- A Tribute to the divine Welsh Mezzo Soprano Katherine Jenkins, who since 2005, when she was passed the mantle by Dame Vera Lynn herself, has undertaken the role of 'Forces Sweetheart' with passion, dignity and patriotic pride.
Katherine is also a Trustee of 'The British Forces Foundation', which organises her visits to sing for British servicemen and servicewomen across the Globe, and whose aims are: "To promote the Armed Forces through charitable means by supporting the well being and esprit de corps of all serving personnel through quality entertainment." Great to see a British singer supporting our allied soldiers. I had a chance to train with British Para's and thought they were great guys. Last time I was in the Gulf I worked along side some Royal Engineers and can only say it is nice to have some decent allies.
A woman of true class. Wales and Britain are proud of her and the best armed forces in the world. Both are without peer - magnficent!
She really does boost morale on her visits; a lovely lady and a future legend.

I didn't even know about the meet and greet. I got into town that morning and I never heard about it. I bought expensive tickets too! But you know what I mean then! And 11 standing ovations was the best!
Serving as an interpreter for the British army in Afghanistan was a true privilege for me and I will never forget it. I thank British and allied forces for helping my country

Great video, I'm getting to really appreciate her music even though classical isn't usually my thing, I make an exception for her. She's beautiful, talented, graceful and seems really down to earth. I've got to go to Wales!

Yes I do! She is Katherine Jenkins, "mini-me", Jackie Evancho. I saw her at the Dallas concert. I have her CD's. I can say that her voice live, is much more dynamic than in recordings. It took my breath away. Seriously, I almost turned blue from shock! There is some tonal quality that is lost in the studio.

101 we just happen to have someone of the same caliber as Katherine Jenkins. She's only 12 years old so she hasn't lived long enough to do what Katherine has but she is well on her way. She has sung at the National Tree Lighting and the National Prayer breakfast, both attended by the First Family.

I've watched alot of her interviews I find it hard to believe that she's not genuine. I just think some people dislike her popularising opera/classical. The likes of Andre Rieu, Michael Buble and others like that face the same criticism as being imitators in their genres, I'd say its all just snobs.

Yes snobs for sure but it would seem the opera people would see the benefits of Classical singers like Katherine Jenkins, Jackie Evancho, Sarah Brightman, Hannah Magnelli, Faryl Smith etc bringing their Classical, operatic voices to the public. More publicity for opera has to be good I would think.
I have said before, we have Britney Spears, you have Katherine Jenkins; we have Madonna most of the time, you have Katherine Jenkins; we have the "prima donna" Jennifer Lopez, you have Katherine Jenkins; we have the slut Christina Auguilera, you have Katherine Jenkins! Well said Tomakak now the PM needs to bring his troops home ASAP so they and Katherine don't have to risk their lives in a country that is not worth their lives being lost.

Im all for british troops being entertained! But to sent someone as hot as katherine can only make it worse for them! Hot blooded males who have been away from their other halfs! And the other thing is i really can't see the boys loving opera music! Send over some rock bands! So they can really enjoy themselves! American troops are treated to the WWE making an appearance every once in a while etc! Our troops get katherine jenkins/james blunt and a hasbeen comedian.
