    Caner, I really like your content. However, you should have mentioned your're talking about the US market only. Remember all guys in Europe who work for really shitty money. Paid by block hour you can easily make less than cabin crew in certain months alone. Not many people are aware of it. Let's imagine you get 25 h in January in Ryanair, multiply it by 83.5 euros, substract taxes, health care and good luck.

    • @VNAV_PTH
      @VNAV_PTH Год назад +1

      I understand, but the fundamentals are still the same. I was working hard as a taxi driver early in my career with very little pay. What I had left after the bills were paid was invested in the stock market. That built the foundation. The compound of interest, or time in the stock market, is what matters the most.

    • @CanerAcarbay
      @CanerAcarbay  Год назад +1

      Hey Adam, here I wanted to tell you the strategy. I know and acknowledge that pilot salaries in Europe is horrible. That needs to change! However, each developed country offers more or less similar retirement plans for future. I wanted to inform the community about saving and compounded interests. It's somehow applicable to any individual. If you contribute less, compounding years should be longer.

      Since he is young, he can start from PPL. PPL is not expensive. You guys can start saving money for PPL. Once he gets the license, you can think of the next step. Step-by-step approach can help you to finance the training better however will increase the duration of training. Meanwhile he/you can think of making extra money.

    I disagree with two things. Firstly, 3% happens to be only the reported rate of inflation and not the actual inflation rate which happens to hover somewhere around 5/6% p.a. And to assume that the UHNW gap would only increase by the inflation amount is also naive since the rate at which UHNW individuals have been becoming wealthier is far greater than the inflation rate. The gap between the rich and middle class is increase year on year.

    • @CanerAcarbay
      @CanerAcarbay  Год назад +1

      Hey, thanks for the comment. Theoretically you are right.Here I needed to make an assumption. Don't forget these numbers represented (max contribution for 401K, ROTH, etc,) here will be increasing based on inflation as well. Also I needed to add catch up contributions for at least 15 years. Since I didn't add future pay rises, contribution limits increases and catch up contributions. I also didn't increase the actual inflation. That being said, reported rate of inflation is difficult to measure. We needed to cover a generic approach. Thank you very much for the response :)

    Hi caner can you please answer these 3 following questions because i couldn't find the answer anywhere
    1- you mentionned in a video that you've went to flight school in florida and the first airline that you worked for is turkish airlines. If i am not wrong if you want to make direct entry as an F/O you need at least 1500 hours of flight time but you were a new pilot . How did you exactly do that?
    2- united airlines have so many hubs do you get to choose where to live or do the airline assign it to you
    3- At emirates you were a 777 pilot but now you're back at the 737 . Did you make that change or did the airline do it ? And if it's the airline's choice can you change it by yourself ?

    • @CanerAcarbay
      @CanerAcarbay  Год назад

      Hey, thanks for the message.
      1-) In Europe, there is no 1500 hours rule. Once you finish your training, you can fly with any plane as long ad you are type rated.
      2-) Yes, In the US legacies you can choose any base as long as there is a vacancy and your seniority can hold it.
      3-) I made the change because B737 offers me better life right now. I can chance to B777 anytime I want since there are a lot of vacancies nowadays.

    Caner, what state do you live in? Turkish brother here, just starting my PPL & training for my checkride. Would you recommend online ground school and endorsement to save up some money? Or to save time just go all in and start the actual training in my local flight school to save time (going 4 commercial) Most of those offer funding solutions thru Sallie Mae but I know on a very high interest rate. Whats the best affordable route, appreciated!
