him it was so heavy! I got it to him without the deer taking off and we brought home a 10 point instead of fire wood! Good memories I would gladly do over!

My hubby and I skied in another lifetime too, once getting stuck in very deep snow, couldn’t hardly get my skis off, lol, I laugh now, but was terrified back then, you did well, I ended up on my butt a time or two, 😅, good job though! Ever use OAC skis? My mom does great on hers on the snowmobile trails. If we ever get enough snow lol winter's cancelled again 😢 FYI ice problems can be fixed on the trail with isopropyl alcohol, the higher % the better.
Hard going in the back country for sure. I have seen thick skis used for winter travel, not the skinny cross country ones. Might be something to consider for your area. Fun video.

You might want to make a pair of cross country skis the width and length of a snow board. Fix a harness like snow board ones. That way you will not find it so slippery and they won't tire you out. I saw a trapper I Russia used them in deep snow and he said that he could travel all day with them.
Well, you made it back in one piece. I know you had a couple of issues but it looked like a good day, just the same. Sometimes, the only thing better than a day in the woods is a day in the woods with family.

Cross country skiing is a lot of exercise and work. The older you get the harder it becomes it seems, especially if you don't do it all the time. It really shows how out of shape we are, trust me I know and feel your pain. But at the end of the day, it's definitely a good workout.
