Each and every piece I’ve seen made, always has a different look! Wood is a stunning medium! Such diverse colours, grains, personalities! Just made for being clever with!
I'd say the results are more than simply satisfactory, it's lovely! The spalted Birch really makes a nice statement piece. That kind of result only comes with experience. 👏👏❤
These colors remind me of the colors that I used in decorating my first apartment after leaving home in the 70’s . I had a room divider made of hanging wooden beads in these colors and orange shag carpet. It was to die for. 😂 My sofa, the only seating in the living room was a plaid sofa with the same colors. It was wonderful. The walls in my kitchenette were painted a deep orange and I had laminated menus from local restaurants as decoration’s instead of pictures. I even used macrame hangers for my plants which were everywhere. I thought I was so hip. 😂 Thanks so much for bringing back those happy memories.
Turned out great. Thanks for the explanations throughout the video. We all experience those same issues yet it is good to learn how better to deal with them AND that it may not be us but the wood.😊
Very beautiful, at times like these the experience of the creator comes to the fore, and makes the difference between failure and success! The rich colours of wood and resin make for a great result.
Thank you Morgan for this wonderful inspiration. I have several branches out in the shed of birch, and these would make simple pieces of art for the upcoming holiday bazars. I have been looking for ideas to use my resign prior to it going to waste on the shelf on me. Again thanks for the great idea. John in Anchorage
Very beautiful piece the struggles appeared to be worth it from where I sit! :) I am actually inspired by this because i have some beautifully spalted burch but with punky spots which feel like such a waste, perhaps an approach something like this (resin heavy) would help stabilize it (I really don't want to actually do the cactus juice stabilization :p). Nicely done! :)
Just a thought, but before you cut the wood into sections, make a line down the side with spray paint. It will make the line up easier, and more accurate. The peice looks amazing. I love the color combo.
Not that bad in the end. I like the interrupted but still consistent grain direction. Maybe you should have poured with the piece oriented horizontally to avoid the bubbles.
Yes I could have absolutely used a separation tool but you have to take into consideration their thickness of 2 mm compared to a band saw blade which is only 0.8 more I wanted to slightly offset the washers by a few rotating millimeter
Beautiful work! I also like how you speed up the video after initially showing an operation at regular speed. Too many videos show the same thing for way too long.
It's better to use a negative rake cutter for epoxy, and once it chips, it will keep chipping the best thing to do is sand out the chips and start over with your gouge. It turned out very nice.
Very, VERY excellent! (I never give anything two ‘verys) Love the spalting……..looks a bit like an old whiskey barrel. I’m thinking how nice it would be to have someplace make up your “secret sauces” so your loyal followers could avail themselves to it….. ……….for a price of course.🤔🤔🤔
Suzi🌸😊 I'm very flattered to have received two "tres" from you👍I'm glad you like this piece. I plan to make a video to explain how I make my finishing products🌸

Beautiful work. Could you have used a parting tool to make the slots or would that of messed up the grain?
Yes I could have absolutely used a separation tool but you have to take into consideration their thickness of 2 mm compared to a band saw blade which is only 0.8 more I wanted to slightly offset the washers by a few rotating millimeter
I like the colors! May I ask how the polishing paste and wax are made?
