Woodturning- when GEOMETRY comes to LIFE in our PROJECTS😳

  • From simple geometric shapes I create a work of art with an interesting pattern using exotic red wood and white ash, all glued with epoxy resin.
    This project is accessible to beginners who know how to use woodworking machines such as band saws, table saws and wood lathes.
    I film my work in my carpentry workshop, in a relaxing ASMR atmosphere with ambient workshop sounds, to share my ideas with you.
    Good viewing !!

    Bon visionnage !!

    OMGOSH how beautiful this turned out! I was worried that the black epoxy would overwhelm the ash, but nope, it made the whole piece look lovely. Keep up with your creative mind and I’ll keep watching!!

    ive been following your channel for a couple of years and, although youve always been really creative, its nice to see your attention to details improve as well as your wood-turning skills. i think the extra time spent on making that little jig really paid off in terms of precision; that geometric pattern looks so good! also i really like the black tinted epoxy, it adds a certain level of sophistication that the other colors didnt. cheers!

    Bien, ya no se que decir... Creo que como tornero, eres excelente. Eso está claro. Pero viéndote trabajar, viendo la forma en que planificas tus proyectos, eso hace que solo pueda decir que eres un verdadero artista. Creo que ya lo dije, pero lo repito. Un ARTISTA así, con mayúsculas. La tornería me fascina y admiro como verdaderos maestros como tú, se toman el tiempo como para enseñarnos tanto. Muchas gracias, nuevamente, por compartir tus experiencias y conocimientos. Proyectos que, por lo que se puede ver, disfrutas muchísimo en realizarlos. Te mando un abrazo grande.

    Morgan, I have been subscribed for quite a while and enjoy every one of your videos. As a fellow woodturner (cough cough-ROOKIE) I am curious about the infiltration of the low viscosity resin into the sometimes rather large open ends of grain in white woods like ash. I usually use Hard Maple as my white wood of choice. I always coat the resin adjoining surfaces of white woods with some kind of sealant prior to casting. Shot in the dark question, would you be interested in doing a collaboration of sorts? I have never done one. Peace, Brother!

    • @bawbreizhartwood
      @bawbreizhartwood  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Clayton
      Thank you for your comment😉👍👍
      Yes indeed, to prevent the low viscosity resin from penetrating to the end of the grain of the ash wood, it is imperative to apply a layer of resin beforehand, especially if you put it under pressure.
      For questions about collaboration or anything else, you can send me an email

    As much as I like this piece, I really don’t like the black colored resin. It looks like it’s leeching into the wood, making the edges of the wood look messy.

    • @bawbreizhartwood
      @bawbreizhartwood  5 месяцев назад +3

      Karen
      The black resin actually seeps into the grain of the ash and gives this slightly blurred effect. If you want to avoid this effect, simply use a pore filler before pouring the resin.😉
