Terry Silver is a villain you just love to hate, but he is a man of his word. The fact that he has consistently had Kreese’s back, for decades, and will have his back until the day one of them dies, is an admirable quality.

In one of the earlier episodes when they get caught and one of the soldiers is killed one of the soldiers starts freaking out and the captain says “shut your goddamn mouth silver”. Idk why so many people keep thinking this scene is the first indication of silver in this season. His name is mentioned much earlier in the season.

Terry: Yeah sure man, whatever you want, but didn't we do that like 30 years ago already? You know, in Karate Kid Part III? In all seriousness though, great season. Kreese's backstory was the best part of it by far. Can't help but feel sorry for the guy and think about how our vets are treated in real life. Fact is, we sent thousands of kids to that war and treated them like garbage when they came back. Very sad part of american history tbh.

Saving Terry Silver is the only reminder Kreese has that he still has mercy in him. I think bringing Silver back in Season 4 will be the pivotal point in Kreese's final redemption.
It's funny because a lot of people forget Kreese didn't even want to go after Daniel and Miyagi in the third film. He said to Silver he didn't need to go after them and he didn't need to do that. Silver was the one who insisted.
Yeah, and it was Kreese who surprisingly sort of wanted to leave well enough alone at first. It maybe began to sink into him that it was indeed himself at fault for what happened after the 1984 All Valley Tournament. That of which caused him to lose all of his students with the way he behaved, and told them to fight dirty against Daniel, which caused them to question his methods as a result. Silver was the one who insisted they get revenge (while not knowing what truly happened), and maybe we'll soon see something reminiscent of when Darth Vader turned against Emperor Palpatine at the last moment in Star Wars at some point too?
@@freakyfornash Yes, this is it....I remember in the beginning of KK3, he seemed somewhat humbled and even ashamed almost....as you say, like he knew he was wrong. But then somehow Terry's insistence made him go through with it. And now in Cobra Kai he seems to have no regret whatsoever. Good point about Terry not knowing what really happened. That was something that really had me scratching my head in KK3. But then KK3 was full of issues, mainly characters acting in ways that they simply wouldn't do. Miyagi for example would not completely ditch/abandon Daniel when he had been blackmailed and harrassed into entering the tournament.....nor would he then act like Daniel was pushing him away even though he turned his back on Daniel in the first place....

That despite when he was able to beat an apparent, far superior fighter in Chozen during their death match at the end of the second movie for that matter also!
This scene is so tragic. You can tell just by looking at Kreese's face that he isn't the same person anymore. There is some very underrated acting from young kreese here with the character transformation we can gage just based on his posture and face before and after entering the snake pit with his captain. What hurts even more is that if you've seen Karate Kid, you know that his worse qualities will only continue to grow from this point on. Cobra Kai Season 3 did such a good job portraying Young Kreese as a decent person, that you want to forget he is destined to fall.
Fortunately Daniel also also has a powerful (maybe even more s) friend who is someone who will do almost anything to help him his whole life, he saved the life of- Yuna

@Nemo Pouncey I actually think Barnes may get the redemption arc like Chozen. Barnes reason for helping Silver was purely financial and Terry essentially screwed him over. Barnes may have a reason to go against Silver and Kreese.

Perhaps Barnes will see this as a way to both get revenge on Daniel, and redeem himself to Kreese & Silver in the process? That especially if he's offered a chance at another huge payday as a result. If I'm correct about that, Daniel & Johnny are going to be needing some backup, which is when we'll either see Chozen come back to help them, and/or when Julie Pierce will finally re-enter the picture at some point for that matter as well.

yep, I think the writers just contradicted themselves. First they make a 100% loyal Silver which is faithful to the KK3 character but then they undo that in S4 by having Silver betraying Kreese, totally nonsense...

Karate Kid 1-3: Kreese was a pain in the neck. Cobra Kai: We can kind of see where Kreese came from, but how these memories were thrown away are forever a mystery.

Kreese keep using this to make silver feel guilty so silver would do whatever he said which ultimately made silver betray him. Don’t forget Silver is stronger than Kreese but silver choose not to fight him because he was being loyal.
As awful as Kreese is, it's kind of beautiful that he was, at one point in his life, worthy of that kind of loyalty, and that to one guy at least, he's not a villain, but instead a hero. The backstory Cobra Kai gives us on this duo does a good job of explaining to us why the two of them are so thoroughly fucked up. Who wouldn't be after that?
They made it seem like the other guy was Terry Silver. They looked alike. He even took Kreese’s picture and said, “Johnny, Johnny!” I’m either confused or they were trolling us.
@@ryanliney5500 They did that with Miguel's surgeon too. Miguel said she was an "out of state" surgeon who has worked miracles for her patients. And with her back turned, we see her long blonde hair and with a dramatic reveal, we see it's not Ali. They really made the other character more like Silver than the guy who really is Silver. He had the same pony tail, facial features, personality, talk, and included exact phrases Silver would say. I guarantee that some people watching still think he was Silver. They probably walked out for a quick bathroom break or snack, and missed the scene that showed the real Terry Silver.

I dont think he can even be redeemed. Terry Silver is more of a good guy. He is nice to people close to him and very loyal to his friends. That loyalty to Kreese is the only thing that drives to do bad things.

I think Silver ultimately will redeem Kreese. If they bring back Mike Barnes, he will be the final Antagonist, and will probably end up getting laughed at. It would be a crime for it to end any other way. Kreese, Silver, Daniel, and Johnny have all literally faced death together.
Naw Kreese was always the better and more fierce fighter. Silver is better and being strategic when it comes to playing mind games In the flashbacks, Silver is crying about it was his fault they got caught (it was because his radio noise exposed their position) and then when they were in the POW cage, Silver was crying like a bitch that they were all going to die. When Silver was picked to fight against the Captain, he started cowering like a scared bitch and then Kreese calmly stood up and volunteered to fight the captain

@@3912James I sense that somehow, the tutelage given to Robby by Kreese’s colleagues might get cruel enough to a point where it might be the spark towards Robby feeling remorse for a change and finally taking him off the path to perdition and on the road to redemption. It might include the flashback of when Daniel told his students about the time he “joined” Cobra Kai under Silver.
I can't believe there's idiots out there who think Kreese called somebody else. Season 3 directly tells the viewers that Kreese is calling "Twig" which was Silvers nickname in Vietnam. Twig (silver) is the only one alive in that photo unless Kreese is calling himself. I can't wait for season 4🙂

The only thing which might be a bit weird is that in real like Terry silver actor Thomas Ian Griffith is only 58! That's one year younger than Ralph Machio and a hell of a .ot younger than John krees actor Martin kove who is like 74
Thomas looked quite old for his age in Karate Kid. I wouldn't have thought he was 27 and tbh doesn't look far off from Martin Kowe's age back then and now . So for me it works personally

Honestly, the relationship between Kreese and Silver is actually quite badass
This scene alone makes me want to watch Karate Kid Part 3 all over again. Btw props to whoever scored the soundtrack. Really kickass.
Kreese keep using this to make silver feel guilty so silver would do whatever he said which ultimately made silver betray him. Don’t forget Silver is stronger than Kreese but silver choose not to fight him because he was being loyal.

As awful as Kreese is, it's kind of beautiful that he was, at one point in his life, worthy of that kind of loyalty, and that to one guy at least, he's not a villain, but instead a hero. The backstory Cobra Kai gives us on this duo does a good job of explaining to us why the two of them are so thoroughly fucked up. Who wouldn't be after that?
They made it seem like the other guy was Terry Silver. They looked alike. He even took Kreese’s picture and said, “Johnny, Johnny!” I’m either confused or they were trolling us.

@@ryanliney5500 They did that with Miguel's surgeon too. Miguel said she was an "out of state" surgeon who has worked miracles for her patients. And with her back turned, we see her long blonde hair and with a dramatic reveal, we see it's not Ali. They really made the other character more like Silver than the guy who really is Silver. He had the same pony tail, facial features, personality, talk, and included exact phrases Silver would say. I guarantee that some people watching still think he was Silver. They probably walked out for a quick bathroom break or snack, and missed the scene that showed the real Terry Silver.

I dont think he can even be redeemed. Terry Silver is more of a good guy. He is nice to people close to him and very loyal to his friends. That loyalty to Kreese is the only thing that drives to do bad things.

I think Silver ultimately will redeem Kreese. If they bring back Mike Barnes, he will be the final Antagonist, and will probably end up getting laughed at.
It would be a crime for it to end any other way. Kreese, Silver, Daniel, and Johnny have all literally faced death together.

In the flashbacks, Silver is crying about it was his fault they got caught (it was because his radio noise exposed their position) and then when they were in the POW cage, Silver was crying like a bitch that they were all going to die. When Silver was picked to fight against the Captain, he started cowering like a scared bitch and then Kreese calmly stood up and volunteered to fight the captain

@@3912James I sense that somehow, the tutelage given to Robby by Kreese’s colleagues might get cruel enough to a point where it might be the spark towards Robby feeling remorse for a change and finally taking him off the path to perdition and on the road to redemption. It might include the flashback of when Daniel told his students about the time he “joined” Cobra Kai under Silver.
Yeah in part 3 of Karate Kid Terry said he owed him Kreese saved his life back in the military was willing to hurt Daniel.
So it was Terry Silver who made John Kreese the bad guy he is.

I can't believe there's idiots out there who think Kreese called somebody else. Season 3 directly tells the viewers that Kreese is calling "Twig" which was Silvers nickname in Vietnam. Twig (silver) is the only one alive in that photo unless Kreese is calling himself. I can't wait for season 4🙂

Thomas looked quite old for his age in Karate Kid. I wouldn't have thought he was 27 and tbh doesn't look far off from Martin Kowe's age back then and now . So for me it works personally
