About the Game:
In 7th Dragon III Code: VFD, humankind is on the brink of extinction until the game company NODENS devises a way to travel back in time. Players will have to explore three time periods with a deeply customizable party (8 classes, 40 voices, and 96 appearance options!), to fight dragons and save the human race. Oh, but in between battles, there are also relationships to build, party synergies to manage, and rescuing cats to include in the game's Cat Café.

amazing JRPG. made me interested in games again after being burned out for a long time. recommended for all 3ds JRPG lovers. you cant go wrong with this.
There are very few reviews for this game on RUclips. I have a feeling this game will be widely overlooked.
I love how unique and fun each classes are; my favorites so far are the duelist and fortuner.
I just downloaded every demo on the Nintendo eshop that looked interesting. One demo that really stuck with me was 7th Dragon. I've never played an RPG before, but I'm considering this.
can't wait to get this
how do you control the game? I can't use the down (cross) Button anymore and would have to use the circle game pad thing to control it.
im currently playing the 7th dragon 2020-II for psp, when i finished it i would like to try this.
From the looks of it, all characters use the same 3D model, with different clothes/hair.
is that mean it's like most 3ds jrpg with 3d model ?
just started playing this and i like it
Is it a PC game
Hmm guess I'll check out some reviews to see if this game is worth it - "Music by Yuzo Koshiro" -and I just bought it.
Good review my friend
I wish this game had stereoscopic 3D so bad, it truly feels like it was made for it
Are you still playing this game and if so when will you upload the rest of the playthrough? I'm getting it this month on the 16th so just want to see the rest of it so i get a guess at what im getting into.Awesome vids btw and you have earned a new sub.
Tsume Yukiko I plan to finish it this Summer!
Gammalad Sounds good and thanks for the reply
This is worth the BUY.!! #KGG
OH. MY. GOD.
I NAMED MY MAID NAMI TOO, WTF?!
Augusto Forget Nami! Rem is bae!
Is there English voices, if not is there subtitles or does it ever hamper the experience?
All the voices are in Japanese, but it first very well. The only thing that is not subtitled are the voices in battle.
Does 7th dragon have a season 2 or next game?
This was the final game in the series. The ending doesnt leave much room for any sequels.
I'm getting this game first day no doubt, but what it kinda turn me down was the fact that not all the classes are available from the beginning but well. Great review.
Trust me if they were they would break the early game by quite a lot. You unlock them more as the game progresses in difficulty.
But you can change your avatar's class/appearance?
You can change their appearance, but you cannot change their class once they are registered, that being said you can always create a new avatar later on when you unlock a new class you would rather lead, or just rearrange your team when you unlock more classes.
Oh that's great then, thank you so much Gamma. Also I started a subreddit called 7thDragon and if you are ok with it I wanna post your review & LP once the first episode is up.
By all means go ahead!
So basically radiant historia
No
Is this game for 3DS? If so, where can I get it? It reminds me of dragon quest of the DS for some reason 😂
Yes, this game is for 3DS. You can try to find a retail copy, but it's probably easier to download it off the eShop. Also, nice Stella Glow profile pic.
+Kellam thanks 😊 gammalad got me obsessed with Stella glow the minute I watched his let's play 👍🏻 thanks for the info aswell, I'm going to try and get this game 😀
which soundtrack was better? stella glow or this?
Oh man thats tough...I will have to say 7th Dragon because there is just so much more music in it than Stella Glow
in terms of story which is better/ Stella glow is my favorite game and i need to know if this will be better xD
Stella Glow overall had a much better story, but this games story can really hit you up at times.
there both good since it depends on your taste. Futuristic music or more anime pop culture music style.
This is the third game in the series, right? Do you have to play the other ones first? Or do the japanese exclusives not go into this one?
This is the fourth and final game in the 7th Dragon series, this game takes place 70~ years after the events of 7th Dragon 2020 II, so the only thing that ties into this game are dragons are bad and we must save humanity. There are some character cameos in the later game that do have their arcs completed from the first 3 games the game presents them in a way where it is extremely newcomer friendly. So you don't have to worry about being lost at all. Sadly SEGA has no plans to localize the DS game or 2 PSP games.
***** Huh. Okay. In that case, I'll probably get it.
+Blaze Theil the ds and psp games have a completed fan translation, except 7th dragon 2020-II
Thank you
VFD or RF4? Which is better?
*sweats*
That's a good question for me to tackle one day.
It depends I have played and liked the two but its more the type of jrpgs you like, if you like a straight forward game play 7th dragon if you want a my pace where you collect stuff to upgrade skills and equipment go with rune factory
Okay help! I got this game on christmas but I´ve never played anything close to it before, mostly just mario games.
So since i have the game i obviously wanted to try it out and I´m sooo confused. The game kind of just threw me into this world with barely any knowlege and I just can´t figure out what I am supposed to do. And the fighting is the worst like.. what?! This is not the games fault I am just a noob and I have no idea what I am doing :D Can anybody maybe give me a hint of how this works please?
I do have a Let's Play of this game that goes up through the games half way point. You should check it out, it may help you get your bearings straight as you go through it!
***** Okay, thanks a lot It`ll be a huge help ^^
You sound a lot like the JWittz
Sounds more like Arlo.
Matthew Mahnken I hear the JWittz more than Arlo
I like the way you reviewed the game in this episode, where you fight your habit of machine-gun rattling words out of your mouth and end up mumbling
Because this is an actual review of the game and not part of the Let's Play...?
Well, I was comparing your way of speaking in this review episode with your _Senran Kagura Deep Crimson_ review about a year before this.
Here, the speaking is at a steadier and more manageable pace, I feel.
Oh! Well yeah, the Deep Crimson review was my third review on this channel, so I was still trying to find the right groove, between that and this I had 20 more reviews put under my belt, so I am always trying to improve on the quality.
What about if I want my characters to have storylines like the Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, Skies of Arcadia type of characters?
Considering this was made by SEGA, I kinda wanted them to make characters with their own storylines like in Skies of Arcadia that had the best characters in their own personal storylines.
As beautiful the characters do look in the character customization, I feel like I am only playing with blank slate characters and feel have no real connection with them.
Not every piece of fiction is meant to be relatable, this trend is pretty much the reason why cringy self-insert Mary Sues are so common.
Its not the best but i fucking love it
Lol you little shit😋
While this game has generally received positive nods, it just doesn't interest me. I thought the demo was boring and even watching gameplay, it still doesn't pique my interest. Thanks for the great review!
Gamma is such a Loyd RIPOFF from Tales Of Symphonia😪😪😪😑
It's not bad, the story is quite average and it's gameplay is ok. The challenge is done well but it gets repetitive quick and I like how, with my copy of the game, it included a instruction manual for the characters which is a rare thing for games nowadays. I just wish the story was much better and I would've liked some more personality within the characters.
Can u be a male in this game since in the demo i had to be a female
Its got nothing on Bravely Default/ Second.
HAUL Hip Hop lol I never played this game but I have bravely default and it's amazing for real
+Eddison Thomas ff3 remake lol nah
prinny god FF3 is the goat
It is great
It's meh from what I played wasn't a big fan of they overly complicated/weird battle system I was a fan of they art even if they like to reuse it abit too much and can only get you soo far with me
7th dragon 2020 is better in my opinion and the hacker looks like they are t poseing
After watching a couple of your review videos. I really enjoyed it. And i think you just earned a subscriber. I do have 1 problem with your videos tho. It's not like i have 3.500 subs or anything, but one thing that you should improve is your scoring system. to score a game from 0-10 Isn't unique. You need something that makes your review stand out. For example.. ProJared, he scored scorch lands "A Funky Bomb/10" Gamexplain score the games from whether they like it or not. They scored Stella Glow "I really like it" instead of "10/10".
When I first decided to do reviews, it was in conjunction of launching my website gaminggamma, we wanted to have a universal system in place that everyone could use on the site, so we decided to stick to the number review system. We did toy around with the idea of overhauling it but we decided as long as we maintain a website it's best that we keep a consistent X/10 review score for all our reviewers to adhere. This also comes in handy because a lot of reviews that get posted onto gaminggamma do not get a video adaptation of it. Some examples are Earth Defense Force, Digimon Cyber Slueth and the Danganrona PC ports. In theory we could remove the review score itself and just use the animated profile pictures in the score card to represent the score, we believe that assigning a score helps drive it home and we try our best to provide a meaning behind that score.
That being said, I do appreciate the sub! And I am glad you enjoy my video reviews! I hope that was able to shed some light on why we have decided to stick to the 20 point (ie 7.5, 8, 8.5) 10 scale.
It can't be as good as Stella Glow.
The review of Stella Glow only reflects the opinion of our website and not my personal opinion as I was not the one to review that game. If I had reviewed it Stella Glow would have been an easy 10/10 for me.
***** Ah, okay. I'm glad somebody else liked it as much as I did. :)
+Blaze Theil
Yeah seriously Stella glow's story was amazing and animations as well
Zain Stella Glow was, like, the best 3ds exclusive.
i agree, and the fun part is of course, both stella glow and 7th dragon lll vfd is made by the same company called imagepooch that is no longer around.... im going to miss them.
N!ce
nice advertisement bro.
Really enjoy your reviews, and it seems like you're honest about how you feel about a particular game. But...
I couldn't disagree more with you regarding SMTIV Apocalypse. Loved the first game so, so much. But that sequel was pure trash. An abomination in storytelling and characters to the first game. Your review of that game makes me question your judgment. Hard to sub after that.
I can't expect everyone to agree with every review we do here.
9/10 ??come one dude gtfo
No.
I guess disgea ruined me with classes. To me, this game feels way to much like every run of the mill Final Fantasy RPG. Boring turn based system with 0 innovation.
