The 2010/2011 Barca side played the most electric football I've ever seen.
And most Idiot barca fans thinks it was 2008-09 cause they won sextuple. 2011 was greatest football ever played in the field by far.
tbf...2008 team was little better man to man...but the entire setup, the intensity and style of play was superb in 2010/11....
They were better than the current side. AC Milan also played some exciting football.
@32 Sense
Nope. Most thinks 2008 ( Eto, Messi, Henry ) were peak of pep site cause they had treble and sextuple. Compare to 2011 they lost copa to Madrid. Most goes for numbers instead of looking at actual quality. 2011 barca wouldn't needed Luck against Chelsa in semis like 2008. They would be demolished that Chelsea team like they did Mourinho's Madrid to 5-0.
Ok, anyways..
I have to agree with Sir Alex on this one, Pepe has not just been a world class center back for the past 10 years but has also been a world-class coach behind the scenes ,all props to the guy.

@Twisted Minds yeah that's what I thought

any wonder that Messi hasn't won a Champions League without them? He hasn't won an International tournament either, and they obviously don't play with him there either.
@@kiriakoz okay penaldo fanboi
@The Handsome Guardiola Maybe because both are old, you can't expect them to perform at their prime, however Ronaldo does have more credible claims to trophies in different leagues with different players around him, Ronaldo won the European Cup as well, how about Messi
@@kiriakoz UCL is won by a team not an individual. No team with individual performance wins it. Go and check history. It's always the team that plays well that wins. Not individually won by even best of players like Messi or Ronaldo
He was in a United team that were great with or without him. Then from Madrid, went to a Juve team that were on their 10th consecutive league title or something like that. I really hate the argument that Ronaldo has done it in other leagues. By that reasoning you should rate Zlatan higher than anyone else

The man that made man united the force they are during almost 3 decades
Players come and go but still built team season after seasons and win again..
The Great Sir Alex Ferguson!
Best manager ever. Won the Cup Winners cup against Real Madrid in Gothenburg in 1983 and created the ‘ new firm ‘ along with Dundee United that broke the duopoly of Rangers and Celtic.
You mean this struggling Aberdeen?? I didn't know thanks for the information.
he didn't win the champions league lol, stop spouting rubbish. It was the cup winners cup, basically a worse europa league for teams that won their domestic cup competitions.

And if aberdeen could destroy anyone then why didn't they play in the european cup?

“I don’t think he’ll ever replicate what he did at Barcelona” …. That one didn’t age well
He really hasn't in terms of numbers to be honest. He got the treble which is great, but no sextuple yet and still "only" 1 UCL at City compared to 2 at Barca. He won 14 trophies in 4 years at Barca, which is insane. He is yet to win 14 at City I believe and he's been there longer. The mad lad was winning more than 3 titles a year at Barca damn it.
Definitely he hasn’t, yes he has a great team now at City. But they don’t come near that Barcelona team of 2008-2012.
The current owners of Barcelona thought they could maintain the success forever. They didn’t appreciate how lucky they were to inherit the extraordinary academy system from the Cruyff era which produced Messi, Xavi, Iniesta etc. Those are once in a generation talents and you’re blessed if your club has one player of that level nevermind a team full of them like Barca had in 2009 and 2011.
and restoring that academy will take at least 3-5 years.
Bartomeu destroyed it... not just the club, but also the academy and the players.
Barca don't have owners.
It is owned by members.
It is like country's politics!
@@HenSt-gz7qj but I don't think
The same quality and quantity of great academy players they got in their golden era will ever be repeated
It was once in a generation
They will still get gems
But never a entire diamond mine again
It shows how much of an added value a good academy in your club is, and Guardiola knows that how important it is to maintain DNA in club. Phil Foden is a great example of when you give youngsters the trust to develop. Cruijff's long term mindset showed the Ajax team that were able to beat unexpectedly giants like Real (Cruyff stepped into structurally change Ajax after the 5-0 beatings by them in the years before) and Juventus two years ago.
Barca got stuck in believing they should win the CL every season to maximize profits, and started to think therefor they were able to buy the prizes. And forgot that they already had great players coming out of La Masia with the Barca DNA. For instance Thiago Alcantara was such a diamond as well, and Pep also recognized that potential while at Munich...
Barca dont have owners
Xavi and Iniesta were unreal🤞 What a duo
any wonder that Messi hasn't won a Champions League without them? He hasn't won an International tournament either, and they obviously don't play with him there either.
What's interesting is that for Spain, Xavi wore number 8 and Iniesta wore number 6 and at Barca it was the other way round!
@@kiriakoz I mean he hasn't won an international trophy because Argentina weren't on the same calibre of France, Germany, Spain and Italy. They should have won a couple Copa Americas on paper but Chile, Brazil and Uruguay are all great teams and had amazing squads for their wins.
@@kiriakoz yet been carrying them in la liga so stfu with the hate
@@kiriakoz Simple, every good player needs a functional team to win trophies. No player in football history has being so good to single handily win tournaments.
That Barça side absolutely dominated the game. The way they moved the ball and that chemistry, that understanding was just out of this world. Remember, they also laid the founding bricks for that World Cup winning Spanish side.
Was a shame Iniesta and Xavi left. They still had a few years left in them
So did bayern......for Germany
Yeah when Spain won I remember saying that Barcelona basically won the World Cup. Lol.
the most important player in the world cup for spain was clearly iker casillas, without his save against robben spain would lose the world cup final.

Way better teams than that Barcelona.
The greatest manager ever, then along comes Pepe, I guess you could say they are equally as great as each other
Please do NOT compare Pep to Sir Alex yet.
Sir Alex re-built Aberdeen from the ground up and won the Scottish League and European Cup Winners Cup beating Real Madrid in the final (that's also the last time Madrid lost a European Cup Final; 1983 to Sir Alex Ferguson's Aberdeen).
Sir Alex then re-built United from the ground up and then built 4 different world-class teams from the foundations that he built with youth players and winning with them. Sir Alex is the ONLY Manager to win 3 Premier League titles in a row and he's done it TWICE (1999 to 2001 and 2006 to 2009). He is also the ONLY Manager to win the Premier League and Champions League in the SAME season. Sir Alex also adapted to every challenger that came his way and I'm sure he would adapt to Pep and beat him too if he didn't retire. Here's proof: Wenger, Mourinho, Benitez, Ancelotti, and Mancini. All came and won a league or two, then Sir Alex replied back with 3 leagues in a row and a UCL. That's the greatest right there.
Pep after spending Billions bottled matches to Monaco Lyon Spurs Liverpool and then to Madrid within 2 minutes.
Pep inherited a Treble-winning Bayern team and could NOT even take them to the UCL final. Not to mention, Pep's legacy at Barcelona is built on FRAUD thanks to UEFA and the referees helping him vs Chelsea in 2009 and vs Arsenal in 2011:

@@andypandy4607 IMO it's much better to create a quality successor like a young ex-player, Ole, then to just go for the superstar coach of the moment. Say, if he went to United, then after Pep eventually got bored with dominating the Prem he'd leave for his next challenge and United would have to look for the next hot star coach or finally take on a young person related to the club, like Ole, they would just have delayed the inevitable. United is a club with culture, they can bring an ex-player who won titles, played under a World Class coach and have him coach them decently, City can't do that yet because they didn't do one fourth what United did in the 90s-00s. Only Ole comparison that City can have is Kompany, who is still weak.
@@RenegadeShepard69 right and wrong... right for getting an ex player to manage their former club cos it's a very underrated move, wrong in thinking City only have Kompany as future manager material... cos Fernandinho is the perfect man to replace Pep or at least be a future City manager at some point, if he retires or retains a player/coach role with City he should immediately be made Pep's assistant manager... you only need to see his interviews to know how tactically invested he is and always learning even now.
He's always looking to improve when he arrived at Shakhtar he was a high energy box to box attacking midfielder... he wasn't great at defending but Mircea Lucescu the manager and one of the best football philosophers of the last 30-40 years saw potential, he spoke to him about being a defensive player and from that moment started learning... he taught Fernandinho how to be a tactically aware defensive midfielder and how to turn his engine to his advantage in defence and properly read the game.
Since arriving at City he wanted to learn everything from the coaches in depth discussions about tactics and footballing styles, he has absorbed any advice like a sponge and debated with proper enthusiasm and always discussed tactics... he has the kind of enthusiasm Cruyff had with Michels and Pep had with Cruyff while still playing (I'm not saying he'll reach their level just that he'll manage) he had it when he joined Shakhtar too, and unlike a Vincent Kompany (who you cant rule out being a decent manager as it's early days) or a Roy Keane type who demand respect by their presence alone and tries to motivate the dressing room there's more to him, I'd be extremely surprised if Fernandinho isn't the first black manager to win the Prem and within this decade... obviously that's a strong statement but I've thought it for a long time, even while Kompany was still playing for City I thought he looks the best fit... personally I think he's already being groomed as Pep's successor or at least to be a future City manager but nobody is really catching on.
The way you say City has no managers from their history is very flawed in the last 10 years they've been quite dominant, some of those players would've picked up on the good and bad vibes and to fully comprehend how to be a manager... plus no Manchester United fan by 2004 would've picked Ole Gunnar Solksjaer in top 5 most likely former player to manage United post Fergie... maybe not even top 10 or 20 and if they said they did for top 5 they'd be a complete liar, he didn't even seem the type you'd think would be a manager to most and even former teammates have said that for club and country.
Great football managers are rarely the ones you think it will be it's usually the hard worker in training or the seemingly quiet one who is soaking up info in his mind, loads thought Souness and Keane would be colossal managerial greats cos of the managers who coached them and their leadership on the pitch but it's rarely the case.
Pep has almost made this league a one horse race. You can imagine how good he is.
@Angelo Mathews 3 titles in 4 years..
and only liverpool with full force and all their efforts were able to catch them while it feels city are consistent and calm and winning things.
Almost certainly they will win the league again.
Pep didn't make the league a one horse race. He was smart and joined the league only AFTER Sir Alex retired and after Jose left Chelsea in 2015.
His only challenge has been a tight-budget Liverpool and even they have WON the UCL before Pep at City.
Heck, Wenger never let Liverpool win the league But Pep did LOL
@@shahzadirani jose didnot leave chelsea he was sacked by chelsea. He had old style of play which didnot work in modern world.
@@shahzadirani you are desperately trying to prove pep midiocer🤣...but his records speak for itself. He turned mancity into powerhouse. He turned barca into best team ever playing football.
He will be better than sir alex in long time when he retires.
@@ayushghimire4323 yeah he was sacked.
Pep’s achievements with City in the Premier League I give him credit. Still failed in the UCL with City and Bayern.
But the two scam UCLs with Barcelona. No credit for that.
That Barcelona team gets meat ridden by the media and some of you fans. The fact remains that their play style didn’t guarantee a win. They needed the help of the referees in 2009 and 2011. They would not be called a great side if they didn’t Win those 2 UCLs so UEFA did their best to make them go through and they succeeded in 2009 and 2011 but justice was served by Inter in 2010 despite playing with 10 men.
And tell me honestly you remember the context of the ties vs Chelsea in 2009 and vs Arsenal in 2011. On both occasions, Barcelona were going out. In those moments the referee denied Chelsea clear penalties and in 2011 sent off RvP for nothing.
What a manager he was..
0:51 , The pain on Alex Ferguson's face when he says "Xavi & Iniesta"...
Ferguson was like all of us, never thinking that Pep would have a midfielder as good as Xavi or Iniesta again. How wrong we were
He didnt though. Them two were the greatest
Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets are without a doubt the best midfield trio of all time.
Maybe if Pep bad Yaya, Silva and KDB all in their prime I'd say they were better. But it's not even close even with KDB, Dinho and Gundogan in great form.
@@gurmukhsinghbansal479 De Bruyne is on their level, and none is anywhere near the greatest of all time
KDB is on level with Iniesta and Xavi easily
@@anzacxlag2606 That’s your opinion not a fact.
3 titles in 4 years
3 titles in 5 years . Respect.
He was right when he said pep might not be able to do it like he did in Barca
The big question:can Pep catch saf trophy number
Not and offense,just curious
Saf is on 48,Pep is on 31 currently
oh he most definitely can.
He said he'll manage 700 more games and call it quits as a manager. Don't know how much truth is in it though
By the time he finishes he'll have more
Most Probably if he continues to dominate football like he has for the next 20 years. But Pep has had all the money, staff of world-class teams and all the best players to work with. He's still one of the best Managers ever and currently the best in my opinion. But no one will ever top Sir Alex.
I'm sure he'll have more trophies but I think that won't change who is the goat... I think even pep agree with that.
Most of pep's are carabpa cups and copa del reays anyways 😂
Loool why is he calling him Pepe
0:41 Jim looks starstruck 🤣
One of the greatest football minds talking about another of the greatest football minds. What I’d give for a round table session with the likes of Sir Alex, Johan Cryuff (in loving memory), Jose mourinho, Arsene wenger and pep guardiola to name a few!
Could add Ancelotti, Conte, Benitez, Klopp and Ranieri to the chat.
Despite being a fan of Liverpool, i have respect for this old man... i mean, he single-handedly knocked the mighty Liver off their perch. i lost count of how many time his team lifted trophies... he deserved my respect even as rival.
It was in fact Arsenal who knocked Liverpool of the horse.
The only way to save Barca is to change the tactics. They don’t have the proper players to play possession football. Counter attacks will be their best option especially if Aguero and Depay go there. The Barca DNA bs is finished
Sir Alex is easily the greatest manager off all time
To be a fan of football is to appreciate football first, as a Spurs fan, loved Man U and Arsenal in there hay day, great teams, great players and great entertainment
You ain’t a real fan then.
@@pocolol8424 you must be short as the point went over your head
Pep definitely stopped Sir Alex winning 4 Champions league United were an excellent team but Barcelona were on a different level
It was more so the team than pep, even tho I think Utd should have won that 2009 game, didn’t play well at all
@@NotMe-el3hg disagree Barca deserved to win it. Chelsea should have beaten United in 2008
@@matthewdoyle3877 Barca should have been knocked out in semi final, refs on side. Also that 2008 final was 50/50 but United could have had that game wrapped in first half
@@NotMe-el3hg disagree. Chelsea had there chances , and without the penalty appeals should have won it, but didn’t get the goals. 2008 Chelsea battered United in final barring first half. Even with 10 men
three out of the last four... he’s learning nicely
Respect to Alex Ferguson.
I think now he’d realise that Pep can replicate and add to what he did at Barca.
i miss this man
"English football is not easy"
It has turn out to the his EASIEST challenge so far
Yeah because Pep is playing in an era where his only real challenger is a tight-budget Liverpool team. Even then Pep could NOT stop them from winning the league and Liverpool won the UCL before Pep did with City.
Let's not talk about his 2 UCLs at Barcelona. Everyone knows the scandals that went on for them to even reach those 2 finals (Chelsea 09 scandal; 2011 Arsenal RvP sending off; 2010 Inter Busquets diving to get Motta sent off But luckily Inter still went through with 10-men).
Mr Andy Tate called it long ago!: "I would have gone for Pep Guardiola, at least he brought a Barcelona style of play".
Underrated comment
Ferguson flew to New York to offer Pep the Utd job when he retired. He turn Utd down.
LVG & Mourinho had very specific styles of play, the fans hated it.
If Pep stops winning trophies at City, fans will turn on his style of play. That’s football fans, they don’t really know what they mean.
i always hate and still hate possession football aka tik taka, its boring as hell to see some those minions in the midfield pass the ball from one side to another and so it goes lol, i rather see long balls and long distance shots, a tall striker to mess it up defenders and all that madness that happrns when players fight to get the ball inside the box, its much more interesting that way!
I used close caption to hear this interview ...
Alex Ferguson: I’ve just killed your dog.
Interviewer: 🙂
Lovely to see SAF still healthy
This was a few years back
Biggest loss Chelsea ever had was failing to hire this man
He didn't come to Chelsea because of the sacking culture, prior to City he would only take small contracts and then add extensions so he wouldn't be sacked
