  • 2024 T20 World Cup, Day 28, final preview: India v South Africa
The big one is here... India and South Africa! It's the right final too, with these teams the only two in the competition not to lose a game. But there's so much more to it than that. For the Proteas, this is the first time their men have made a World Cup Final. As for Rohit Sharma's side, nobody needs any reminding what happened in Ahmedabad last November. Geoff Lemon (in Barbados) is with Adam Collins to consider how well these teams match up - what a decider this has the potential to be. #t20worldcup #t20worldcupfinal

Dubey is the Yusuf Pathan of 2011 WC squad. Lesser technique against pace but more muscle power against spin, than others
In 2011, India dumped Pathan for Raina well in time, before the knockouts. Is it too late now, to make Yashasvi/Samson enter the tournament in the final, is the question.

@@udias007Kohli is doing his job perfectly. Kohli is like Warner, Buttler or Maxwell, even when they are not firing, the opposition is afraid of them. Samson or Jaiswal don't have the same effect yet.
Dube is the same, according to a lot of pundits, Aus didn't bowl Maxwell because Dube was at the crease. Nowadays the oppositions have that matchup mind set and don't assess the situation on it's merit. Dube being a left hand batter means that the opposition stops using certain bowlers.

He has scored 171 runs in the 7 matches he has played, average of 24.4 runs per match. This i feel is not a good score for a number 3 batsman.
In the SF, he got a good rollicking from Rohit for throwing away his wicket the way he did
In previous match, Kohli had a go at him for way he went out cheaply.
So, up to him now to show he can score more for the team in the most important match today.
If he gets out cheaply again, he might not play for India again in a T20 i match as many are waiting to replace him especially if Gambhir, a no nonsense person becomes the head coach.

Btw, i sure you know a completely different T20 team going to Zimbabwe for bilateral series in July.
So, replacements are not a problem for Indian team especially in T20 format.

India should get Yashasvi in place of Dube and make him open. Kohli plays the floater with No 3 being his default position and goes down if wickets don’t fall in power play. India will thus solve the Dubey problem, as well as the Kohli one. Can’t drop Kohli for sure ❤
