The style here is French scifi. The story is based on maybe a few different things, but especially the older animated movie "Heavy Metal," in turn inspired by the French scifi illustrated magazine of the same name. Basically, it's a story of supernatural evil / war / violence being defeated by the light of love, delivered by the "perfect being."

Fun fact about the opera singer scene is the musical director for the film (Eric Serra) didn't have a lot of experience writing for vocalists before this film. So for the opera scene, he just made some rediculous vocal line he assumed the vocalist wouldn't be able to perform, so they could work on the vocals together. The opera singer came in and basically just sang what he wrote and blew Eric away.

The dude on the left is so wrong saying "it was a little booty." Classical music, including opera is one of the oldest and most revered music genres In The World. Not in America. Not in Italy. Not in Germany or Austria. The World.
It's too bad he's too fixed in his thinking to even allow himself to consider enjoying it. Especially as a so called musician.
How can someone who considers themselves a serious musician ignore such an important genre? But, whatever. He's only hurting himself

Hey guys, first time seeing ya’ll. You’re fun as hell to watch with. Another futuristic movie I think you’ll get a real kick out of is Demolition Man from 1993 Staring Sylvester Stallone, Wesley Snipes and Sandra Bullock. I know the combination sounds like it wouldn’t work but it’s so unbelievably perfect. There are a lot of other familiar faces you may recognize that just don’t have much screen time. People like Benjamin Bratt, Denis Leary, Bill Cobbs, Jack Black, and Rob Schneider. Snipes plays a wildly eccentric villain that gives Joker vibes and Sandra plays a naïve cop from the future with an obsession with the late 1900’s constantly misusing/misquoting slang from that time. She’s freaking adorable. Plus, you get to see what sex will look like in the future. 😱
And Stallone plays the stereotypical action hero he does.
Wesley Snipes is so good and so fast with martial arts that they actually had to ask him to slow down his movements in order to actually film it properly. Despite the fact he didn’t want the role and only took it because he needed the money, he REALLY delivers with this character.

I’m so glad yall vibed out‼️ This movie is a classic one of my favs I’ve watched it way too many times to count. I’m glad you get it. The futuristic element was top tier still is. It’s a classic that cannot be duplicated. So if you ever wonder why you may see some into like the futuristic aesthetic this movie and Mario and Luigi,Terminator, Batman with the riddler and poison Ivy carried a lot of us 90s baby into a whole new style that then leaked onto others like Disney with Zenon girl of the 21st century. The 70s/80s/90s were pivotal marks that still carry through with style today. I’m glad yall vibed because I most certainly died watching yall. It was a joy to watch yall watching my fav movie thank you 🙏🏾. Yall should definitely watch Mario&Lugigi very good classic. I could name so many. New subby for sure. Back in 90s people were not offended easily by movie they watched , they had fun and moved on 😂. I watched it at theater when it first time shown, the message is simple : live and let live, love is powerful, hate is destructive. The visual effects, the plot, the design , sound effect and chris acting ability were and are still one of the greatest from the 90s 😊 my jaw dropped when watching on the big theater screen.
