- This video from Learn Electrics shows you a reliable method to find the answers to exam questions quickly and easily. This video is just about part 5 of the wiring regulations. Part 5 exam questions make up a very large part of the 18th Edition exam and knowing how to find the answers is a must.
The 18th Edition : Amendment 2 exam is not about what you can remember
It is about you understanding how the wiring regulations book works
It is testing your ability to find an answer in the book
Following the methods shown here will improve your ability to find answers quickly and can help to improve your exam score. The method is explained and demonstrated by using sample questions, where each step is fully explained, from question, right through to the answer.
We also give some advice on what you are allowed to take into the exam.

same for me Steve , I've got a course on Wednesday no reg book till course joke , manage to get one off a mate and have followed the tips fantastic, 2010 was the last time I did reg 17th edition, The regs book still need a lot of work doing needs making a lot easy to follow , more page numbers next to reg would help specially contents pages , and some question you just have to guess as they don't give enough detail.
Same, went on the course and they did not teach about how to navigate the book. It was over two days of the instructor reading chapter after chapter which just blows your brain.

Great video once again. Ive been through the video listings and i cant find exam 1-4, of the amendment 2 exam, have you released these yet? Thank you.
Not done them yet Mr D. I haven't done them in number order. A few chaps had been struggling with part 5. If you go on the website and type Amendment 2 into the search bar you will see all the videos relating to Amd 2. There's about 4 or 5 on there. Thanks for the support. hello mate, it is very useful channel actually, i just wanna ask if i want to take the exam without attending course is that possible(by only self study?)
shall i buy the BS7671 18th edition book on my own or it is included when i book an exam & what are the centers you recommend the most for taking exam?thank u so much in advance
Ask around at exam centres at colleges near you. Some allow exam only, some don't. If the book is included in a course, you usually get it the day of the course or exam which is no good to self-study.
Personally I would recommend doing a three or four day course, buy the book long before the course starts and watch all of our Amendment 2 videos. Good luck.
So that means we can’t used sticky slips in our books for exam or is it allowed ?
In the video I say that sticky slips or Post-Its as I call them can be used. But if you put too many - and I've seen some books with over a hundred - how are you going to read them all quickly. They become self-defeating. I find it easier to use the contents pages. Dave.

I know i find it hard to Read C&G questions, i got so far in to the Exam and PANICED .. i need to be better at find the Key Cores in the Questions. well because i paniced i got 35/60
My biggest F up is Chap 4 & 5 and 8 i got stuck on the word PROSUMER , not a word i know at all
Watch the videos again and do pause the video and work out the answer. Writing down the question and the answer is a sure fire way to improve your knowledge. Just reading the question is not enough. You must interact, so get the pen and paper out, write the question, write the answer, throw it away, write the question, write the answer, throw it away and keep doing this. I did that every year when I was doing my degree and getting ready for exams. It works.
Go to the website LearnElectrics.com and put Amendment 2 into the search box. You will get a list of direct links to the questions and answers videos. A little bit every day will get you there. A dripping tap fills a bucket.
