  • Join us as Nightline ABC News takes a journey with several Camp Shane campers. Camp Shane is the premiere weight loss camp for kids, teens and young adults worldwide. We have experience since 1968, helping our campers achieve their health and fitness goals. All the fun of traditional summer camps mixes with the benefits of weight loss camps to ensure a memorable and unforgettable summer for each camper. Camp Shane weight loss camp urges campers the importance of nutrition and fitness knowledge in order to lose weight in a healthy manner. We don’t operate as a ‘boot camp’ and are much more supportive and nurturing than a ‘fat camp’. Here, campers learn the methods behind healthy weight loss and how to keep the weight off in the future. They meet new friends while making positive healthy life changes and still experience summer fun. Shane weight loss camps have seen successful transformations for over 20,000 campers through the years and we would love to see the same for you! www.campshane.com

      David W. They were some of the best summers of my life and yes I learned a lot from being there but it’s very costly it was like 7 grand for 6 weeks and I went 3 summers in a row. A lot of the stuff you learn u are going to learn in life anyway.

    Am I the only one that sees the hypocrisy here? That woman calls her son lazy for sitting in front of the computer. When I was young my parents had my brothers and I playing outside, doing local sports, ballet class, swimming. We only had access to the computer or tv if we did our homework and chores. How did the boy get accustomed to this “laziness”? How did the girl get accustomed to eating “adult sized portions”? Who allowed her to? Why does America serve these giant portions in restaurants? This is a bigger issue. These camps just encourage children to equate their self worth to their size instead of encouraging them to try healthy foods, play outside because it’s fun from a young age. Their parents are to blame and if they continue what they’ve been doing the kids won’t lose any weight but they will continue to be shamed and humiliated for something that was taught to them.

      Helicopter parenting. Not letting children play outside.

    • @Wesley_is_here
      @Wesley_is_here Год назад

      It’s because of the lip on the water pitcher. If you hold it like they did, you can add ice cubes to the glass.

    If no one was bullied, would there be as much incentive to lose weight.

      Hannah Helton it’s not only cause of that people die because of their weight it’s just healthier if your fit

  • @DamienMalakay

    but they r both still fat.... losing weight is not a temporary diet, it is a life style decision you must make because short diets r just temporary results and in most cases after they lose weight they start eating more n usually gain double the weight they lost

    • @taylorbates7812

      the point was to teach them and help them. fat isn’t the word i’d use.

    • @DamienMalakay
      @DamienMalakay 4 года назад +1

      @@taylorbates7812 Help them? By naming the camp, Camp Shame? lol The problem is the world we live in these days and you seem to support it. A world where we promote that laziness still gets you an award, a red carpet and recognition for barely half the effort. A world where now manniquins need to replicate big people so feelings are spared and a world where we teach that obesity should be praised and celebrated! A kid gets an award for crossing the street these days
