No. This is complete B.S. First of all shame on CBS News for holding these hack news polls that no one knows how they're even conducted then they call the results actual facts and newsworthy. The news completely lets Trump's incompetence slide constantly and yet, are reporting that Biden should drop out based off a poor debate performance? Does no one else see how insane that is? When he's reading of Autocue it's easy. Elderly people with dementia can sing along to songs from their youth but can't remember what happened 10 minutes ago. Long-term memory is handled differently to short-term memory. Executive function of the brain is seriously affected by loss of short-term memory, which is what the President is suffering from, and it's degenerative/ chronic.

What we saw at the debate was not “a bad night”, as many liberals described it. To the contrary, it was his best foot forward. They finally saw a realistic picture of the guy they voted for, without the liberal media's filters, gaslighting and censorship.

US "democracy" is not that clear. The electoral vote system is a weak response to true democracy. True democracy one person:one vote. No need for representatives to decide for the voters whom they want. This has to be dressed soon. Where I came from, Puerto Rico a colony of the US for the las 126 years (itself a violation of the constitution, territories must become states or be sent free) one person = one vote. Direct will of the voters. No one will elect an elderly persons for a governor (we do not vote for the President). The US has two elderly persons for candidates, so there will be a lot of trouble for the next 4 years for shure, no matter who wins.
Those alternate candidates poll lower than Trump because they have no name recognition which would change if Biden stepped aside and allowed these candidates to run

Dementia medications (cholinesterase inhibitors) only work for approximately 6-12 months. IMO Biden is obviously near the end of the efficacy of these drugs. He forgets what he’s talking about mid-sentence. His face has become bizarrely mask-like. He walks with his arms slightly bent & frozen, like C-3PO. When he doesn’t fall asleep in public, he appears to be lost and confused. He has to be led around like a child, or he gets lost, or stumbles and falls. The day is coming soon, when he won’t even remember his own name. Do the Democrats not have one worthy candidate?

Republicans may decide to promote RFK Jr’s independent bid as a democratic alternative to Biden. This would help divide the Democratic vote and ensure Trump wins in November (assuming all Trump’s supporters turn out and deliver roughly the same vote total as in the previous election).
