Two former NFL offensive linemen (Alex Boone and Jeremiah Sirles) team up with a die-hard football fan and media dweeb (Phil Mackey) for entertaining, informative, opinionated, behind-the-scenes discussions about the game -- from a trenches perspective! Спорт
The Lions love here brings me great joy. I have watched the Lions for 40+ years. I have seen some really ugly football from them. Ineptitude. Now they have a team. A WHOLE team. Other fans think this is the Lions, how can they be any good? But when I see real football people breakdown this team, the Lions are getting huge respect. After all the bad timess... it feels good to have a team I can be proud of.
darryl rogers was my favorite lions coach ! what a clown..
Still proud of yesterday's effort? At home. Against a team that got waxed last week...
@@bradleybrown8399Do you have a point here or are you just trolling? Of course I am deeply disappointed in that game. I think everybody is. But was an overtime loss. I am not ready to go all "chicken little" after one game. The defense has been iffy, lets see if that changes after this. The injuries do worry me as it diminishes the team by a lot, but they still have depth. Lets give it more than one week. I didn't crown them champions after week one, I am not going to condemn them after week two.
@@jppagetoo why yes I do. My point is that I saw a whole lot of people just completely convinced that the lions are on their way to the playoffs and are serious super bowl contenders because blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. People like you who come on and say I've been a fan for so many years and this is the first time that blah blah blah blah blah, just because they were massively overlooked in this first game of the season against the defending super bowl champions, who no doubt were in part to blame for not taking Detroit seriously. The Lions had nothing to lose, well, except for this game. Besides the Chiefs missing Travis Kelce and Chris Smith, and their receiver having an all-time bad performance, your heroes managed to eke out a one-point victory. Detroit is known as motor City, where cars were built for decades so perhaps the analogy is you guys need to pump the brakes a little bit, before you started fantasizing over a 10-win season.
The 0 and one Seahawks coming into town after being beat down, and pulling off the overtime victory was delicious. Me trolling you guys is just the dessert 🎂.
@@bradleybrown8399 If trolling is your fun, you won't get much joy from me. I am not going all ballistic on any opinion. But have fun, it seems like a big waste of time. Maybe you can find something positive to do instead?
It is so nice having Montgomery gash the defense FOR us instead of against us.
You could make the argument that Sean Mcvay didn't develop Goff and more so schemed him up. In Detroit he's shown some good development thanks to Dan Campbell and Ben Johnson. Once after Todd Gurley was done the Offense changed up and put Goff in a situation to where he couldn't succed. What Detroit has done is actually build a Offense around his strengths vs a wonder boy schemer screwing over his development and let the scheme dictate everything
Wonder Boy has a ring and lost another Super Bowl.
Mahomes passes were hurried and inaccurate, not uncatchable but low, high, behind and hard because of pressure. Receivers are covered..
Seriously? KC Receiver Kadarius Toney dropped passes that were right in his hands. Almost as if it was scripted. Which it probably was. Legal sports betting has made the Lions look like winners. Nobody bet on the Lions, which means someone in Vegas made LOTS of money!
@@kkelleybassahahahah scripted. So was the left tackle blatantly cheating which allowed mahomes to not be sacked by hutch on like 7 different plays also scripted?
When kc won it all last year, was that scripted too?
After 18 years of watching the lions now they can only win if it's scripted. Screw off.
@@nickgarcia1167YEAH
The only real explanation for not calling the right tackle for illegal formation or offside is, the league doesn't need Aiden Hutchinson ending Pat Mahomes 2023 season early, a la Aaron Rodgers. Hutch should have had 3 sacks in this game.
Im so glad you guys did this video!
The blocks Laporta made were hugh, true stud.
This was good guys. Glad I found ya... Thanks for the vid.
First time watching! Very well done video and analysis! Keep up the good work!
Honestly, Taylor kicking out super wide giving space for rushers to counter inside probably just gives Mahomes an even bigger advantage knowing how much he likes to roll out when there's no edge set to the pocket
That puts moving Hutchinson inside to rush the RG into context so much more. Knowing Taylor would be so deep and trying to take out the speed rush, allows Hutchinson to bully the RG, forcing them to pass block in space.
another great show! thanks guys! SKOL!!!
Someone pointed out to me that 74, gave the play away and that respect helped detroit read the play so therefore kept quiet about the illegal formation and false start. There was also an issue of holding but that can be called both ways..
More on the Chiefs, tho. I got in late in the 1st quarter after work and saw 2 holds against Hutch and a 3rd down scramble by Mahomes, with the ball trailing a yard behind him stepping out. Still no respect.
Hutch is relentless... just a beast....
I think its about time to give Fraley his praises. From day one.
I think he is regarded as one of the best OL coaches in the NFL campbell worked hard to keep him- he is the lone hold over from Matt Patricia staff
So I’ll start this way- some really good games this week BUT all I could think about was getting you all to em break down for us!!!
Lolz.
"might be back"? LOL this line has been good since last year
my first thought before watching is, What do you mean by back?" lol
Loving the podcast… more Lions coverage please 🙏
Earlier in the game, they lined up St. Brown as FB and asked him to kick out Karlaftis. Not saying it was pretty but he got the job done, which for a WR taking on a DE, that's good stuff.
But that's why the Lions love St. Brown, he's just a football player who also is really good at catching the ball.
Thanks guys great “unbiased” content. Lions got best OL hands down the film shows s/o Yosemite Sam 87 and ☀️ god 14 good blocking by non OL throughout the game it sets up their pass receptions cause the defense doesn’t know when they going to break after a chip or if they bout to pancake them like Sewell 😂 it’s gonna get ugly for the nfc hanks tanks baby!!!
Anytime I see Lions trenches I watch and click like 👍
The line ref is literally looking right at it 😂
Play action will dictate the pressure. If we got a semblance of a run game, goff gets exponentially better!
My goodness the narrative is still spinning out of control
@@adgee5401im curious, what narrative?
...3 things on that 3rd and 1 at 10:00 1. Mahomes faking a time out. LOL 2. Lions sell out to stop run w/out question it might be a pass. 3. #74 gets blocked -4yds back
Bro I'm so fed up...every time I'm scrolling through the wormhole of tiktok.. people just straight out says "oh Seahawks vs lions.. yea lions loosing" like they give no respect to the lions still.. really passes me off
I wanna know when in the hell happened with your boy JMS and the Giants O-line. I was PUMPED coming into this week after your video on JMS. Now I feel like it's the same old issue we've had for years!
Just saying we don't want the officials controlling the outcome of the game and I am a Lion's fan but it really worked for the Lions because it was so obvious whether they were running or passing due to the way he lined up.
Boone quote of the day:
"If you got away with it then you got away with it my dude"
Call me late for dinner. I swear itll be the last time. New sub.
What about the happy right foot all night? It's like he's doing the potty dance every pass play?!?!
Detroit vs Everbody
Hey guys you talked up Trevor Penning for the Saints and he had a subpar game how would you coach him up?
He was early if you had the down the line view the ball wasnt moving. Humphries may have been moving his knees, but he was not moving the ball yet on most of them.
Mahomes-Kelce is the same over reliance as Stafford-Megateon. Look at Goff dropping dimes everywhere to everyone!
Guess we will be in top form by the time we play the Lions. i hope.
Hey Mackey. Can you ask Jeremiah and Boone for Eliminator pics?
The best Football show in the world and a true breathe if fresh air in business full of MockingTurds passed off as Media Pros!!!
While I agree that some of the plays people say were false starts weren't, there were at least 3 times he clearly moved his outside leg before the center made any movement prior to the false start penalty.
Or where he never settled into his stance at all. It looked like he was tap dancing prior to the hike.
The NFL did not want the Chiefs to be embarrassed on opening night and banner raising night, so they scheduled a “beatable” opponent instead of the Eagles, Bengals or Bills.
...and like everything they've done for the last 10 years, it BLEW UP in their faces! If they weren't overseeing an absolutely can't-fail product, they would've folded by 2015.
yea right. l guess they sat jones and kelce to keep it close, smfh
As i lions fan i just thought it was about two exciting teams going against each other to kickoff the season
@@elevatedgame5794
That Thursday night first game of the season is a marque game every year for the NFL. They've never scheduled a barely .500, non-playoff team for it. It was a big surprise to everyone.
@johnboehmer6683 ehh i was kinda surprised but i mean detroit is one of the most exciting young teams in all of football who had won 8 out of the last 10 and has one of the highest win percentage since week 9 of last year
the lions was back last year with a 8-2 run to end the season.
We owned Rodgers last year too 😈
Homie on top looks like TimNotTheTatMan
*Technically* the guy's readjusting his stance, not false starting.
Chiefs are bringing back the flying wedge
About the illegal formation, the tackle has to break the line of the centres belt. How much, or is there a body part there? Is it the head or could he just stick his hand out and that'd do it? The sprinter-style line-up sticks his head forward so presumably it's that.
You can't blame him getting away with it on KC, it's not their job to enforce the rules. This was on the zebras all the way until the late 4fh and even then they didn't mention the formation, just the early get off. Looks like a zebra crew needs some downtime for re-eduation.
I wonder if that guy was so afraid of Hutchinson that he had to stay back to have any chance to block him.
He was terrified from the first play of the game when chiefs got the 🏈 and hutch danced on him and dang near hit 15 holding negated several sacks hutch could’ve had it was clear Detroit was not supposed to win per the script 😂
Scripted 😂😂😂😂. Did your mother have any children who lived😂😂😂@@mistaenvghettoface6064
Im stealing " Back Half of His Asshole " as a band name.
RB's name is Gibbs, not Gibson
KC was missing players. Detroit was missing players. KC players made bonehead plays, so did Detroit's. Both were equal.
If you think Kelce and Jones missing is the same as two average dudes on the lions, you’re delusional. Lions had chiefs at huge disadvantage.
But Detroit is expected to make boneheaded plays. Super Bowl champs like KC are not.
Goff 2 -Mahomes 0 - Why was KC allowed be offside/false starts all game.
Might be back...? From...?
The Lions are back?! When were they ever here?? 😄
We've low key had some of the best players to ever play the game. Megatron, Barry, Stafford are all HOF players. At one point our offense would have won championships on any other team (peek Calvin Johnson, Reggie Bush, golden Tate, with Stafford under center) Our coaches have always failed the team, til now.
@@whatisahandle_69 won't disagree about the players, but that's not unique to the Lions. Matt fuckin' Millen sure didn't help. What a disaster he was. Look, you won a game off the champs who pretty much didn't take you seriously. Personally, I loved it. But it's a little early to start selling playoff tickets. Better to keep your expectations low and fly under the radar. It's a long season. Best of luck to you.
@@whatisahandle_69 who failed the team on Sunday?
Please tell me how they are back when they scored 14 offensive points? Chiefs beat themselves
I guarantee if it was the other way Lions 20 Chiefs 21 you wouldn’t be giving the Lions the same energy..,It would be The chiefs won for you … If the refs called false starts on the chiefs,if the The Lions didn’t fumble ! #DetroitVsEverybody
Why the chiefs didn’t score more then 20 points then ?? Don’t blame the lions blame the Chiefs for only scoring 20 points
Two pump minimum.
Dumb question - what's it like breaking down one single play in a twelve minute video and then watching talking heads on ESPN and FOX gloss over entire games in the same amount of time? (If in fact you do watch the talking heads)
That is a false start. The center flexing his knees in preparation to hike the ball is NOT the beginning of the play. The center could flex his knees all day and if he don't move the ball, the play is not started.
jags will not let taylor get away with this, he used to play for Jacksonville and jags fans have pretending he doesn't do this stuff for a long time so that we didn't get called for it. NO way the jags d lets that happen to them
Might be back? Back from what?
The reason the Lions won, is because KC Receiver Kadarius Toney dropped passes that were right in his hands. Almost as if it was scripted. Which it probably was. Legal sports betting has made the Lions look like winners. Nobody bet on the Lions, which means someone in Vegas made LOTS of money!
💩 take
So the Lions didn’t drop balls or fumble in the red zone!!
Rumor has mahomes 0 for goff
Lets just be honest here. The chiefs beat themselves. How many dropped wide open passes did they have? And the lions only won by one point?! If tony didnt have bricks for hands, they would have won by 14
And the Chiefs lost by one point which is quite unusual regardless of Kelce...or is it Kelce not Mahomes? Mahomes is over reliant on one receiver. Stafford had the same addiction with Megatron.
How the lions beat the Chiefs. Chiefs missed 50M in salary cap on the field and still would have won if not for drops and losing Kelce two days before the game with no time to install a game plan.
Back? We were never there to begin with
Definitely need to put some respect on Goff name 🦁🩸
