Perhaps the master of suspense of Sri Lanka cinema KAW Perera's poignant tale.
Pundit Amaradeva's dimunitive voice blended with maestro Khemadasa's music this is one of the best songs from the movie.
KAW's son Jayanthadas Perera and Gothami Pathiraja act as young lovers from two ends of the spectrum. Late Upali Attanayake gives one of his best performances as an actor in this 1970s movie too.

Mr Attanayake was my Physics master at Royal college in the early 60s. He was was highly talented person in many aspects. May you attain the supreme bliss of Nirvana!

Dear Vidhura,
This a great song and the best for me from "Janaka saha Manju". I saw this movie on its first release in 1978. The location shooting was just great and could be around the Ambewala Farm in Nuwara Eliya. The songs by Clarence and TM were great too but for some reason this song and the one by HR ("Seetha Mousam") were my favorites.

Mr. Upali Aththanayake, highly underrated Sri Lankan actor. Highly talented person.
Absolutely. You can see he's always been in KAW's films - I think KAW is the Sri Lankan Hitchcock and Upali Attanayake was ably supported by so many other good actors of those days and the competition was intense so that we had a good cinema industry in 1970-80s.

Can anyone tell me more details about Upali Attanayake. I can remember he was in an advertisement popular as "Wilson Maamage Bangalawa" Then I was so small. I know he is no more. I like him so much and whenever i see his film telecasting on television, I watch it definitely!
