- 2024 T20 World Cup, Day 27, second semi-final: India v England
It wasn't the biggest margin, but it was an outclassing in all departments. India ran the game in Guyana, seeing off every challenge with enough versatility to brush off England. Rohit Sharma led the way again, while Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah continued to be unhittable. Another final beckons. Matt Roller joins Geoff Lemon. #t20worldcup #indveng

Just a small thing: cheers to Rod Tucker who went past Aleem Dar to become the one who has umpired most world cup T20 games - without too much attention, as it should be.
Good call. Umpires, like wicket keepers, are often doing a great job when lack of mistakes is not always recognized or praised as excellence.
India are just too good. Hope the final is better than the semis.
GAME IS FIXED. JAY SHAH promised India will lift the world cup in 2024 3 months ago. ICC lay RED CARPET for INDIA with everything. WHOLE THING IS FIXED To make india win the world cup. BIG 3 plotting. England and Australia quietly left . NO ONE IS COMPLAINING about anything. STRANGE SILENCE. INDIA WILL CRUSH SOUTH AFRICA and beat south africa by 10 wickets.
If india didnt qualify, richest board unable to win trophies and if india qualifies/wins, the entire tournament is made for india😅😂 enough of these jokers, when they ran the world cricket they looted money meant for cricket developement in many african and asians countries and now speak as if true cricket lover😅😂
Yeah its honestly a bit rich that the English say some of the things they do India by no means are saints but the British have no right to criticize anyone
Surely both things can be true? England are always happy to criticise when we've hardly have a good history. But the game is shaped in India's image. Games all at the time India TV audience is maximised, India knowing where they're playing their semi before the tournament. The tournament in WI rainy season to not overlap with the IPL.... India are the best side and should win, but the tournament has undoubtedly been scheduled to suit them, but that's hardly the players doing. They are a fantastic team and deserve it @@neevmadlani1706
I’m an Indian and want South Africa to win the final. Come on SA

England should start importing players from other countries again... Time is up for English local players...
Already doing . Check the team sheet . Its more like a commonwealth Team
England almost won this cricket world cup, I am amazed of how good they are at any sport they try their hand at. I am almost certain they would win the Euroes too smashing everyone along the way... absolute aces and its almost unfair the amount of talent they possess..... its coming home again lads !!
As an Indian I doubt! In general at athletics we are pretty bad. It’s not that there is no money in athletics in idnia.
I hope that was sarcasm.

@@nachiketpatil9338 Just read on how medal winning boxers were treated in India. Its not about money, its about exploitation and dirty politics that gets played at administrative level.
@@dashmeetsingh9679 Don’t believe media on everything. The wrestlers case was a fake case. They gave zero evidence and details were made up.
Even after 10 overs, the ball that Rohit got out on kept so low. In Hindsight, I think we now know that fielding first was not the best option.
Pitch stayed same for both side. It didn't change for England at all and indian bowlers are in different planet right now. So it was obvious that England batsman struggled.
It's very hard to pick the pitch before play start in those conditions and I don't think Buttler was wrong but india was way ahead of them in every aspect of the game.
@@hiteshgujarathi4636 I did NOT say pitch changed for England. I said after 10 overs, it showed that ball stayed low.
@@Harshalcv11 I agree with you. Why I mentioned is because you said that fielding wasn't best option but it would have been impossible to predict that since pitch was in cover.
And Buttler might have thought after first innings, pitch could change but that didn't happened. That's why I mentioned it, and I think he didn't make mistake by choosing to bowl first. They were outplayed by Indian bowler who are in scary form.
'belting ina moral and spirirtual sense' 😊😊
India is on a roll. Sa will have to do something miraculous to get over the line. Indias spin trio is too good and bumrah is just looking like a million bucks.
Well didn’t we see a miracle on Nov 19? Let’s not get too cocky or confident. India favorites but they don’t have a batting that’s firing barring Rohit, Sky and Hardik
@@saurabhb1041 india is a better team than sa in these conditions. It's not over confidence it's just stats
@@TruthPrevailz India was a far better team than Australia in any condition last World Cup. We know what happened. Again, stop getting too far ahead

@@saurabhb1041australia was always going to be difficult to beat. We had a close win over australia in the group stages of the 2023 World Cup. The pitch prepared for the finals was a poor, slow track where the ball sticks to the ground. Indian team should not have asked to prepare that pitch, as whoever bats second will have a big advantage. Our batsmen were playing some careless shots, like rohit giving away his wicket when things were looking good.
I'm just happy, the match happened. Last thing I as an Indian fan wanted was going to final without semis. The match happened, Bowling was good, If butler or salt had stayed They would've made it a strong match.

Nah it would have been fun seeing Ind go through without match happening. The english meltdown would have been treat to watch.
@@dashmeetsingh9679 it would've been but this one side victory is much more sweeter
English have just one outrageous batting talent in Brook, India have at least three ..Rohit , SKY and Pandya
That’s silly. England have Buttler and Salt as well.

Thanks for your well thought out comment
Shocker to not send India into the field after winning the toss from Buttler. He learned nothing from Australia bowling first and bringing India’s spinners into play in the 2nd innings. Hope he resigns as captain (but stays in the team). And hope Mott goes away well.
There was logic to the decision. He was hedging his bets as often when it rains you don’t know how the pitch will play and setting a target can be tricky. Also England like chasing
Eng cant play spin. UAE, India and Carribean, these are spinning venues where England had worst WC. The wins came on Eng and Aus pitches. It surely is a telltale.
@@dashmeetsingh9679 firstly we won the T20 World Cup last time it was in the Caribbean in 2010, and secondly the way Kuldeep and axar bowled on that wicket I think most teams would’ve struggled against them.
@@jacklowe3037 Fair point. I was more leaning towards the modern Eng players, hoped that would be clear from location of world cups, as that will give timelines.
2010 was long ago, back then even DRS wasnt standard.
DRS has affected how batters approach spin, as LBW from both angles (around and over) came into play.
@@dashmeetsingh9679 I agree in this modern post 2015 World Cup disaster era (which has been fruitful for us as a white ball side) we have tended to complete big chases on fast wickets or in day nighters as a result of the ball coming onto the bat and we have tended to struggle on slow low turners (Like the pitch in Guyana) and we could improve in that area. However still think Jos winning the toss should’ve batted first cos like Rohit said at the toss best time to bat is first innings powerplay and it will get tougher to play on as the match progresses and the wicket gets more worn. And I also congratulate India for a complete performance from top to bottom, totally outplayed us and deserved to win. I won’t lie I’m rooting for South Africa in the final because after all the semi final pain id love to see them get the ICC world event monkey off there back. But I think India have a great chance of winning the final.
Really liked the tone of the show

Good job 👏
Thanks a lot 😊
They say batters carry thier favourite pitch everywhere they go. Bairstow carries Ahmedabad pitch whenever he plays against axar
He is far, far from the only batter to struggle against Axar who may well be the most underrated player in the world
Now these former ( England) players mouth will be shut for some time unless they find a brilliant excuse.😂😂
They've had pretty decent success in the past few years
@@FinalWordCricket yes, but the disappointing thing is their complaining nature, they did this all the time , finding excuses, blaming pitches or conditions. A true champion team should win in all the conditions.
Well that ended well
There is only one batter in england team now😅
England bowling par for the course, so no surprises there. Fast, furious but guileless.
India should swap dube for sanju samson or some other right hand batsmen in form
No we need him for Maharaj
Also I doubt the winning combo would be changed in the final directly.
No one in their right mind will make such a change at the last step
@@speed0383 exactly.
@@speed0383 dube is looking completely out of form, and not ready to face top pacers. A top right hand batsmen needs to fill in the gap to make Indian team stronger. Every batsmen counts. We only have 5 proper batsmen, and many get out quickly, so it’s important to have 6 proper batsmen in form
Indian team needs to go out and play without baggage. Have fun on the ground and stick to the basics. SA will present a formidable challenge , just focus on what you can control and don’t let the occasion overwhelm you.
Easy game when you put it like that
I had high hopes from england as an indian team supporter. you won the toss. England is so similar to India I feel, when they perform they perform really well and when they don't they are not found for years, until they rise again. Aussies are the only team that is consistently annoying and difficult to beat or give a fight everytime, for both England and India. So I guess we have that in common.
Spin, spin and spin - thats where English cricket dies.
@@dashmeetsingh9679 same for aussies. but depends on the pitch.

Jos Buttler seems incapable of learning though, which is the most worrying bit.
Every DAY, a team would lose chasing in a day game (to a non-associate). Every day Jos Buttler would win the toss and bowl 1st. To me it tells me of a team that is so far removed from reality, that it is worrisome.
The only game where England batted 1st, they got 122 in 10 overs!
India had the advantage in the fact that they knew where they're playing semis, which I know is a big advantage.
However, I don't see why a difficult pitch is a problem. In 2022 Adelaide the pitch was flat, which gave England a big advantage who were used to that, and similar thing happened in 2024. Pitch wasn't flat in 1st semi-final either.
Why is that an advantage?
Any team that has moeen Ali, Livingston & Bairstow in their teams deserves to get whacked....this was an innings defeat in a test match context
I mean we too are carrying Kohli and Jadeja for free so far. Either they pitch in on the day with the bat, or it's gonna be tough.
Either case. An SA win would also be quite a moment for World cricket so it's a win win for Indians who love cricket.
@@advitiayanand5974If India lose in the final, it would be a massive LOSE moment for Indian fans as it means India would have lost to every major nation in ICC semi’s/finals (Australia, England, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, South Africa, West Indies)
@@harifederer so then maybe start caring about the sport more than nationalistic pride. From a cricketer enthusiast's pov, this is an epic clash. India is not the centre of the world.
@@harifederer apologies for the rudeness. It's actually pent up anger i have for the bcci and the level of corruption they've introduced into the sport.
If any of aus or new zealand had the kind of money India has, they would've been winning every single trophy. But here bcci is just milking the sport and not trying to invest in its growth.
@@advitiayanand5974 I’m sorry but I don’t agree. Sport is an emotional visceral experience. As fans, we are passionate about the team we follow. As an Indian fan, South Africa winning is not a win for Indians at all. You have just eluded to being angry that India have not won more yourself.
I also think the BCCI is an easy target/scapegoat for people to blame their Indian team woes. It is simply untrue that they are not growing the game. India are the most global touring side in the world, many boards rely on them for revenue and if it isn’t for them, test cricket would probably already be dead in many countries.
I think all the experts and pundits usually considered why many team want india to bat first, obviously conditions aside.
It is because india team is literally the best in chasing
One of the major reason is kohli.
He have like 99% record whenever he is around so they consider that and nowadays rohit set the tone and kohli chase it and that's it .
Many team surely fear that and consider that in the equation at least for a little
Actually thats true. Plus in T20, batting second is actually preferred. Batting first has too many unknowns. Kudos for Ind to up their game while batting first.
I think your stats may be inflated
Aus, Eng and Ind had easier scheduling to reach semis.
Eng only had to boss associate nations to reach super 8.
BCCI is not bossing around, it just getting treated equally to other two boards who are habituated to boss around on their terms.
Is it morally correct? Nope. Just like, singling out, one board
We're equally critical of other boards, and the ICC
English must get over the Adelaide hangover. That was a one off result. England have been crushed in ODI WC2023 by 100runs but we have forgotten it. This T20WC drubbing is as one-sided it can possibly be. England white ball team is aging, pitiful and in disarray. Further disasters are in store as 2026 T20WC will be held in Indian subcontinent.
They made the semi final and are still the holders. If that's pitiful, then the rest of the world are in a bit of trouble
@@FinalWordCricket Agree about the strong word but when all other teams are evolving over last 2 years(India, SA,Australia, Afghanistan even Bangladesh)England are static and carrying some nonperformers. Sam Curran,MoeenAli,Bairstow,Livingstone, Mark Wood should be immediately dropped and replaced by fresh players. Whether Buttler can bring some inspiring captaincy, I am not sure. If you lose to 3 test playing out of 4 faced your team is made up of wrong players and far cry from 2022 team.
68 runs is a massive margin in a T20 game. Love how this channel loves to downplay India's performance
Bit sensitive, mate?
@@FinalWordCricketSurely we are sensitive to Butler and his team but the media and English experts somehow never gave India a chance before the match.Lets agree that England is a flat track bully and would equally struggle on a nippy pitch like they have on turning tracks
