    •  5 лет назад +4

Youll hit issues after 100K.. You'll pretty much wanna do a tranny and head overhaul at around 100K.. New valvetrain, new chain, new syncros, replace all old clutch parts(cmc/smc and lines).. I mean, yeah, you can take the car to 150-200K without changing these things, but the car will likely not be running all that well and it becomes a ticking time bomb.. If you enjoy driving the car hard at times, doing the 100K overhaul is ideal. Just did everything on my 05-06 and the thing feels like its brand new and it pulls HARD with all the bolt ons, Kpro, and Supertech Valvetrain and tsx cams... Also running a Ghostwerks k20z1 trans(LSD, Syncrotech carbon kit, gearX first and second, syncrotech sleeves).. Tranny will hold 600whp easy when I go boost.

Mine is already 12 years old n done 260,000km n given enough highway, it WILL reach 230kmh. Stock! And in an auto! (theres only an auto option where i come from) Just make sure u leave it in 4th n let it scream to 7000rpm, it will reach that speed. Hi, i have bunch of question and i thought asking here won´t hurt anyone.
I have 95 civic sedan with B16B and i´d like to swap it for k20a, maybe using k24 block.
    1. When buying used engine, what is the "right" milage? Is 10 000 miles / 160 000 km too much?
    2. If i were to buy k20a type r, what K24 type block should i be looking for?
    3. Is swaping blocks risky / affects reliability?
    4. Going for aftermarket camshafts may not be the best thing if you mind a reliability of the car. What about forced induction? Does turbocharging / supercharging k20 affects its reliability and if so, how much?
Thanks for reading through, really appreciate all informations.

Well mileage for a well maintained k20 isn't that important... i bought my k20a2 with 110.000 miles, bought it from a lady who rarely drove her ep3 type r hard , and was completely stock.. i fully built it (keeping it n/a) and swapped it in my 2005 em2 civic coupe, it now has everything possible done to it, has 269 whp, and gets daily driven hard! I now had it for 4 years, never skipped a beat.. but i change my oil & trans fluid every 4.000 km's , do the valve clearances every 3000 km's , and overal check the entire engine every 5.000 km... just good preventive maintenance...
If you want a frankenstein block (k20/k24) , best buy is the jdm K24A...
      - i also have different cams (dragcartel 2.2 endurance cams) if they have been installed correctly, with al clearances in mind , and buy a well known brand , you'll have no problems at all...
If you have any more questions , feel free to add my on facebook , we can talk and share pictures over there 😉

You have to get it barb. For detail info, visit ur dmv they will get in details with u. Basically u do a swap with any motor of the same or newer year, keep it identical as ur old one. 4cyl with 4cyl, 6 with 6 etc. Same made, honda with honda, toyota with toyota etc. U should keep everything as stock as possible, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, intake air cleaner etc, no jdm after marker bs ( until u pass). And any import motor will Most likely not pass smogged. Find a usdm motor. And find a shop that can actually do the job. I actually was closed to buying a 97 civic hatch with a legit b18 ls swap and got legal bar. We went to the dmv to check out the paper work to verify if its legit, and it is but i end up didnt buy it cause it wasnt up to wat i want. Car is nice has ac but no ps. No low end power at all. On paper the b18 ls version made 150hp, my accord k24 made 166hp, but in a civic shelf, the b18 was supposed to get way better weight to power ratio. My accord being 3500 lbs vs 2200lbs still prove to have way better low end power, acceleration, speed and rev better and has ps. The civic with b18 ls motor coouldnt move at first gear until i smash the pedal at 1st gear to over 4k. I barely tab my accord pedal at first gear , the car respond right the way. At 3k rpm the k24 make way more power than the b serie at 5, 6 krpm.

Hey man! Can you make a video on the K20C2...?
I bought a 2016 civic coupe 2.0 with a manual and really want to squeeze more power out of it N/A. I drive ALOT (I bought car brand new, over 40,000 miles in 2-1/2 years) and dont want to be bothered by adding more complex systems(turbo, etc)... I've seen a picture of the 1.5 turbo Piton shaft showing how thin it is compared to a #2 pencil..! I hope this isnt the case for the 2.0 N/A...
Also, I always hear about air flow for more HP, however with my stock air filter box, when I open it up i ALWAYS see a few grains of sand/rock.. I'm talking about TINY, however it is visible to the naked eye. If i were to put on a Cold air intake, or even a different drop-in filter, I can only assume those small particles I normally see on the bottom on my stock air filter box would end up in my engine... trying to be squeezed thru the oxygen/fuel line, into the combustion chamber, only to scratch the cynlinder walls thus shortening its life..? Is this a right way of thinking about Cold air/short ram intakes? I know interference type engines now-a-days have such small clearances inside the engine, requiring a a 0 weight oil..so i am sure grit can get stuck in those small gaps as well..?
Great video! Sub+like from me! Thanks in advance!
