Hi Caner. Welcome to the USA bro live your life bro on enjoy to the fullest don't listen to the heaters, very interesting video of your life style. Keep up the good work as always
Hello Caner, thank you so much for sharing us your new lifestyle in the States and provide us a detail of cost of living in TX. And thank you so much for the car enthusiasts as myself for showing your new car. The custom plate is a big bonus! We are looking forward for a release of the autopilot video in the highway with it :) All the best in your life. Best regards
Thanks for the comment! Don't forget there is an income limit for 7500 USD tax return. Better to check it before you buy! IT's perfect if you buy your car in the first year :)
You need to have a green card before you apply for the position. I'm a green card holder not a citizen. I'll record more videos about application process.
Hi Caner, thanks for this interesting video about your expenses here in the United States. It is a great benefit that the state of Texas doesn't have any State Income Tax. Good thing that you didn't move to California as they have an extremely high State Income Tax. The fact that you haven't had to pay to charge your care is awesome as well. They say with the cost of electricity it is very expensive to charge an electric car. Glad that you found a nice Apartment complex to live in the Houston area and things are working out well for you.
Hey Ben, yess I tried to avoid California. If I wanted, I would be based in LAX or SFO. However cost of living on CA is too high. Actually, In tesla App you can see how much you saved by charging your car compare to traditional Gasoline cars. Based on my current data I would have paid 99 USD if I had to pay on my own. Based on the milage and same class car, I would have spent 323 USD for the GAS. Electric cars still cheaper (99 USD vs 323 USD)
Very good video-I believe is a perfect guide for a pilot who wants to reallocate in US. Especially for the pilots who live in the Gulf region -where salary packages are always pretty good. I agree that at your age you need to have a long term vision and not dealing only with the first two years low salary in US. But I don’t know for how long you will be able to “squeeze “ so much your monthly flying hours in order to get the days off needed for your commuting back to Turkey . I mean the fatigue due 6-1&6-1 roster is too much if you add up the jet lag back and forth in Turkey.Maybe now as you are in the first months working in US , is still doable but in the long run might be a problem. But this is something personal and you know how to handle it. I wish you safe flights!
Hello, Thanks for such a long and constructive comment. 6-1 was an example. For instance, In August I had 7 off -3 on -2 off- 3 on - 1 off - 3 on - 2 off - 3 on - 3 off - 3 on. There is still time to rest. Also, most of the flights are daytime. Therefore they are not that tired compared to red eyes. You can check my schedule from here :) As you mentioned, in the long term I won't be doing this strategy. This is the beautiful part of flying in the US. You can get whatever you want as long as your seniority allows it. www.caneracarbay.com/ucus-takvimi/
Hi Caner, I love your videos. I am a fourteen year old in grade 9 deciding to chase piloting, and I'm wondering what courses I should go for when studying for to become a pilot.
wise words about the need to budget for different insurances. do you have professional insurance so that if something goes wrong and you lose your license (not medical reason) you are covered ?
Thanks Caner, Great video. I have one question I have had a hard time finding an awnser too. As an airline pilot, if you want to work less to have time for side projects, are you allowed to drop trips and just accept to make less money in order to consistently get lighter schedules (8-10 flying day a month) ? thank you in advance.
Hey, There are couple of ways to achieve what you are aiming for. You can drop flights (if there is enough coverage), you can drop flights (assuming good trips that people would like to pick up from you), you can bid for reserve and try not to fly. These are only couple of options and all of them are related with your relative seniority in the base. It's not hard but not easy especially when you are a new hire!
Hello, is it true that you can live in another city that its not your base? And you can take a flight to your base a day before your laboral day? Its called like commute work, Smth like that
It's perfect! My new company is also very international company. There are lot's of pilots and cabin crews whose English is their second language. Everyone is so used to with that
In one of your videos you mentioned an FO with experience earns around 40-50k usd per month . How is that possible with hourly rates in the range of 200 usd even with experience?
Hey, as I mention previously, It’s an extreme case and It’s not their salary. If your flight (20hours worth) is bought off by the company and you are awarded a day off, now on these days off, you pick a flight that pays 100% premium, and you are getting paid 20 hours for a long range 3day trip. You will get paid 60 hours on a 20-hour trip. If your hourly rate is 300 USD. You can make 18,000 USD from a 3-day trip.
@@CanerAcarbay makes sense . So this doesn't happen all the time . Also wanted to ask you, after how long after joining can one expect a transfer to wide body if he or she is hired on 320 initially? Also approximately what would be a regular month salary for an FO on wide body fleet with about 3-4 yrs experience?
I don't know....from these videos I don't think it's really convenient going to the us..... making 300k but you have to pay: taxes, loans, rent and healthcare in the end it's less than what you get in the Middle East. and if you have kids is even worse

Companies in the US prove LTD (Long Term Disability) plan for pilots. This insurance cover you in case of medical loss or long term sickness.
Great 👍🏻 😊
Wait the tax is about your living area and not the place you are based? So what if you were based in Newark but commuted from Dallas?
Correct. You pay your taxes based on your residential area not your base
