Hey Hillhome. I am excited for this playthrough! I think I started to play SDV this time around.... however I started watching the Rustic Ridgefarm series (1.5 update). I'm excited to watch you discover the new stuff in this update.
Watching this for fun while I have no access to Stardew Valley (sad) so I live vicariously through let's plays. I like that you're not one of the hardcore players, that you don't know everything, and you aren't looking to exploit things for maximum profit early game. (Clay farming, which is no longer possible unless you enable the classic mode in the options, is a cheat, IMO, so I'm glad to see you not doing that.) You mention in this video warping back and being unable to escape and passing out.... Yeah. Happened to me on this farm once because I didn't have the right tools to escape once when I warped back from an early expedition to the mines. (Once I have the first pack upgrade, I carry all my tools with me wherever I go, but before that, I only take my pickaxe to the mines, only take my fishing rod when I go fishing, etc.) So, not realizing that I'd be stuck when I warped back, I did that, and yeah, passed out. Fortunately, it was my first time passing out, so I got it for free rather than 10% of my money (up to 1000 g maximum.)
I will say it would have been legit hilarious if I had warped back and then passed out. I mean I'd have seriously laughed about that for a long time! But there are definitely other things in the series that are just as amusing but I won't spoil them - you'll know them when you find them haha. Thanks for watching and hopefully you can get back to playing soon!

Listening to this game in the background, I heard "Harvest an egg...three out of eight people." That's certainly a...thing...to hear. It took my brain a second to contextualize these as the unrelated statements they are. For a moment, this Stardew Valley run went rather dark.

Hi hill i am playing on the new farm layout and love it. If i could give you a suggestion dont chop all the trees because u will need them for the moss which is hard too find. I found out the hard way after chopping all the trees around the valley and my farm
Yeah how does the moss work? Is it like shake a tree and it appears? Does it grow on the trees somehow? I saw it was added as an item but not sure how that one works.
The axe makes the least sense still to me as it would just... eventually chop down the tree haha. I think maybe a sword would be ok too then for no energy? @@myghostyttv

@@HillHomeGamingbro, the first time it happened. I literally spit-taked and made a damn mess of my drink bc the volume was maxed out (I didn't know it was maxed out), and cried. I cried bc of the mess tho😂, none of the coka cola went onto my laptop shockingly enough💀
@@HillHomeGaming I was thinking about this again and just took the time to pull up the wiki and do the actual math. It takes 100 points to get to level 1 (across all skills), and a tree (without the stump) is 12 points. Eight trees adds up to 96 points. Each stump is worth 1 point. So I must've either grabbed a forage or two, or hit a few stumps along the way. Eight trees and one forage will definitely do the trick - forage items are worth 7 points each.
@@amypetty5013 Getting level one forage day one is always a goal for me so I can make snacks from tree seeds so the actual number of trees is really good to know.
Same! Foraging is my top priority skill in the first week. And I've gotten to where I nearly always play with SVE's Immersive Farm 2 installed. Between that and the extended woods, trees are something I never have to worry about being short on.

Listening to this game in the background, I heard "Harvest an egg...three out of eight people."
That's certainly a...thing...to hear. It took my brain a second to contextualize these as the unrelated statements they are. For a moment, this Stardew Valley run went rather dark.
That's graveyard keeper levels of dark lol
1.6 I can't believe it is here can't wait
I was a bit surprised it's so early in the year! I was thinking more June or July. Very exciting!
Eyyyy a new series ❤️🩹🤩🤩🤩
Yay! Celebrate! Lots of fun changes in 1.6 for sure.
@@HillHomeGaming I was playing along side you I remember in the 1.5 series but now I don't play stardew all that much BUT I LOVE watching ur videos 🙌😙👌
Well thank you that is very kind! If I had more time in life I could do a second game but gosh life is just... busy haha@@_man0_0
10:52 seed prices are based off of the seed sell price (with the exception of sunflower seeds)
That was a surprise to me! I really didn't expect seed prices to also be lower haha. I mean it makes sense - I just didn't expect it.
Don't forget. somewhere there is a new forage item. Moss. I myself have not found it, in my new gamplay.
Based on the more or less accidental checking of things in the (now almost over Mixed Seeds Challenge) moss is used for quite a lot of things!
Believe it or not my very first wurm i dug up gave me an ancient seed. I was dumb struck. That was the first item i gave to Gunther.
That is absolutely awesome! It is not very often that happens. Plus then you can grow ancients seeds all year and they are worth quite a bit of farming XP.
Time to binge 👀
Well hello new friend! I hope you enjoy there's a lot to watch haha
I decided to restart this series lol I think I made it to episode 30ish but then life got crazy and now I just wanna catch up lol
Sometimes life getting crazy is good and sometimes it is not - so I hope it wasn't horrible!
It’s the middle of the night and I needed to calm myself down from a panic attack. I put on this video and I am honestly doing a bit better
Well then I am glad it helped. Panic attacks are no fun I've had a couple.
@@HillHomeGaming thank you! The panic attack was because I couldn’t find my favorite plushie, but I found it in the morning
@@HillHomeGaming it grows on the trees trunks and you use a tool too get it off
Which tool? I shouldn't think the axe...@@myghostyttv
@@HillHomeGaming you can use any tool you want but i use the scythe as to not waste energy
The axe makes the least sense still to me as it would just... eventually chop down the tree haha. I think maybe a sword would be ok too then for no energy? @@myghostyttv
We are so back.
Anyone else who’s new searching desperately for the mouse then realized there wasn’t one?
*whispers* what mouse
got a lot of catching up to do.
Well the upside of YT at least is that they videos are there for a long, long time so don't feel like you have to rush. Just enjoy when you have time time :)
1.6 Hype!
Hype and Tiredness. It's seriously the busiest couple weeks of work for me in the entire year right now lol
Yaaaay!
The blue grass is certainly interesting!
Gotta check the trashcans!
Mmm as long as one doesn't explode and give me a lid again. That is always very startling for me.
Good thing too that is really hard to clean out! I had this happen in one of the older videos and I jumped IRL haha@@abluerainbow
Trees to get to level 1 = 8. I actually counted one day.
That is without stumps I will assume since stumps give very little XP so most people skip them early (even tho now they don't still drop seeds!)
Your voice sounds like guybrush threepwood
I mean those games are iconic but I wouldn't call my voice iconic lol
Is it just me misremembering or didn’t Lewis meet you at the station and took you to meet Robin?
Honestly I am not sure
Cant spell Rustic with out Crusti
haha it's true though I never thought about it that way before.
Hey Hill! I watched your 1.5 playthrough a while back and was just thinking about you so decided to look up if you had a 1.6 playthrough, cant wait to enjoy this journey you are about to go on!
(Also a quick note, for some reason your voice makes me think of @goodtimeswithscar (thats a massive compliment comming from me as i love his content) and you have the perfect voiceover voice, good luck!)
Cool, thanks! Also hi again - hope you enjoy the hilarity of the new series. I don't think we've had anything as high level DERP as the sandfish incident yet....
Ahh 1.6 content so soon! Lovely 😌 🫱🏻🫲🏼
It is very exciting!!
