Oh totally... Oh man how wise were these kids. They told me then and I was like "nope, young forever!". Actually I didn't even hear the lyrics. It was too catchy to care then. Writing such multigenerational song is something of a bigger importance. Crazy.
All of their songs on Middle of Nowhere actually had super deep and meaningful lyrics. I was in awe after I really listened. Wise beyond their years, for sure.

I'd love to go back to 1997. This hits different now that I'm 41 and have lost both my siblings in the past 12 years. Didn't know I needed this. My little sister and I would sing this song as a fun catchy tune constantly but the meaning resonates more now.

It’s doubtful it will. Hanson have always been shamefully overlooked ever since they cut ties with Island record label after releasing their album This Time Around in 2000. They’ve been independent since 2003. Island was not good to Hanson and they clashed with the label over creative differences, as well as Island’s rejection of over 80 of their songs. There were probably other things too.

I can’t believe a song this sacred could be remade this well. It’s a refreshing take on the song that doesn’t have me comparing it to the original without veering too far off. Also, I appreciate the lyrics so differently now that the vocals are less high pitched and Charlie Simpson’s thick ass voice on this track is soooo good???? Putting this on repeat I don’t even care

This is the single best thing to happen to Hanson since Live From Albertane. I absolutely hope that Tay decides to take this direction with music. His voice sounds so good next to more aggressive guitars.

Being a 90s kid was the best. We had top quality cartoons, music videos still on mtv, politics were kinda meh, and when music was released you had to buy the damn tape/cd. And if you wanted to see a music video you had to pray to god it came on mtv or vh1 while you were watching.
