It's not that debate...It was his condition. Something is wrong. Its critical that we look at this without the rose tinted glasses. He is no longer able to run, much less win. We have great people in the stands who can rise to this occasion, and win this fight. We owe it to the generations that follow us to get a Plan B in action. Look at the other possibilities. Then vote on the TEAM that can dump Trump.

A couple of my high school government/history teachers had done a lot of research and filled in some gaps in our study guide for tests. I loved to read, so I did more than assigmed. The librarian would pull out biographies for more points of view to my great delight. Yeah, I didn't date much.

The man you're thinking of is Gouverneur Morris of NY. He, along with Madison and Hamilton, sat on the Style committee. But, as this brief conversation hints at, the "Founding Fathers" were all similar men: wealthy, propetied, educated, and the political, economic, and social leaders of their colonies. Britian's active governance of the 13 colonies after 1763 were direct threat to their dominance. It's not surprising that they would seek to run their own independent country, esp. considering that British elites looked down on them.

This is part of the problem...Right now is a pivotal point in history, and President Biden is unable to make the hard decision we need to make now. Only 5 of the Supremes signed on to the outrageous section III-C. Although Barrett's concurrence was wrong, it wasn't quite as dismissive of the rule of law as the opinion the 5 men in black dresses dresses signed onto.

Over 35 years ago, my boss woke me up at my desk and apologized. That day I was sick but the work had a deadline, I finished my work then went home. Yes, you can have a very bad day, that was the only day I was out of it. But everything I did was in slow motion, and I was in my forties. It took me two hours when it should have taken minutes. I understand Biden.

The Biden-Harris Campaign is a powerhouse of governing experience. No ticket has EVER had the credentials that Biden-Harris have. I, as an older American Citizen & retired Army Officer, believe this combination of skills will guide OUR COUNTRY thru the troubled times ahead. I would ordinarily, like last week, agree with you. But the world changed last Thursday night. We all realized that we had been lied to. President Biden cannot lead, he cannot do the least of his duties, articulate the values of Democracy to America and the world. We have lots of other capable, patriotic Democrats who can now lead the fight.
According to Dr. Heather Cox Richarson, a political historian - "This was not a debate. It was Trump using a technique that actually has a formal name, the Gish gallop, although I suspect he comes by it naturally. It’s a rhetorical technique in which someone throws out a fast string of lies, non-sequiturs, and specious arguments, so many that it is impossible to fact-check or rebut them in the amount of time it took to say them. Trying to figure out how to respond makes the opponent look confused, because they don’t know where to start grappling with the flood that has just hit them.
It is a form of gaslighting, and it is especially effective on someone with a stutter, as Biden has. It is similar to what Trump did to Biden during a debate in 2020. In that case, though, the lack of muting on the mics left Biden simply saying: “Will you shut up, man?” a comment that resonated with the audience. Giving Biden the enforced space to answer by killing the mic of the person not speaking tonight actually made the technique more effective."
Anyone who has ever dealt with verbal abuse in a partner/friend/boss, etc. knows how this feels and how paralyzing it is to deal with and respond to - there is no gaining ground because the person is in their own made up reality.

The only reason we are still talking about the debate is because you reporters give Trump a pass on everything. Why are you not reporting on Trump's slurring speech, vengeance talk, and stop acting like what Trump is doing is normal. Everyone no matter age has a bad day. I'm waiting for the day we have real truth reporting and we report on both men's records as president. But I understand that will not get you ratings which is more important to you then our country and the truth.

This focus on Biden's debate performance - or more particularly how confident he looked - suits MAGA as it is successfully keeping off the air the issues that matter: the economy, climate change, employment, national debt, incomes and inflation. On any of these issues Trump is dead in the water, a failure. MAGA needs to keep the reality of performance in office out of sight, and the media is in practice facilitating that.
I noticed these issues you brought up didn't start to improve until After Repubs took control of the House in 2022.
