He was heavily criticized when managing Rangers because he wasn't able to put them straight back into the top flight or win enough trophies but history will see McCoist as the man who took charge of team affairs when nobody wanted to be there.
And will be remembered as a top class striker and a top class man
As a Celtic fan I can't disagree with any of that. Top goalscorer in Europe 92 and 93, first player to do it two years on the bounce. For anyone too young to remember his playing days he was a brilliant finisher, really outstanding.

I blame David Murray for most of it but Craig Whyte fanned the flames. The fact Murray sold is for a pound (allegedly in my book) shows how desperate he was to offload us to save his steel business

They will always be the Team that started as Sevco Scotland FC 5088 when they got a temporary licence to play Albion Rovers in the Alba Cup. Then the second name change to The Rangers FC upon being granted their long term licence. A new club that had to buy the assets of the club that used to play there so they could be a passable enough tribute act for the shaved apes to kid themselves on that they didn't let their club die after saying they wouldn't 😂😂 Hope they enjoy their little fluke because another decade of dominance is on the way for Scotland's most successful club Glasgow Celtic. Unbroken history. And we will never forget the glorious day the real Rangers died and justice was done 😁🍀🍀

Ally McCoist is my favourite match commentator by far. Always so positive about the game and doesn't utter "that was poor" or "he should have done better there" every 30 seconds. He points out the amazing things players do on the football pitch, unlike most commentators who just treat a remarkable bit of skill as a standard 5-yard pass, or blame someone else for not preventing that bit of skill taking place ("he got beat too easily there!" - Gary Neville or Jamie Carragher). I genuinely enjoy watching football when he's on commentary and hope he gets even more exposure. Negative analysis is fine after a game, but during the game, I want to enjoy it in a positive manner, not choosing to believe that these remarkable footballers are all a bunch of Sunday league players, which is what most commentators would have you believe.

Ally definitely deserves credit. Even when we were doomed to play in the lowest tier in Scotland we were getting 40,000 + at home games. Ally and the fans didn't do walking away. That's why "55" is so sweet.
