There are a few things wrong with this suit :
First off, the shoulders are not the right size, the sleeves should be a centimeter or two lower, the bottom of the jacket should also be fairly lower.
I work with menswear ,tailoring specifically and overall this looks more like a Zara fit than a classic and timeless suit.
Do consider going a size up on the jacket
This is a problem with wearing a suit unless if you go to suit supply before recording the video. If you work out, a week of exercise may change the way a suit fits you.

I think the fit conforms to the latest styles. Everything looks a size too small. Jackets too tight and too short. Pants so tight you need stretchy material and too short like we're expecting a flood. Hard to find a comfortable relaxed fit. I hate the look and it's not a new look. This look was tried in the sixties and gave way to the funky seventies.
If you look at others of his vides he likes wearing the "skinny" fit clothes, that is just his style.
He has mentioned that the turtleneck was too thick

Love that you actually showed the mistakes you were talking about, really helps to see the problems with them.
i am not a big fan of his turtle neck. Turtle necks and suits look bad to me. thats probably the one thing i disagreed with but thats just my opinion of course.

I bought my first ever new custom fitted suit from indochino. I don't know any fabric material or mix and match style cues, but they helped me with everything and it's awesome! 🔥 🔥 🔥

Thank you for this! I am entering a competition where I need to make a futuristic formal wear and my model is a guy so I wanted to make a suit... the only problem is that I don't wear suits. So this helped me get a bit more of a grasp on what to stay away from while designing it!

Good advice. It was refreshing to hear someone address how accessories impact. I would not opt for a DW watch though. In the same price ballpark it should be possible to pick up a Hamilton, an Orient or a Timex.

One more suit mistake that he didn't mention: man-made material
All suits should be made of NATURAL FABRIC (i.e. wool, linen, silk, cotton, etc.)! Nothing says cheap like polyester, rayon/viscose, etc.

@@ryanhoman4234 Not sure, never bought anything from them. I use a different company for my suits. I know one where you can get a MTM suit for about $200 or an off the rack suit for less than $50(not including shipping)
the suit at 3:05 needs to be retouched, at least 2cm, on your back (neck area) as well as on your right shoulder.
I think the suit jacket should be a bit longer as it doesn't hide your :"+ correctly.
The very first thing I notice was the fit of your jacket.. then I looked at the comments, so yeah😂. You got that "do as I say, not as I do" 😂

Yeah but you should also take notice that he is also wearing casual shoes with the suit and not wearing a tie so in my opinion its not so much of a formal attire with that in mind I think all those rings don't look that bad

Your attire is anything but classic. Your suit is way too small and your pant legs are what we used to call "high waters" cuffed / hemmed way to short

Charles Phillips - Who are you to judge. His style is perfect and has been the attire that I am used to. I think Alex and I are from different social circles then you. Either way, if you do a google search you will see that his style is current and has been for at least 20+ years. I assume we are not from the same social circle because you cannot see the class therefore you do not have it. Class is not just looks, but demeanor as well and you are not a nice person based on your comment.

I would like to address something if you don’t mind. I worded the social circles point incorrectly. That was not meant to be rude or say that I am better than you. I could have said we are from different areas with different styles, etc. (you know what I mean?). As for class, that was a sh**ty thing to say and I am sorry. I don’t know you and who am I to assume. In the office i work, men are required to wear suit and tie. No t shirts, turtlenecks, or high watered slacks. My boss encourages 3 piece suits as well. I like the way men look in a suit. I have to agree with my boss on his 3 no nos. But I do think tailored suits are a must!

No. 1 mistake is wearing a suit that is so tight it captures the shape of your bicep and dimples at the sleeve head.
One of these days you’ll look at the pinned comment
1) A lot of investment bankers, ala Goldman Sachs, wear digital/Timex watch with their suits; 2) Wear suit that fit your body; 3) Although people go for tieless look, Hermes/Ferragamo tie help to define the look.

I would personally avoid wearing a black suit (unless for funerals), and opt for a charcoal gray or navy suit
Perfect advice. The "little black dress," is a requirement for women, but men wearing black should be headed for a funeral. Every man looks good in navy blue.

You saved me from wearing a smart watch with a suit😂😂 Good tip on the tightness if you sit down with it button the suit may rip because you’re applying too much force to it and it will be uncomfortable while if you sit with it unbuttoned it will be comfortable and save the it from ripping because while you sit the suit wraps around you if you unbutton it it won’t do that.

My favorite look is dark blue shirt, black vest, dark blue jacket. I like ties, but I kind of avoid them for the reasons you mentioned.

Another mistake: buying an expensive suit (Hugo Boss or Armani for example) when you only wear a suit 5 times a year or less. I bought my most recent suit from Zara, which isn't amazing quality, but good enough for how often I intend to use it

Black suits are not practical unless you’re going to a funeral. The three must have suits are Charcoal, Navy and Cambridge grey. Very versatile for business casual and after 5.

Buy quality movements nothing worse than a $500 fashion watch with a 10 dollar quartz movement no blingy watches or techno ones with a suit. Chronograph ok if its analogue and you're an engineer.
Doesn't have to be a Lange and Sonne, Rolex, Piget,or Paneri but no fakes!
Ball,Steinhart,Orient,Seiko,laco,Sinn,Hamilton or other mid horological pieces, swiss,German,or japanese. Preferably analogue and mechanical if you can afford it.
Probably the best dress watch value is the Orient bambino. In house automatic mechanical movement with many styles and colors starting at around $100 or the seiko 5 line, literally 100s to choose from all analogue day date automatics with see through movement screw down case backs.
Don't know if it's just me, but the jacket you're wearing and the suits featured in your video all seem to be a bit too FITTED ...errrr or TIGHT .... I don't think that's gonna be comfortable when you're wearing suits to work, every weekday . Otherwise , very very good tips , thanks Alex .
I think that is a problem because he is too built for his height. And he seems to be having chicken legs which is accentuated when you wear a fitted suit.
