Can you do a video on a comparison between Delta, United and American. I understand that Delta’s profit sharing scheme is worth about 60k dollars a year at the moment for Pilots which is massive in comparison to the other 2 but it would still be interesting to see the other major differences.
Assuming United’s new TA is ratified, they will have a similar profit sharing as Delta. American’s new contract is similar as well. However, due to Deltas cost structure (ATL lower per passenger fee and less unions on the property) they will always be more profitable than UAL or AAL.
That being said, looking at profit sharing alone over a span of 25 years. You could be better off by over 1 million dollars working for Delta rather than American or United. I know the actual salaries are very similar but the profit sharing over a career is a HUGE difference.
From a very young age, I wanted to become a pilot and still dream if being being a pilot. But the biggest hurdle for me is the finances, pilot training is so expensive that I cannot afford it. Please advise me what to do plsss
Hello sir am harsh I am from India i love watching your videos right now am doing my cpl tranning i just wanna to know can a airline pilot buy a 5 million dollars house and 500k dollars car working as a pilot in us
I would never ever do this. There are some rules on finance describing that maximum house payment you should go for based on your annual income. 5M USD house is way farther than these limits. I don't even mention property taxes on house and maintenance cost for he car :)
Great video Caner! Very informative! I would like to start my pilot training in the next few months but I am unsure of what flight school to choose. Most of them are offering 0 to CPL in 8-10 months but what else should i look for? Any tips would be life-changing for me! Thank you!
15:05 how come hes an FO and been with the company for 20 years. he should be a captain by now. and that's some crazy figures 40K/month , and if u deduct taxes how much would he be left with?
Hey, as I mentioned in the video, only small amount of senior FO’s can reach this amount. Here in the US, captain upgrade is all about lifestyle. Some pilots stay as an FO for different reasons such as seniority, opportunity for premium pays, quality of life and etc,.
Merhaba Hocam, I am both a US and Turkish citizen. Currently I am at a crossroads on where I can continue for aviation. I am currently at 300 hours of TT and am about to complete my CPL in the US. I have a Turkish PPL, but because of COVID, I had to return to the United States because my school closed in Turkey and now my ATPL Theory training certificate expired. Would you recommend just getting my hours in the US as a CFI up to 1500 hours? Or go back to Turkey and redo my ATPL Theory examinations again and finish up with a ATO for CPL/IR/ME. Then join a Turkish airline, THY/SunExpress/Pegasus?
Hey! Thanks for your video. May i ask you what do you think is better. Gain experience in the best latin america airline or in a low cost airline in usa? My goal is a legacy airline in USA
IF your ultimate goal is to end up in a legacy. I would start flying in the US no matter what. At the end of the day, you will start accumulating 121 hours.
Hi Caner, interesting video about being a pilot for a US airline and comparing it to working for airlines in foreign countries. I didn't know that you had an Engineering background and wanted to ask if you think your Engineering education helped you in your flight training?
Hey Ben, thanks for the comment. I must say that my Engineering degree definitely helped me through my flight training. That being said, without a degree, still you can perfectly complete your training. Overall, total impact is not as much as people might think. Math and physics knowledge you need to have during training is definitely below under-graduate degree.
