When Souness went to work for Irish TV it was eye-opening. We all had this wrong image of him as a bit anti Irish because he was ex rangers n proud of it.....but he was such an amazing pundit....very fair, frank and so insightful...that he quickly won the hearts of the nation... He also was amazed with what he could get away with saying on Irish TV which was more free flowing than in the beeb or itv.
I also remember him as the only pundit to question the trappatoni appointment for Ireland. Dunphy as usual jumped on the bandwagon much later.

However, it was way too short. For my liking. Simon, maybe you could schedule another episode with Graeme at some point? He has a very storied career. More details on his playing days and those that played alongside him.
And also more information about his challenges as a manager, would be interesting and justified.
Graeme, if you happen to read these comments, I urge you to try and stay in football media. I’ve always found you interesting and value your opinions. Please don’t disappear!

I watched many games when he was manager and despite the sun story, always supported him. He did inherit an ageing team though contrary to what he said, the team won the league in 1990 and he joined April 1991, and at the time were challenging for the league. He always admitted he made too many changes but people do forget he did also bring through some very good young players. A legend in every sense!

The world is a better place for people like Graeme Souness and honesty!
I watched him as a kid and was amazed with his ability & natural leadership, he was my tutor as I learned the game by watching him. Fantastic interview Simon!🤙

It's just a great interview,Simon shows a decent humble knowledgeable side to his personality which I for one really enjoyed, I thought they hated each other after what went down at talksport but the mutual respect is there for all to see, great work guys-Deano- Hull
