As you know, I SoloQ A LOT. I've hit Immortal 2 strictly solo queuing, let's talk about that.
In this video I'll be going over 5 specific parts of playing Valorant as a solo queue player, and talking about my experience so far and what has helped me. In this video we'll be talking about Agent Selection, Teamwork, Communication, Positivity, and Confidence. Each of these aspects of solo queue will mean something different to every player. Some of us need to work more on callouts, while others need to stay more positive and upbeat during their games. My goal with this video is not to TELL you what to do, but show you what has worked for me and how you can model your own experience around mine. We all have very different experiences in this game, so my goal is you can look at my points in this video and figure out if there may be an aspect you can improve on!

Tip titles in order (and paraphrased):
1: Agent Selection (Pick agent that allows you to be self-reliant)
2: Team Play (Winning > kda; REFRAGGGG)
3: Communication (Have mic and talk to team; callouts; igl or In Game Leading)
4: Positivity (Don't be toxic; don't criticize m8s; accept that losses happen; light-hearted comments)
5: Confidence (Master 1-2 agents; trust m8s; warm-up & play every day)
Just wanted to post this for myself so I could come back and get a quick recap on these amazing tips before I play. Hopefully this helps someone else :)

Negazul what rank are y’all playing in lol
14:04 that is the truest statement I’ve heard all day
The point of positivity is probably one of the most important points, if I have toxic people in my team or if I get tilted, my motivation just vanishes and even if I try to perform good, I can't anymore

if everyone would play this way, the world would be perfect
Even though games would be closer and you would def not win as much, every game would be more fun and competitive
The tough thing about playing support agent at a low rank is the fact that your teammates only see kills as being helpful.
fr. as a sova main i don't top frag every game, but i get good info for my team. but my iron/bronze teammates still say i contribute nothing because im not doing entry and getting a bunch of kills like the duelists.
Hey, Kyle! I've been here basically since the time you started posting valorant content. First off, congrats on getting the Twitch partnership, bro. I gotta say man, you deserve it. The quality of your content has been rising higher and higher and I'm really glad to see you get the numbers you deserve. Dragons unite!
You stand out above most "coach" types on Val.
Here's why.
You walk us through your thought process step by step for each set of intentions you have. This is huge for getting people to follow along. Ive watched for 1 week now. Since ive watched ive climbed 2 ranks from diamond 2 to imm1. Reason why? Cause your methodical perspective reminded me to slow down and analyze my games.
I started watching my replays again cause of these videos and thats huge.
Thanks bro great channel.
Im so glad you're growing as a content creator! You def deserve it
Hey man, I've been watching for months now, and I just want to say congrats on the sponsor bro!

The positive team is soo true... I played with a duo q and the one game I queued with such a chill team they all bought for each other called out(not great callouts, I am iron) and were making jokes and teasing each other when we were speccing we won 13 4 the next game my team was toxic and I couldn't get kills... Because my brain was so focused on the toxic guy that I couldn't get kills
Mute the toxic kids
Another great video, thanks for helping us out! Keep up the great work, you're killing it!
Thanks for the videos dragonmar! These videos are definitely helping me improve
How to rank up in any rank : fck your rank just play the game and improv , but the most important thing. Have fun.

Hey man , The first tip @ 4:13 was everything I needed. I was playing Cypher on Solo Queue at Iron. No teammate ever responded when I revealed the opponents' position. I really enjoy playing Cypher but anyways gonna try Omen or a duelist

Love what you said about jack of all trades. Was hard stuck gold 2 as your typical jack of all trades, made a new account where I insta-locked Reyna every game. Got to Plat 3 and I’m currently sitting at Plat 2 on it.
@dragonmar thanks for these videos! I’ve finally been able to climb from silver to plat in a month :D
you're one of the nicest and chillest people to listen to when it comes to guides. all of these tips are actually helpful and make a lot of sense! communication in game is a little tricky for me because i'm a girl, and usually won't talk until i'm doing somewhat decent, in fear of people trolling or stuff. but i guess with more confidence, i could just try to just trust and go for it, make more callouts no matter what! you're inspiring.
love your tips!
A lot of the way I climbed solo queue in League is what I am trying to emulate in VALORANT and it by and large does work. I take a break after 2 losses in a row to avoid tilt, I try to remain positive in every game and just try my best to win every round and every game, and I try to play with the confidence that my practice is helping me improve at the game. Overall I have seen some success and am now consistently at/around my peak rank (Silver 2/3), the next step is climbing!
Thanks for the video!
100% The right way of doing it.
Fax Idk why but yesterday I lost a game where I tried my hardest and went 33/14 and I lost the next game because I was not feeling it idk why but when I feel “sad” I always stop playing after I lose 2 in a row for at least like 3 anime episodes

great video man.
I would like to say that killjoy and sova are also great self sufficient characters for solo q. I solo q with kj and reyna only but the few times I've had them be picked sova was my next choice. Just because you can have minimal communication like "leave me and pheonix alone on site" (as kj) or "hey can you peak this after I recon?" (As sova) it's very simple to give basic commands and still be self sufficient. As he says, communication is in fact key. I always enjoy taking lead as well when no one else is. I would also recommend watching videos from pros for your agents. For example, I've learned a lot from c9 keeoh with kj. I've taken a few tips from average jonas (forgive me if that's spelled wrong) and I forget the name but I've watched a few videos on general solo plays with reyna (since I already have a good idea of how to play with my team as her.)
The corporate valorant stuff like chair height, mouse pad, good job
just joking XD
Great explanation for psychological states in valorant while dealing walls in ranks
Great Vid!!!!
Congrats on the sponsor, I can see my mistakes now, getting a mic right away, and I'm getting out of silver right away.
bro how did u get out of bronze i solo queue and i cant get out:(
@@scentedquack5054 I strive for consistency honestly
I also solo queue and I'm really close to Gold 1 right now.
I try to be positive with the team, I try to IGL when no one is and communication is pretty important. Also cause low elo fundamentals is the main thing that matters so, crosshair placement, counter strafing, positioning, I mostly focus on those instead of macro strategies
Ayy my man got a sponsor! Nice.
Why even sign up for some classes or rank improvement guarantee program when you got dragonmar
Hi, I started playing Valorant a couple of months ago and I'm currently a Silver 2, I used to have a lot of trouble whenever I solo-queued and If I have the right to give some advice to those lower than me, please find a teammate that understands you and your playstyle and then add them after your solo-queue. This heavily improves your team since you will learn how they play as well. I just need help on one note, since silver is considered a low ELO rank, many players in silver still don't take the game seriously and they despise any tactics that I bring forth. Their usual answer as to why they don't care is "This is Silver, not immortal or diamond where you tryhard". I try to take the role of IGL but nobody cares in Silver and they always end up muting me whenever I do the things required to be an IGL. Ex. Callouts, Rotation Callouts and basically anything that requires you to use your mic.
Can we get a smokes guide for pre and post plant? A lot of players dont know how to efficiently smoke
Thank you bro I climbed from iron 1 to immortal 2
no way what
Great tips! I can’t find my perfect agent :/. I try to main cypher and sova because I like Intel, but end up playing too cowardly when my aim battle skill is actually pretty good. So I think Omen and Skye should be my main. Any thoughts?
ok he got the raid sponsorship, hes a big time ytuber now
That moment when you're in attack and your duelists are scared to push but when you're in defense, your duelists are killing themselves
Congrats for the sponsor 🥳🥳🥳,I think at higher ranks at least you should master one champion per class, cause it would be easy to understand and counter the roles weakness and stuff
Congrats on the sponsor you deserve it. Do you think it's possible to rank up in solo queue if valorant's voice chat is disabled in my country? I've been hesitant to solo q due to this. Thx again
What country is tat??
As a cypher main I struggle a lot since cypher requires a lot of team coordinating and giving info to teammates. I have to rely on them on certain ways. At the same time I try not to pick Phoenix since there’s always that Jett and Reyna insta lock and I don’t wanna have bad team Comp.
I fit ur description of the igl very well, and when I be the igl and my teammates listen, we win. However, my aim is trash. I have great strats, I make callouts, I have good movement, etc., but my aim is trash, and so more often then not my teammates don't listen cause they say I'm trash at the game, and so I lose lots of games. I really want to improve my aim, and I've tried aim trainers, but they don't really work for me, and I don't particularly enjoy them, so if u have any tips for me to help me improve, they would be greatly appreciated.
I just came to this after losing my rank to a 4 stack that I queued with that randomly decided to completely throw even though we were only 4-6 down...
thanks for this, i always play with friends and not all of them are good, we play to have fun. recently i just tried ranked just to help my friends clear their placement unranked to atleast bronze, but we didn't do well, friends got criticized in chat wasnt pleasant at all. even in unrated, the game is cool and fun, just the skill level diff and toxic try hard players ruin the experience.
I always got a tip to never solo queue and now i got this video i hope this is helping me
so far with my time playing this game I've been getting better gradually with some hurdles ofc and so far its kinda be like this..
Beta: Started iron 3 ended in d1 (the troubling part for me in beta was I wasn't confident since i come from console and i had gotten my pc a few months prior to valorants release and i wasn't really playing on my pc since the change from controller to m&k is hard at first to force urself but ive gotten used to it since then)
A1:Started silver 3 ended in d1 (the hardest part for this season was i went from playing raze only to playing sage and my mindset was i want to be a healer, I come from overwatch on console,so i was playing wayyyy to passive and that was something i didnt figure out till i got towards the end of the season... during this season i was stuck in plat 3 for the most part)
A2:Started gold 3 ended in plat 2 (not much to say other than my consistency was super bad i wasn't playing as much as i should and i was getting to frustrated because of the setback so apart of me was giving up but i really wanted/want to get to immortal and work my way up the ladder)
and now here we are Act 3 i started in plat 1 and now im currently D2 this is my highest rank so far and im fairly close to d3 probably 2 more games ive been playing alot of sage since for some reason i can frag really well with here and i just feel alot more confident with myself when im playing her,ive also been dabbling with skye and i mean i dont frag with her honestly i need alot of work with her i mean i get some use out of my abilities but compared to people my rank im terrible with her LMFAO but im really going to try and hit immortal this season so ive got alot of work to do
P.s sorry for all my typos im in class and honestly its really boring man
i’ve came from console overwatch too but i just got a pc and i’m s1 in one week hopefully i can hit gold soon
@@csk4428 ay u got it man! And hey if u ever need some help with anything add me on valorant MidnightE#11232
One thing I learnt is just apologize even if your teammate made the mistake... He/she will often say nah my bad and then no one has been targeted and you guys are supporting each other mentally
Yh, I do that a ton, and it works so well
i know this is an old video and im not expecting a response, but do you think its okay for a new player to try every character before deciding on a main? or should i just stick with the few ive already gotten and decided i like. i just started playing a month ago and so far im really liking viper and yoru, but i also havent tried half the cast, kj and omen seem like playstyles i would enjoy. very helpful video btw, i really need to train myself to be positive.
HEY ! Love the job you make !
I am not english native speaker and the main issue i have is that I dont know the basics term to communicate ingame like the areas or common expressions. As a no-native english speaker its not intuitive to talk freely and confidently with the right vocabulary LOL. Could you do a detailed video about the communiation with (maybe) a litle note of the basics we dont know for your subscribers abroad ?

13:35 loll. Positivity and Confidence is the most effective way to make you play better for me
thank you i really hope this works on me cuz im too dumb lol.
i like it when its positive
I came here after losing 14-12 after we're 11 - 8 .. After my teammate become to much positive about the winning and just forgot all the strats going into the offense on bind.. Basically if you could carry 30 kills on raze but your support doesn't want to smoke for you or even don't want to follow you to the site you're basically ducked up and anyways that was great 20 mins session to meditate and calming down from whatever happened jn 😵 Love your video keep up bro 🥰🔥

currently re-watching the video to avoid looking at the iron gameplay on stream
I watched so many vids like that but whenever i try to use those stuff for e.x communication sometimes i get people dont understand english and sometimes i try to play i get a smurf against me thats why im still hard stuck silver litterly i had a team with 5 people smurfing and they were radiants
I had a game the other day where this young kid was talking to a random (i was duo queueing with a friend in silver) and he said "not to be rude but your crosshair sucks and ur aim is jittery you should lower ur sens" and it's just like why say that at all if you don't want to be rude; he was literally bottom fragging and criticizing our top fragger and as the game went on he just became more toxic and saying a bunch of shit im too lazy to quote rn
what can i do about games that are just unlucky? where headshots dont connect, where people kill you blind, where you’re doing fine and still end up with 5 kills at the end of the game
Im a solo queuer and Im now gold 2. May not be much but its good to me especially everyone kept telling me I wont get plat solo.

i kinda of naturally starting doing it.. esp after round 2-3 and it seems like this could get out of hand quickly is to just igl as best as a new player can.. in silver2.
since i've started playing smokes.. ppl generally just go along with w/e i say.. as long as they intend on winning.
just calling super basic stuff like were going a on breeze and im dropping my smokes here.. whoever flashes in check immediate corners and 2 stay in caves.
also positivity is important (but hard to maintain.. esp when i feel like the one who is doing poorly) and can make someone who might be toxic early on "wow.. how do u miss that shot.. actually throwing" when i get a 3k in a 1v4... then he fucks up and the other team is talking shit about his - k/d and i mention well he is only -1 but has 7 assists and all of a sudden he is fired up about my shots.. (that obviously just happened lol)
believe in me
