Good evening, Phil. Thanks for opening the door to your shop. I appreciate the time taken to make this piece. Simple and very rewarding. It's a good feeling, feeling good.

Please extend my mom's and my thanks to Valerie for sending that slice. It would have been a nice bowl anyway, but the spalting really makes it special.
Sorry you’ve been feeling less than stellar, Phil. Still, that is a real beauty, my friend. Once again, gotta love Valerie! 😅😅😊 Stay well, my friend, …..Gord
That's beautiful. I too love spalting. So interesting looking. The Feed n Wax was just what that needed. Good to have you back again Phil. Glad you feel better.
Gorgeous piece of wood. I find it amazing that most people would think that this piece of wood was a piece of trash. But those of us who turn have a hood idea of what could be, and probably is, inside. Thank you for turns big it for all of us to enjoy.
@@valeriehenschel1590 Good morning Valerie. I actually turned my lathe on for the first time in 12 weeks yesterday to make a seam ripper for an order I had. Well thanks to Valerie for sending you this piece of Maple Burl which we now know is such a beautiful piece of Burl. We know this because you have exercised your Midas touch once again for our benefit. Quick & easy maybe but you have made it into a superb little bowl. I love the 'Feed n Wax' finish, I always do. I watch a channel called 'flippingdraws' by a Dutch chap living in England. He does some great furniture restoration from 'rubbish' & he uses 'Feed n Wax' constantly. Great bowl, great video but sorry to hear you have been a little unwell. Glad you got back into your shop where all your viewers need you to be. Take care mate & cheers, Don from South Australia.
I hereby crown you King of Punk(y) Spalt. You handled it beautifully, and made it look easy to turn. (When we know it is not easy to turn smoothly). Glad you enjoyed the wood, the turn, and your excellent results!
