I'd agree there. No keeper had his presence, or his intimidation factor. His command of the defence in front of him was second to none. Best of all, he was a superior shot stopper, and on top of that he would catch the ball instead of palming it away for the cameras like today's goalkeepers...
I went to his fist game at Old Trafford way back in 1991, it was Sir matt Busy's testional, And Paul Parker scored an own goal, buty Peter made incredible, point blank saves, from John Alldridge, and evyones that day looked around in the croed and said ' How is thi guy?' hahahah

The idea of a history lesson from Peter Schmeichel is, in some peoples eyes, enough to get an insomniac off to sleep. However I’ve always enjoyed listening to Peter. The fact he is still the greatest goalkeeper to play the game in one of the greatest teams ever put together makes for an endless amount of good stories and legendary status.
Let's be honest mate he really isn't the greatest goalkeeper.... Gianluigi Buffon is head and shoulders above him. He isn't the best PL keeper ever. Allison and Ederson are both better than he was.
I think Keane lives on his past experiences as a high level player. So he’s a great pundit as a result and says it like it is. Whether it’s accurate critique I dunno but it’s the reason he’s liked right? Says what he thinks, performed at a high level, won a lot.
Fantastic interview. One of the most fascinating episodes so far. Some very interesting insights into Peters life. Had no idea Peter was born in Poland. A classic example of the twists and turns of life - He could have ended up playing for Poland had the circumstances been slightly different. For me, Peter was the best keeper United ever had. The great dane !!!
Legend such a hero of mine growing up as a child in the 90s just a tower of a man!!
My favourite ever keeper !
Score you goals with his head and save us with his hands !
I like how Simon speaks generally, in terms of not being afraid to challenge people on "why" behind their opinions. I especially enjoy listening to talk Sport when he is on.
The interviews on here are also a good insight and again he challenges his guests well and doesn't allow nonsense.
Specifically on the Schmeichel's I believe both Peter and Kasper are two of the best goalkeepers to ever play in the Premier League.
Nice to see this channel grow. Love Peter Schmeichel.
Pleasure to subscribe. Great listen. Informed point of view every time... Whether I agree or disagree with you. Still intriguing as it's backed up with knowledge. And always pressing the guest on your views great pod... Look forward to hearing more 👏 congratulations on the 100k
One of the best keepers ever. An incredible personality 🇩🇰
These interviews are so good, long form and genuine. Thanks.
Nope, I'm a priest in the Church. Mohammed is not a messenger of Allah, he was a 7th Century warlord and a child abuser. I pray that you come to know the Triune God revealed in the flesh in the God-Man Christ Jesus. Now, what has any of that to do with football?@user-tn8uu2cu8g
Absolute legend! What a keeper, a true force of nature on the pitch!
Love, love, LOVE this channel! Keep em coming Simon 😊
Great interview, would have loved to hear about some of his top saves (there were probably too many) and 99!! GOAT!!!
